genjutsu having ranges O_O

why do genjutsu have ranges it makes absolutely no sense O_O

example:

u are fighting itachi and he puts a genjutsu on u all of a sudden u turn around like an idiot and run in the opposite direction and somehow the genjutsu is dispelled

(so jack sparrow)

i mean u cant just leap up and no genjutsu

in most genjutsu you can not move

and if you can the caster is guiding your movements, or your equilibrium has been thrown off and you can not tell which way is up

illusions prevent calculated and logical reactions and make you easier to kill

make sense?

but they are instant so they cannot block that way. and people can't move in most genjutsu, they just think they can.

agreed, high rank genjutsu generally prevent movement
such as: chains of fantasia, tsukuyomi, tree binding death, if you only watch the anime do not read this and complain i put it in spoilers for a reason

the vast majority of powerful illusions enfeeble the target preventing them from simply "pulling a jack sparrow" that is a funny scenario though

if they are in the genjutsu thats not a possibility as genjutsu disturbs the victims chakra preventing them from using jutsu until they free them selves (kai is a given)

given that was a bad example and u can use jutsu like how naruto used rasengan under itachi's illusion THINKING there was a clone

yes but when he got out of the genjutsu he hadn't moved.... he thought he was moving but that was part of the genjutsu
