yes i agree this thread grew crazy fast. and i agree with everything you said. but it seems you dont get wat my message was either. this thread wasnt about the recent manga, it was about a real life fight (not edo tensei). i made this thread b4 the manga came out.
i know itachis tsukuyomi is powerful, i was saying it isnt unbeatable. and when i said a 2+ ninja fight against itachi is the key against and genjutsu that isnt jmans frog song. why? because that one second one of the two gets hit with the gen, itachi will be open for about 3 seconds from him grabing his eye (like him and sasuke normaly do) and that will be a chance to further harm itachi.
and what i also meant by 2+ ninjas is that the one hit by the tsukuyomi could be protected by the one that didnt get it. because although you will eventually be hospitalize, for thta short moment your will to fight will still be high (i.e. kakashi was still able to walk and talk, but then later went into acoma in the hospital). its like an adrendaline rush when you are fighting, you feel little pain and your amped to fight and finish it, but once your adrendaline calms down you fell all the pain you didnt feel before..
overall most of you do not get the message i was rtying to explain and was quick (not u leafeater) to say a smartass response that makes you look stupid. some of you should learn to read and better understand things from both prespectives..
Tsukiyomi is powerful, and every jutsu has a weakness. If it was all powerful, Itachi would end fights too easily against multiple opponents. The problem is if you really think that the partner can really get to Itachi during his weakness when his guard is lessened. It's sort of like after Shinra Tensei and the 5s rule in that there's not much time. Itachi also doesn't really spam Tsukiyomi either, his crow genjutsu can be cast with his finger without ever making eye contact, which I wonder if it could help with his blindspot.
Say Itachi is facing two opponents, and lands one Tsukiyomi on Shinobi A, his guard is then lowered by covering 1 eye in pain for a few seconds, but he's far from defenseless, especially with his speed and reflexes along with the Sharingan's perception of motion. If the person is in his blind spot, he's not an idiot, he'll move. I think you're underestimating how easy it would be for the partner shinobi B to land a blow on Itachi. If he does land a blow 3s later than the Tsukiyomi on shinobi A, the damage is done as it only lasted 1s, so 2s went by where the jutsu was finished and nothing was being interrupted by the hit on Itachi. Now it's one on one with Itachi, not good.
As well, the reason Kakashi did as well as he did was he had a Sharingan though not an Uchiha (one can also speculate about Itachi sparing him as the secret good guy, but who knows...Kakashi was taken out of the fight.), yet he still dropped to his knees in a second, he wasn't able to fight after eating the Tsukiyomi, Sasuke was similarly dropped. There's nothing shinobi B can do for him. Now, shinobi B's best move is to recover his partner A and escape. Itachi's regular genjutsu is likely too strong (depending on shinobi A and B's level is), let alone if he's able to use Tsukiyomi again, which he'd likely be hesitant to try first.
As for what Chiyo said. That was all good and fine for a regular Uchiha, Kakashi corrected her in that Itachi was special with his MS and that her strategy wouldn't necessarily apply. The problem is the whole 1s= perceived 72hrs bit with Itachi. Granted I'm sure that there's a saturating limit to what he can do as you increase the number of opponents where this fails, but I wrote this with Itachi only using genjutsu, while we know he has other jutsu. Further, it's somewhat impractical to think he would fight using genjutsu alone, he'd probably mix even if only to setup his genjutsu.
So yes, there should be a saturating number of opponents, but it depends on their ability of course, and I don't see how it really detracts from the value of Tsukiyomi personally. Does it have a cost? Yes, and one that can be exploited, but it's hard to do. Further, it seems like you don't see how instantly disabling it is when it lands successfully. Granted we're talking about and focusing just on Itachi's because of his temporal control. The same discussion about MS Sasuke would be very different.
Tsukiyomi is a tool that's only as good as the user who wields it. As well, every jutsu has a weakness, so it's always a matter of exploiting it. I just think it's more difficult to exploit than it appears to some, and in the hands of Itachi, it's a very powerful tool that can instantly immobilize an opponent or worse.
