no that doesn't work if it did they can capture them in seconds but it takes days to absorb its soul and chakra. These beasts are not like humans who can get their souls just sucked out, they are like chakra with a lot of hate if that worked then gedo could have capture ppl the tb in sceonds but did not and took days or a lot of hours or something.

gedo is strong with out the bijuu it kind of like a humanoid tailed beast

Gedo mazo without the 7 bijuus would get destroyed by the 9 tails in a few seconds but if its the gedo mazo with 7 bijuus then gedo probably would win.

They sealed the three tails as a whole bijuu, but they had to knock it out first to seal it so it wouldn't resist. Nine tails would probably win since it wouldn't be so much a battle of power than a battle of cunning, and the nine tails is very smart. Besides gedo maze is somewhat useless without it's summoner.
