An alluring aroma peppered the fine summer breezes that flowed through the air; lingering in the calmness of the world around us – soothing the soul. It truly was a bliss, accompanied with the voice of an angel whom speaks from the other side. "So, you’ve come my child. It will be a delight watching you indulge on the true essence of beauty." the voice said, its tone was genuine as the feeling of a gentle kiss glanced on her face. A maiden, themed after the very popular flavor of Neapolitan Ice cream appeared before Kairi, it made her feel at home, like this was truly the place she needed to be but with a snap of a finger the feeling swiftly vanished as fast as it came.

Standing in the distance was the same person, hands on hips as she approached Kairi but unlike that minor show of power, Neo was voiceless in the real world. A mute with the ironic power of Sound Ninjutsu but she conjured a bulletin board with the writing “Hello!” written on it as she pranced joyously across the grassy plains, sitting in front of Kairi with her legs crossed. There was pure silence.

Alright so this training will be a mix of OOC and RP, though we’ll be focusing on the OOC part more seriously than the in character part. So, first thing is welcome to the Ganmi! Id like for you to briefly tell me what you know about the clan as just a warm up before we get into the real training session. We will be going over things in this order: Taste Sensory > Ganmi Genjutsu > Black Tongue Arts (Saliva Ninjutsu) and you’ll be ranking up accordingly as you go more into each lesson. So now the stage is yours

Kairi was patiently waiting sitting under the tree contemplating her future, with this mysterious note. It's not as if she couldn't defend herself but she was curious about who would reach out to her. During mid thought she caught a whiff of a scent on the breeze. It was strange to have this sleep in this area, and Kairi was no slouch when it came to recognizing smells. She always had acute sense of smell, even particularly when it came to taste as well, being able to recognize different flavours and smells that were coming from a different house. Every now and then when out on missions Kairi would be able to smell strange scents as if it were people around her, but she never concentrated on it before. This new smell, this scent, was pleasuring and dreamy, and as it suddenly vanished, Kairi saw a bright young woman standing opposite her.

She held a board that said hello, to which Kairi guessed either she didn't talk much or couldn't. Taking a deep breath and waving, Kairi introduced herself.

my name is Kairi, I assume you sent that note then. Pleased to meet you. Why are we here?

So Ganmi is a clan made and created by Lili based on her oc about her written stories tales of the candymaker. The clan itself in the RP focuses on the ability to manipulate and create genjutsu through scents with the added effect of creating or manipulating emotions through them. On top of this, Ganmi have the ability to taste (sense) chakra specific to each person much how each chakra signal is different. Ganmi also have corrosive acidic saliva which can be used in combination of ninjutsu based along the lines of water manipulation.

Neo would smile and nodded in response. She indeed brought Kairi here, and for the purpose? Well, Neo was a cheeky one as she held out her tongue and pointed towards it. She hoped to assume the young lady would catch on but she conjured another sign in her hand as she waited for her to take a guess.

Pretty much yea, but I’ll start to go a little bit more in depth into the clan itself. So first things first is to note is that the clan has a kekkai genkai – this one being organic in the sense that it’s embedded into our body. This is located in our tongue, so its very important to protect it as losing it will cause you to lose access to our clan abilities – but this kekkai genkai comes into two forms. It’s the gene that causes us to have unimaginable Handsomeness and the enhanced sense of taste – the former is largely cosmetic but can be nice for some biography modeling as you can be from two clans, you just don’t inherit the powers of the other clan but you do adapt the appearance of the other. So if you where an Uchiha x Ganmi hybrid; you wouldn’t gain the Sharingan but youd get the onxy colored eyes and other facial/body appearance of the Uchiha while your kekkai genkai will be of the Ganmi.

You can even have your other family name if desired but again, all of these are cosmetic. Now moving onto what actually matters, the actual sense. So, our kekkai genkai is largely passive and is occurring all the time so it’s a natural feature we have much like how Inuzuka’s channel chakra into their noses. This enhances your sense of taste, so much that you can taste substances without actually putting it into your mouth. So if you want to taste a banana before you peel it to see if its spoil, you can do that or if you want dissect the chemicals in a toxic river or some crazy thing then well, you can do this. This just your basic sense however, so you can taste anything but when you take to another level with by engrossing your mouth, tongue and throat area with chakra you can sense the chakra around, powerful enough to even tell elemental natures apart. All of this promotes a powerful heightened sense and grants you an x1.5 tracking bonus.

Heres the ability as it’s outlined in the clan submission so I want you to go over it and answer the following question afterwards.

Taste Sensory Skill
(Mikaku Henkanshi no Ki)

It's similar to specific techniques, like Sound Release's Inner Sonar Skill, but always active. Unlike skills, this ability is basically an enhanced form of a sense that any animal possesses and, as such, is always active and unconsciously controlled. It works by passively engrossing the chakra flow around the mouth, throat and tongue areas, associated with Taste, augmenting their sensitivity, like the Sonar Skill increases the chakra flow around the ears.

