What do you know about Genjutsu?

What does it take to be good at genjutsu?

Genjutsu is an illusory style techniques that manipulate the flow of chakra in the victim's brain, thus causing a disruption in their senses and causes the victim to see false images or causes pain from trauma.

In order to be good at Genjutsu one must possess fair chakra control ...and creativeness.

Ninjutsu -Mastered but Gobi sensei told me that i get it by auto , so that mean do i need to do it now.

Genjutsus need a medium in order to reach the opponent's brain. Doujutsu use a visual medium. Sound genjutsus use sound, etc. Some Genjutsus simply use Handseals and don't need actual contact in order to be felt (Such as Nirvana Temple.)

Now that you have understood that, how can you counter genjutsu?

Genjutsu can be counter by a genjutsu counter technique named Kai(Release),this technique is performed by stopping the flow chakra and re channeling it so that the one can get out of genjutsu.Since only up to B ranked Genjutsu a be countered by Kai , for a higher rank one must apply another method such stabbing in own hand or legs to cause pain . the felling of pain cause immediate release from genjutsu.

Most of the time your clones would be affected if you being the real one get trapped in a genjutsu because your chakra system is being manipulated, but the answer I was looking for was the companion, although the nagashi is correct.


Using Chakra to make it disrupt, which can be done by Kai, which basically forces chakra through your head and then blast outward, to force you out of the genjutsu, or with the help of an ally, which can insert his own chakra onto you and forcefully disrupt your chakra and get you out of the genjutsu.

Using Pain. A sudden and intense pain will force you out of the genjutsu because it will numb or even nullify your senses temporarily. Pain will overpower anything you're feeling, and thus it will snap you out of the genjutsu. This can be done my breaking a bone, piercing a kunai on your flesh, biting the inside of your mouth, etc (You have to be careful not to injure yourself to an extend that you can't fight anymore). Or, of course, having someone else causing you pain, but if you have an ally, it would be better to have him insert chakra in you, instead of injuring you.

Overall, having someone else, an ally, insert chakra onto you will release you out of any genjutsu, apart from Tsukyomi (Because the full effects of the Genjutsu happen in an instance, so there's literally no time for an ally to insert chakra in you). But some jutsu can't be broken by Kai (higher than B), or by pain (Genjutsu that provoke pain themselves can't be broken through pain). There are many other ways of breaking out of a genjutsu, though they aren't open for every ninja, for they need especial abilities. As you fight and gain more experience, you may even find alternative methods that are more suited for your characters.

Overall, Doujutsu users are immune to most genjutsus. Chakra sensors, although not immune, can distinguish what's real and what's not real, and can counter many genjutsu this way. Gathering Natural Energy will snap you out of many if not all genjutsus. Having a Bijuu means, in some cases, a constant ally. You can open the gates, the curse mark, etc and release yourself from the genjutsu through those bursts of chakra. You can even use stronger genjutsus to reverse the effects of weaker genjutsus, such as Itachi reversing Kurenai's genjutsus.

Reading the jutsu it's description it has no medium. If it has no medium, how is it cast?

This tech doesn't use medium like eye contact , sound and Hand seals .It simply changes the surrounding around the opponent to fool them and once they steps into the illusion's area of effect will fall under this Gejnutsu.

sorry sensei I'll keep in mind that if a genjutsu doesn't have medium like eye contact or through sound it has the medium through hand seals.

1. like you said changing the surrounding to a different places. makes him feel that nothing is wrong in the surrounding but than create spikes around him.

2. by double layering the surrounding so that if the opponents breaks the first genjutsu he may not notice that his still under it's effect.
