If Naruto was stuck in the Genjutsu while he was fighting or something, then it would make sense for plot not to be the excuse. But since Naruto was under that Genjutsu to figure out Hinata's feelings for him, it is pretty clear that it was just for the sake of plot.
I guess SP were trying to give Sakura feats or something. Other than that, most of scenes were illogical. Byakugan had a nerf in which Hinata could not see a spiderweb 5 feet away, Naruto could pull out Kurama from his body (not just the chakra version), etc.,
It was weird.

Yeah the movie was sort of disjointed from the manga (probably one of the reasons for its criticism).

I'm not a big of the movie but don't accept the movie for giving Naruto strength and not weakness.. Don't use the movie to represent his strength by throwing FRS in base but downplay the movie when it represents Naruto's weakness for Genjutsu.

lol, kinda true. If it's pro Naruto it's ok but if not it's not canon. Gotta admit, the movie is pretty damn stupid at certain parts. It's still canon though... unfortunately.
Anyway. Thx for the replies guys, I guess there is no true answer to this. As always we've got no choice but to wait for the next movie for possible feats.

Let's not even mention the fact that Naruto removed Kurama from his body and he still had KCM/BM activated. It's like they are stating he can remove half of Kurama when they already merged ... (I wonder how many times Kishimoto laughed inside while watching this). Worse part for me was when Naruto flew with a one handed rasengan in BASE towards the end. I was literally like "the ****"

Most Genjutsu won't really affect Naruto due to the Kurama link however there are some acceptations to the rule. If Naruto was caught in Tsukuyomi (Not Saying he's ever going to get caught in it) due to Itachi being able to manipulate time in the Genjutsu making One Second seem like 72 hours, Kurama wouldn't be fast enough to break Naruto out of it.
Then there's Infinite Tsukuyomi which affects everybody Perfect Jin or not and the only way to be immune to it is to have a Rinnegan.

Merging Naruto and Kurama's chakras have nothing to do with genjutsu breaking not working though, if anything it makes it easier for Naruto to break genjutsu. As for that genjutsu in the movie, probably a plot hole, because if Naruto can break any other genjutsu, don't see why he can't break this one. Doesn't mean his weakness is genjutsu, as long as he has bijuu's, he'll never be weak to genjutsu.