This permits the user to acquire a super-human sense of taste, allowing one to sense even the faintest remnants of substances and pinpoint their origin, concentration and nature and, through this ability, the user acquires the ability to taste chakra itself.

Every person has a unique chakra signature, which leaves behind a unique chakra taste. Simultaneously, each element stimulates different parts of the tongue, and is thus associated with the different base flavors ( Sweet - Fire, Sour - Wind, Bitter - Lightning, Salty - Earth, Savory - Water ), which can then complexity into the advanced Elements. The Ganmi's taste sensory perception is heightened and quite dexterous. A Ganmi is able to taste the different concentrations of a sample, in order to gauge the quantity and distance from the taste source, as anyone would a smell or a sound, for example. The nature of the taste, is associated with a taste map, every chemical and mineral will activate a different cell, which will be associated with several taste groups. Each individual taste will activate more than one taste group, and the brain will come to the conclusion of the nature of the taste through this cross checking. A lemon may activate group B, C, D and not A, and that is the composition of what the brain perceives as Lemon. The more exposed a Ganmi is to the elements, the more complex their taste map is. An unknown taste will still activate a specific set of groups, and it is up to the user to associate with with something, for future reference.

This, of course, makes their chakra nature sensing, while quite better than sharingan's, still similar, in the sense that there is not a direct link to a chakra nature, as if each had a specific taste ( or color in the sharingan's case), which it actually doesn't have, but it does allow an experienced user to deduct it quite accurately ( through heat, ashy smell, carbonization, etc for Fire, liquidy, mineraly, wet and cold for Water, etc etc ), along with other sensory cues, like sight, sound, etc.

The complexity of the Gamni Taste is similar to that of other advanced chemical-sensor animals, such as the highly advanced dog smelling sense. Emotions are nothing but hormonal and chemical unbalances, and even dogs, with their subpar intelligence, are able to innately distinguish a wide range of emotions in other animals, humans inclusive, from Happiness to Fear, Sadness to Excitement. It's a fusion between body language and heightened sensory. A panicked person will sweet more, which the dog is able to smell. Lust will invariable release sexual hormones, that, while not as noticeable as pheromones in other species, are still there and noticeable to someone with heightened senses. Gamni thus ally their animalistic advanced senses with the human innate brain capabilities, to bring these Emotion sensing to new heights, in a much more complex sensory map than dogs, capable of greater empathy and thus, better distinguish the nuances of similar emotions.

Restrictions:

• Every chakra signature is different and individual, and so is it's taste..
• Every chakra modulation is distinguishable by user, quantity, nature and type.
• Basic Chakra, Elemental Chakra, Bijuu Chakra, and other type of chakra related energies are able to be tasted, even if the user can't access them or is able to understand or define them.
• Non-Chakra related Energy sources can't be tasted unless they come from a chakra-requiring technique, this only entails alternative spiritual sources, like untouched Force, or un-gathered Natural Energy, for example.
• The user is able to taste certain emotions or conditions in people, similar to other animals with highly advanced chemical senses (like Dogs). They thrive in it and developed the Taste Genjutsu with it.
• The power and range of the sensory technique varies with the rank of the user both in power and in the clan.
• According to the speed chart, Ganmi's natural prowess would be somewhat equal to that of an Inuzuka clansmen, thus 1.5x. Upon reaching the highest level within the clan, this ability is increased to x3, similar to that of Emotion Sensing.
So the question or rather assignment I have for you to do is look at all the custom clans and tell me which clan energy (unique element most clans have) we as Ganmi can and can’t sense. Also ask any questions if you have any. One last thing to note is that your rank is currently.

Bud or Tonsil [Rank 1]:

Lowest rank among the clan. They possess the clan's inherited ability of Taste Sensory, allowing them to pinpoint tastes and their sources with great accuracy within a radius of 50 meters. They are able to distinguish between different people and animals, and a huge variety of different molecules and elements. The men are referred to as Buds and variants, and the female are referred to as 'Sils or Tonsils. The same connotation are used to refer to people outside the clan, as a mocking/familiar name. They don't have access to the Clan's techniques.
So note your sensory range is in there though in most cases its irrelevant since most people will have to still attack you.

So I think that as it says we can't distinguish or taste force or natural energy that has no chakra input into it, but then also along with reborns hayabusa clan they remove their chakra signatures too iirc? So wouldn't be able to taste them. Uhh most others I think have a chakra base, even if it's kisei with juubi chakra or noldor with their holy fire, it still all comes from chakra.
Only th8ng I'm unsure about is gobis katsu clan. It's spiritual essence but I guess is still gets infused with chakra so still can taste it?

Kairi paused for a moment as the women simply showed her tongue, and had a cheeky smile. It was almost as if she meant Kairis ability to taste and smell things. Could it be that it's not a natural ability but actually part of a ninja heritage? Kairi was eager to find out more.

You mean my tongue? I thought that was just me?

