You don't have to be religious to want to be straight. The main reason these types of men do this sort of thing is:


1) they are in conflict with their religious beliefs and desire to live by their religion and are constantly told they will go to hell for being who they are. They don't wish to bring "shame" to their families and loved ones and so seek to change their ways. (they don't they just suppress them and never acknowledge them)

2) are tired of being told how amoral disgusting and abnormal they are and seek to change themselves because they simply do not wish to be ostracized from the rest of society.

I don't mean this with anger, but is people like yourself and a number of others who force (and yes that is exactly what you are doing and then claim LGBT does it exclusively) your views and beliefs on others simply because they are not like the rest of society.

Not everyone has the mental fortitude to deal with this kind of ignorance, bigotry, nor being shunned by society day in and day out, year after year- all their lives. So they seek to change. Do they. Nope. They just supress it and lead a "Normal" life for the sake of others.

In the end....

they either destroy themselves or resent the way they lived the greater share of their lives. How do I know?

Yes! That is exactly why he did it. Just because he was a public speaker for gays at one point, doesn't mean he doesn't feel the sting of society's self righteous views on homosexuality. Again People lie. Even to themselves. Just because he says he is no longer gay on national television and because he used to be an advocate for homosexuality his words are undeniable proof?

Why do you claim your "view" is truth? You are collecting testaments from other peoples' accounts and somehow this is inconclusive evidence that homosexuality is a choice and therefore can be cured.

You realize that there are guys and girls out there who have married, had children and only now are coming to terms with their homosexuality.

Bruce Jenner is a prime example. Married, had a good number of children, an olympic champion, for most of his life.

How old is he now? And he now has only just become a woman.

You need to realize that this sort of thing used to be said about blacks and other minorities. Black were just subhumans with no use other than slavery. For a black man to lay with a white woman was consider, amoral, disgusting and unthinkable. So many different theories went about during that time about how even breeding with blacks was degrading the white race genetically.

Now it's 2015. Do you hear such things now?
