i wuld like to think garaa would win in the desert obv, i wouldnt think in the ocean or the mountains. He did get beaten by Deidara but only because deidara used the village againts garaa. He is the kazegake but nagato would be much stronger than deidara but would not have the privilege to use garas village againts him....

i would like to see this match up.

Well gaara being in the sand would be an advantage but nagato at full power? I don't think gaara could beat a weakened state of nagato.
In the whole of naruto I think only a handful of people can beat him and gaara is no way near that level

pain can summon rain in the desert, that would make gaara's sand wet, means a heavier and hard to control sand.

so yeah, pain will own gaara anywhere.