Neo giggled, holding up a sign once more saying “Nope” on it, as it was assuming that Kairi thought that she was the only true person with such an ability but jokes aside now, Neo grew bored fast. As she rose from her sitting position she would move away from Kairi – just about five meters away in a quick dash as she slapped her palms together. A plume of smoke came into the training zone, it was several covered plates of food within them. She wanted to test just how accurate her tasting skill was. She pointed to the covered plates, then to her tongue then to Kairi lastly.

Let’s see if she can understand Neo without her giving instructions though little did Kairi know her training had already begun.

Yes that is true, so unless the energy comes contains chakra within them its neigh impossible to sense it, though this isn’t the case with solids. Some clans, namely Hayabusa, cant be sensed due to them lacking a chakra based element or in the case of Hayabusa you cant sense their chakra. There is however a gimmick to this as you don’t need to sense their chakra – sense their literal taste that their body naturally gives off thus the uncoated version of the sensing skill.

Genki (Katsuryoku) can’t be sense due to them having a lack of a yang energy thus not made of chakra though you can however sense the build of chakra before it’s released and consumed by the genki. So with this skill cleared, we’ll just let you do the rp part above alone next post in which you describe based on one of these scenarios.

A. Kairi attempts to strengthen her power but finds something is blocking her chakra from tasting what’s inside each plate. There are other plates nearby but several meters away (Being at the max range of rank 2) as she has to also increase her range. Make sure it described with a minimum of 200 words

B. Kairi asks Neo due to confusion what to do, so she gets her to explain via a board again doing the scenario in option A with the same minimum requirement. Allowing you to power play (control) Neo for that purpose.

Only doing this to make it a bit more interesting instead. Completing this grants you rank 2 within the clan

Kairi was a little confused as the plume of smoke revealed 5 tantalizing plates of food while her teacher point towards her tongue then the food then Kairi herself. The aroma of the food filled the air as each individual ingredient and taste permeated Kairis tongue, the sweetness of the potato dish, the saltiness of the chicken, the bitterness of the tart, all of them combining and telling Kairi a story of what each dish comprised. But something was wrong, there was something that seemed noxious with one of the dishes as if her tongue was telling her that one of the dishes was hideous, to move away from it. Was something poisoned? Was there a trick towards this test? There were so many different tastes and aromas that Kairi couldn't pinpoint where the terrible bad taste was coming from. There were also several other tastes on the breeze that Kairi could sense as if they were hidden around the area. But they should have been alone... right?

I- I I don't know what's happening... I can taste all these things just by seeing them but something's off. One of them doesn't feel right. What's going on? There's too many tastes around I can't tell which is which!

Neo would expel from her mouth a familiar aroma once more, as it spreads through the terrain and infiltrated Kairi’s mind, she her body become relaxed as the warmth wrapped around her body. The sweet bliss it brought to her, as another image of Neo appeared from behind and hugged her. The embrace calmed her down, and made her feel joyous…so much as home but alas this feeling died out as the Candy Maker released the hold of her psyche. Another sign saying “Don’t be scared, this is all a test.” She now wondered where to take her next though Neo had something in mind.

Well the word count thing was mostly a bluff not gonna lie, but nice to see you made the effort at least. Carrying on, you’ve been promoted to the rank mentioned below;

Taester [Rank 2]:

They possess the clan's inherited ability of Taste Sensory, allowing them to pinpoint tastes and their sources with great accuracy within a radius of 120 meters. They are able to distinguish between different people and animals, and a huge variety of different molecules and elements. They are known as Taesters, due to the introduction to the Taste Arts, and thus have access to some Clan's techniques, namely those related to Taste based Genjutsu.
So with that said and done, let’s see what you know about Ganmi Genjutsu. Tell me what you know/understand about it and then Ill go more into detail about it.

Kairi nodded slowly, taken aback by the pleasant aroma that was filled in the air and then suddenly taken back. These tricks were filling Kairi with a curiosity that peaked about this woman showing off the abilities that Kairi had deep inside of herself. Could she possibly do all this? Being able to manipulate someone just by their senses? She was going to find out and she wanted to become a master of it.

So I think I'd consider ganmi genjutsu arts a pseudo elemental genjutsu in the fact that it is genjutsu but also effects the targets emotions via taste? By targeting the hormones released in a user a genjutsu can induce fear or anger or happiness etc purely from how they taste. It can be tricky to roleplay out and takes a willingness from an opponent to consider how they actually would act, but used correctly it can leave an opponent completely disabled.
I'm not sure if the ganmi genjutsu is applied directly through a chakra insertion or if it's used via water pheromones, but I guess that will go into more detail?

Alright so I’m going full OOC on this one, so let’s start off from the start of it all. Ganmi Genjutsu is a sub class of illusions that uses the sense of smell and taste as the triggering medium; in which case the person needs to come into contact with a pheromone that we release via our body/mouth or from saliva that is present in the battle field by manipulating it to have it radiate off of it basically. In terms of the method, it is chakra infused much like normal genjutsu but the chakra is located in the pheromone. Once a certain induction period has pasted, you can cast the illusion but you’ll see what I mean when we get to it.

Now, you are indeed correct that it’s using emotions on the enemy as you also induce onto them. How they react is the same, with them choosing how to do so BUT they still have to acknowledge the emotion; regardless if they want to or not as you can quote them on this. Its an integral part of the techniques so unless a person for example has some sort of method to suppress his emotions or control them a person can’t be “Despite the illusion, I feel no fear etc” since that’s ignoring a technique’s core mechanics.

Now let’s break down what a Ganmi Genjutsu is made up from via the quote below:
Taste Illusionary Arts
Ganmi no Genjutsu

These techniques combine concepts of Ninjutsu and Genjutsu. The Taste Genjutsu pertain to a set of illusions that use Taste/Smell as a medium. To do so, the Gamni exude a type of toxin, pheromone-based, that, through inhalation or ingestion/absorption through the mouth's mucosa ( Taste or Smell ) are carried on to the brain, together with chakra and trigger an illusion. Through this type of Genjutsu, the user acquires a greater grip on the target's physiology and psyche, going as far as being able to induce emotional disturbances in addition to the distortion of the senses, as is normal with any Genjutsu.

Apart of Taste and Smell, which trigger the illusion, these Ganmi Toxins are almost imperceptible (if one looks carefully and in certain conditions, a slight distortion in the air (similar to the effect of hot air rising from the ground in a very hot day) is present around the user). Yet they are produced through chakra, and, thus, are easily detected by any Chakra Sensing Ability, such as Doujutsu or the default Chakra Sensing Technique or any similar technique. They can be destroyed by Lightning and pushed by Wind or Water ( Rain, for example, lessens the Toxin's spread ), disabled by cold and are enhanced by Fire, otherwise being unaffected and unphased by other elements (Earth and most simple solid elements). The Toxins are exuded from the users body or mouth or can be a byproduct of the users own Saliva.

Fundamental Effect - Flavor

These deal with the main body of the Gamni Toxin and it is used to modulate the taste in order to get the whole variety of flavors possible. This allows the user to mimic any taste, and is used to give certain hues of flavor to every technique, or simply be used to create more diverse and realistic flavors. In essence, it means any genjutsu cast by a Ganmi can have a different perceived flavor, apart from the illusion the toxin triggers. This flavor will stay present throughout the duration of the illusion and cannot be hidden or masked by the illusion itself; its the trigger, the signature but also the weakness of the skill.

Primary Effect - Illusion

This is the illusion triggered by the Toxin. It works similarly to any normal Genjutsu, where the chakra, carried and inserted by the pheromone-based toxin, is absorbed by the Taste and Smell receptors of the target and carried on to the brain, where they will disturb the chakra system and create an illusion, following the rules of Genjutsu. These do not necessarily pertain to Taste-based illusions, they can be as diverse as normal Genjutsu in terms of effects.

Secondary Effect - Emotion

This is essentially the difference between Ganmi Genjutsu and normal Genjutsu, as the pheromones , unlike other Genjutsu, can infuse the target with different Emotions, varying in degree, that will condition the target when perceiving the Illusion.

• Anger - The sense of anger will usually prompt the target to react, normally negatively, against the object of anger. This can be used to make the target focus on something, by making it the object of anger. Anger is usually accompanied with the need to get rid or destroy the object of anger. Anger will remove the ability to perform complex mind techniques, such as Genjutsu, and incite the target to utilize offensive techniques (by preventing Supplementary and Defense) up to a certain extent.
• Disgust - The sense of disgust will usually prompt the target to avoid and even repudiate something. Rather than meaning to destroy, the target will be less willing to come in contact with the object of disgust, and is usually accompanied with personal sickness and repulsion. Disgust will remove the target's sensory abilities, clouding the user's perception of reality ( doujutsu, chakra sensing, etc) and incites the target to utilize defensive techniques, ( by preventing Offensive and Offensive) up to a certain extent.
• Fear - The sense of fear will usually prompt the target to suspect and even shut down when exposed to the object of fear. It works, essentially, to create paranoia or actual paralysis, in a more refine version of Killing Intent. Fear will remove the target's ability to act, or, at least, hesitate, when exposed to the object of fear, up to a certain extent.
• Happiness - The sense of happiness will usually prompt the target to become content, or even attract the target to the object of happiness. It will essentially calm and lure the target, creating a sense of comfort or want for contact. It will usually lessens the target's intention of harming or negatively targeting the target ( with the exception of non harming binding techniques ), and prevents the target from using offensive techniques, while summons won't be able to attack at all, up to a certain extent.
• Sadness - The sense of sadness will usually remove the will of the opponent, when exposed to the object of sadness. It evokes negative and exhausting reactions on the target. Sadness will prevent the target from using Taijutsu techniques, as well as Supplementary techniques, opting for the more instantly gratifying Defensive or Offensive techniques, up to a certain degree.

The degree of which these effects take place depend on the technique used and are specific to each of the Genjutsu that will be submitted as clan arts. However, they are illusionary effects that can be countered same as any Genjutsu. Not only that but, since they are toxin/pheromone induced, they can be countered if the toxin/pheromone is removed from the system of the target. Because the pheromone has to be absorbed and introduced into the targets body, there is a small time window between tasting/smelling the pheromone and feeling the effects of the Genjutsu, normally one turn, with higher and complex techniques requiring sometimes more time. Basic rules also spread across all techniques in which a paralysis due to Fear (or similar) can only be affect up to same ranked targets; technique restrictions vary and are defined in each technique specifically; rain, extremely dry environments and other hindering environmental conditions reduce effects by half and increase induction time by x2.

After-Taste

This is the remnant of the Ganmi Genjutsu after it is countered. For twice as long as the Ganmi Genjutsu was in place, the target will still experience the fundamental flavor that triggered the technique. This will mean that the target will taste that (bitter, sweet, etc) despite being out of the illusion which in turn will prevent him from tasting any other Ganmi Genjutsu within that time frame.

Restrictions:

• All 3 types of Effect happen simultaneously in a Ganmi Genjutsu Technique.
• Only one type of Secondary Effect can happen per Ganmi Genjutsu
• Throughout the duration of a Ganmi Genjutsu, no other Ganmi Genjutsu can be used.
• Ganmi Genjutsu follow Genjutsu Layering and Countering Rules, as well as the normal restrictions and mechanics of regular Genjutsu.
So Ill touch on each one briefly and give a minor example if unclear.

Fundamental Effect – Flavor is pretty much the easiest yet hardest way to tell your under a Ganmi Genjutsu because of the tall tell of suddenly feeling a certain way so for example on this: “Sweet sweetness, it’s ever growing flavor perfumed the palate of the enemy, it’s presence made clear to whom it choices”. Its an effect that can’t be hidden nor blocked but if you pick the flavor wisely like a spicy one when using a fire based Ganmi Genjutsu or a peppermint flavor due to a snowy illusion; it can be masked slightly as the enemy without knowledge of how our techniques work will think its basically part of it.

Primary Effect – Illusion is self-explained, it’s the illusion itself so no need to go into depth about this one.

Secondary Effect – Emotion is well, the emotions that you invoke into a person. It’s once again pretty easy to understand but each emotion actually has a hindering affect to it that you should you pay attention on. We’ll go over those more in a bit

And lastly After-Taste

This is the remnant of the Ganmi Genjutsu after it is countered. For twice as long as the Ganmi Genjutsu was in place, the target will still experience the fundamental flavor that triggered the technique. This will mean that the target will taste that (bitter, sweet, etc) despite being out of the illusion which in turn will prevent him from tasting any other Ganmi Genjutsu within that time frame.

A pain in the ass but yea, if you don’t get it is simple. If a person was a in Ganmi Genjutsu for two turns, he cant be affected by another one for four turns etc. Ill let you read this over and then we’ll start going over the techniques etc.

Fair enough. All sounds simple enough to understand, I guess I'll have a while to master it. Also there's a typo in there; in the disgust emotion, where it says offensive and offensive, I guess one should be supp or defensive.

Alright sorry for the delay on my end, so here we are with the start of the clan techniques. One of the few things I want to point is that some of the techniques in the clan have inherit bonuses to them; while they aren’t exactly like a +20 dmg boost or anything it’s the reason why I suggested to you the certain specialties in your bio so you can make the best out of them. Alas we now go into the first Genjutsu of the clan; Taste Illusionary Arts: Fruitful Bounty ⋓ Harvest.

One thing Id also point out is that these three techniques are all based on techniques owned by Lili or canon techs, so I may post the parent technique it was modeled after for you to gain a better idea since these techniques are simply Ganmi Versions of them but of course more diverse and versatile. Now enough of the rambling, here is the description “Harvest is one of the basic applications of the Ganmi Genjutsu. It is versatile in terms of effects and chakra cost in order to cover a wide range of applications, as well as accompany the user in terms of hierarchy within the clan, with lower clansmen having access to lesser ranks. Here, the user will use the Primary Taste of the Illusion to change how the opponents perceives the world around them with the 5 basic senses, similar to False Surroundings. It does not change how the targets see people, animals, or even themselves, only creates or alters terrains, and inanimate objects or beings. The Secondary Taste allows the user to alter the way the opponents feel their surroundings, or how the surroundings make the opponents feel, based on the 5 basic Ganmi”

Its self-explained; a Ganmi version of the False Surrounding but this can get even better with your own imagination – as in the outlined examples you can in the case of fear “Fear: This is meant to paralyze or make a person suspect of the terrain changed. The object of the illusion will cause great fear upon the target. Ex: Create a black wall that will seem too big, too imposing, too insurmountable for the opponent to destroy or evade, or do anything but stare at it”.

Along side this allow me to explain the process of how the Genjutsu works in terms of casting “The user is required to describe a spread of toxins through the air 1 turn before he/she is able to perform this technique, or have had an active Saliva technique in the previous turn within 10 meters range of the target(s)” a clause built into all the techniques, so if its turn one in a battle and you have first move. You can as a example – start off releasing the pheromone from your body as it is passively done and doesn’t cost a move while distracting a person with an attack which should ideally cause them either risk the spread of the pheromone or get hit. It’s good passive even if you don’t pull the technique off as it has a sort of crowd control effect built in. You can also use the saliva technique for an attack while also releasing the pheromone from the saliva as you attack, or release it from both your body and attack at once.

So once the person has been exposed to the pheromone for one turn, you can then cast the illusion in the next turn afterwards with the needed hand seals and other stuff. “Taester require 4 handseals in order to cast this technique. They can only use it up to C rank. Biiter require the same number of handseals but can use up to B rank. Savor require 3 handseals and can use it up to A rank. Paladar require 2 handseals and can use it up to S rank. A Flavoron Paladar and the Candymaker require only 1 handseal.
Having Genjutsu as the Primary Specialty allows the user to shave 1 handseal from the total required.”

These are the inherit bonus so to speak; which you’re at rank 2 so you can only use the illusions up to C rank as of right now; needing four hand seals but with the Genjutsu mastery it will be 3 instead and forth. If you have any questions, let me know as we do some IC practice with it. I’m gonna power play this next reply and assume some time has passed and Kairi has come to understand the basics of the clan now.

One last thing id like to point out is that persons with higher rank than you can resist the emotion manipulation similar to like how Killing Intent works but its only when a two rank difference exists as you can still affect people one rank above you – but your Kage so that restriction is pretty none existent also when it comes to an emotion where it says “x person can’t use offensive techniques” is techniques in general with offensive marked in them. So regardless if its “Supplment, Defense, Offensive” or any variations – they can’t use techniques with offensive at all while affected by the emotion. It’s powerful so be careful how you use it.

Your IC task is just use the technique as descriptive as you can.

Alas, the youngling has come into her coming of age. Kairi, this youth was the future of the clan – one whom Neo has been proud to have trained this far into the teachings of their ancestors but it was time to become more serious as the pheromones perfumed the environment, Kairi was now a victim to the Candy Maker. The ground, it rumbled as though the whole world was shaking, jagged rock formations composed of swirling designs to that of a peppermint stick rose outwards. One by one, the minty flavored structures pierced into the body of the trainee, she wanted to flee – the pain being too immense for her to handle on her own.

She lost the while to fight, as the peppermint had finally swallowed her alive; her body devoid of life as the fear of the lost world crumbles onto her psyche. Neo had clasped her hands, releasing the illusion and waiting for Kairi to repeat as she showed her the hand seals.

Ganmi Genjutsu: Mihoufu ⋓ Minori ) Taste Illusionary Arts: Fruitful Bounty ⋓ Harvest
Type: Supplementary/Offensive
Rank: D-S
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra Points: 10-40
Damage Points: 20-80
Description: Harvest is one of the basic applications of the Ganmi Genjutsu. The Secondary Taste allows the user to alter the way the opponents feel their surroundings, or how the surroundings make the opponents feel, based on the 5 basic Ganmi Emotions, as stated in clan's description. They fall under one of 5 category:
• Anger: The changes done to the terrain will be perceived negatively. This is usually meant to create a decoy of focus onto the surroundings, rather than entities within the battlefield. The target will chase after the terrain or target the terrain or a specific inanimate object. Ex: Create a red curtain behind the opponent, which will prompt him to direct his attacks at the curtain. A wall created with this will be a target to destroy, not to avoid.
• Disgust: This is meant to guide the target away from the terrain creations, and guide them into a specific place or just make them lose focus on their surroundings or specific directions. The target will be disgusted by the terrain constructions and move away from it. Ex: Create a wall of mucus that will prompt the target to move away from it, or go around it, not targeting it but rather avoiding it.
• Fear: This is meant to paralyze or make a person suspect of the terrain changed. The object of the illusion will cause great fear upon the target. Ex: Create a black wall that will seem too big, too imposing, too insurmountable for the opponent to destroy or evade, or do anything but stare at it.
• Happiness: This is meant to calm and attract the target to the terrain feature. This could attrack someone into it, or guide them in this way. Ex: Create a yellow pillar which the target will focus on and travel to, rather than avoiding or wanting to destroy.
• Sadness: This is meant to remove the will of the opponent into doing anything. The terrain will elicit more extreme action of either defend from it or attack it. Ex: Create a blue wall that saddens the opponent, making him sad and exhausted and prompt him to do something gratifying, either destroy it or hide from it.

A person targeted by this technique can still perceive damage from the surroundings, being constricted or even cut, but only as external damage. Given the different method of casting, and the additional properties, a clansmen, especially newly started, does not require Genjutsu in order to use this technique though Genjutsu is required to use it to it's fullest potential. Without Genjutsu knowledge, the user will be able to attach an emotion to an aspect of the terrain, without actually creating a complex Primary Taste illusion, which requires Genjutsu mastery. Non-Genjutsu usages make, for example, trees appear darker or lighter, depending on the tone of the emotion, but can't be considered anything but premature Genjutsu. The rank of the user and the opponent play crucial point. Rather than wanting to move away or towards something, one can feel just an hesitation or a unforcefull will to go that can be ignored, if the difference is too big and the opponent too strong.

The user is required to describe a spread of toxins through the air 1 turn before he/she is able to perform this technique, or have had an active Saliva technique in the previous turn within 10 meters range of the target(s).
Taester require 4 handseals in order to cast this technique. They can only use it up to C rank. Biiter require the same number of handseals but can use up to B rank. Savor require 3 handseals and can use it up to A rank. Paladar require 2 handseals and can use it up to S rank. A Flavoron Paladar and the Candymaker require only 1 handseal.
Having Genjutsu as the Primary Specialty allows the user to shave 1 handseal from the total required.
All the inherent restrictions of the Clan apply to this technique.

Understood. I dont think I have any questions for it so far, it seems pretty good.

Kairi was curious to test her new power and with the example shown from Neo, she was beginning to understand just how her powers were going to work. She would calm herself down after the genjutsu was released on her, and would start to concentrate as pheromones were released around her, allowing them to escape from her pores, to float through the air and be carried on the wind. Soon the entire area would have Kairi's pheromones dancing around allowing her to target Neo with a genjtusu like she was shown. By performing the 3 handseals, Kairi would inject her chakra into Neo as a small flower bloomed in front of Neo, releasing a alluring fragrance of vanilla from itself. Neo would feel an accomplished sense of pride and happiness as she looks at the flower, thinking about how the future of the Ganmi clan would be safe within the hands of this young woman, her ability with genjutsu showing to be a natural talent. As Neo would bend down to pick up the flower, it flower itself would turn to acid, burning her hand and melting the skin off causing a shock as the happiness fades as Kairi releases the genjtusu.

Now we move onto the next technique which is modeled after one of Lili’s more personalized technique. This variation now allows you to manipulate how you make the opponent few others around them, as you can alter yourself, making new people or other sentient beings, techniques other people use or even the made up ones performing their own technique. Pretty simple but take a crack at it and use two emotions to attach to it.

Kairi would think about the next technique as it was shown to her, and tries to comprehend what she could do with it. After getting an idea, she releases the toxins, and allows them to once more spread around the area till she was ready. Then, after 3 handseals she would inject her chakra into Neo, as Kairi would put her hand into her pouch, and pull out two shuriken, but as the chakra mixes with Neo, she would simply see Kairi pull out of her pocket two juicy plastic wrapped caramel chews. Neo would feel the happiness that Kairi would bring some tasty snacks for Neo to try as Kairi offers them towards Neo increasing the happiness as a smile breaks out over Neo's face, that crinckling of the wrappers rolling around in Kairi's hand. As Neo takes a step forward, Kairi throws the candy away to the shock of Neo, as Kairi releases the genjutsu just as a dull thunk would hit the tree as the two shuriken embed themselves within it.

Not bad but trust me, you can do a little better. I’ll link my training with Lili once we are done so you can really see some insight on how we modeled the use of our illusions alongside another thread that has some amazing display of descriptive Genjutsu! Now then we move onto the final technique of the Ganmi Genjutsu – this being “Taste Illusionary Arts: Chocolate Pleasure ⋓ Indulgence”

“Indulgence is one of the basic applications of the Ganmi Genjutsu. It is versatile in terms of effects and chakra cost in order to cover a wide range of applications, as well as accompany the user in terms of hierarchy within the clan, with lower clansmen having access to lesser ranks. Here, the user will use the Primary Taste of the Illusion to change how the opponents perceive themselves, based on the 5 basic senses, similar to The Voodoo of the Headless Chicken.”

Now this is the variation of the Ganmi Genjutsu that allows you to manipulate how the opponent sees themselves – so cutting off their arm etc. Yet again, basic stuff, hard to master. You know the drill, to which after this we will move onto the next rank and begin your teaching in Saliva Manipulation.
( Ganmi Genjutsu: Kyoushokora ⋓ Koumenzaifu ) Taste Illusionary Arts: Chocolate Pleasure ⋓ Indulgence
Type: Supplementary/Offensive
Rank: D-S
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra Points: 10-40
Damage Points: 20-80
Description: Indulgence is one of the basic applications of the Ganmi Genjutsu. It is versatile in terms of effects and chakra cost in order to cover a wide range of applications, as well as accompany the user in terms of hierarchy within the clan, with lower clansmen having access to lesser ranks. Here, the user will use the Primary Taste of the Illusion to change how the opponents perceive themselves, based on the 5 basic senses, similar to The Voodoo of the Headless Chicken. They fall under one of 5 category:
• Anger: The changes done to himself will be perceived negatively. This is usually meant to create a decoy of focus that change or body part, and make the target want to destroy it. Ex: Create a reptile skin on someone's hands which will make them want to destroy it, and, with it, the hand itself.
• Disgust: This is meant to guide the target away from the change. The user will not want to use the body part or focus on it. Ex: Create blisters on someone's hand, preventing them from wanting to use the to make handseals or hand gestures.
• Fear: This is meant to paralyze or make a person suspect of the changed body part. The object of the illusion will cause great fear upon the target. Ex: Turn their feet into demons that will scare the target into paralysis.
• Happiness: This is meant to calm and attract the target to the terrain feature. This could attract someone into it, or guide them in this way. Ex: Make someone's hands into a strawberry cheesecake, so yummy, making them want to eat their hands.
• Sadness: This is meant to remove the will of the opponent into doing anything. The body part will elicit more extreme of either defend from it or attack it. Ex: The user's eyes are blind, what's the point of even seeing or doing anything?

It does not change how the targets see other people, animals, or even the terrain only creates or alters body parts, and techniques used by the target. The Secondary Taste allows the user to alter the way the opponents feel about themselves and their techniques, or how certain parts or his techniques make them feel, based on the 5 basic Ganmi Emotions, as stated in clan's description. A person targeted by this technique can still perceive damage, being constricted or even cut, by altering the body directly or by using the opponent's techniques against him, within the illusion. Given the different method of casting, and the additional properties, a clansmen, especially newly started, does not require Genjutsu in order to use this technique though Genjutsu is required to use it to it's fullest potential. Without Genjutsu knowledge, the user will be able to attach an emotion to an aspect of the target, without actually creating a complex Primary Taste illusion, which requires Genjutsu mastery. Non-Genjutsu usages make, for example, the opponent appear darker or lighter, depending on the tone of the emotion, but can't be considered anything but premature Genjutsu.

Yeah I think once i start using it more Ill get the hang of it.

Kairi was curious to see her power grow, looking at the next technique that was shown for her to use. It focused more on manipulating the opponent and how they perceive themselves. This was getting more and more interesting as the day went on. Kairi was no releasing her toxins and pheromones once more, she would think of how to use the Ganmi Arts next. After getting an idea, Kairi would once more form the seals and inject her chakra into Neo to induce a genjutsu, a scent of a sweet honey wafting through the area, of a crisp and fresh meadow full of flowers would be imagined. Feeling like one with nature for Neo, she would want to join even more which started where her lower half of her body would start to turn into the stem of a plant, her legs turning green as the grass rapidly grew up around her and swallowed her feet. As soon as it did, she felt a warmth and kindness of the earth, providing her with an overwhelming sense of bliss at being one with nature as she was rooted into the ground, the vines shooting up her body, wrapping her around and around, every inch of the vines providing even more sweet honeyed bliss untill Kairi snapped her fingers and as Neo looked upwards once more, it was allgone. No vines, no meadow, no honey aroma, just the two of them together.

Alright, that brings an end to the Ganmi Genjutsu section – and as you are now rank three in the clan. You gain the following benefits:

Biiter [Rank 3]:

They possess the clan's inherited ability of Taste Sensory, allowing them to pinpoint tastes and their sources with great accuracy within a radius of 300 meters. They are able to distinguish between different people and animals, and a huge variety of different molecules and elements. They have access to more Clan's techniques, including Saliva techniques. They're known as Biiters, due to their introduction to Saliva Manipulation.

To achieve this rank, one needs to be at least Jonin.
Alongside this you can now use the clan Genjutsu up to B rank now instead, and now with even less hand seals – but alas we enter the Saliva Ninjutsu aka Saliva Manipulation aka Black Tongue Arts. Now this is the easier portion to teach so read through these and let me know if you have any questions.

Corrosive Saliva
( Tsuba no Ki )

With the constant output of chakra into the user's mouth, they began developing a much greater control over the their own saliva, altering it's toxicity to accomodate the constant tasting and taste-related actions, and even using it in battle. This allows the user to passively manipulate their own saliva through basic chakra, Ninjutsu, similar to Cloth, Paper and Flower users, by infusing their Glands and actual Saliva with their own chakra.

It does not stand as the ability to turn chakra into Saliva, as this is not an Elemental Technique. If the user's saliva producing glands are inviable, he/she won't be able to access this ability. This ability will have actual techniques to support it, created with the proper format. The techniques are similar to Water jutsu, and have similar strength and weaknesses, with the exception of its corrosive properties which are able to dissolve all biological matter ( strong against biological elements like Wood, Mushroom, Plant, Flesh, etc ).

The ability came into play from the Ganmi's natural curiosity and earn for experiencing multiple tastes, to increase their Taste Map. Over the time, their saliva would pick up toxic waste and pathological bacteria, that that would adapt to and control. The Ganmi Corrosive Saliva adaptation, which they refer to as Black Tongue, is similar to the adaptations of Komodo Dragons, or other poisonous (but not venomous) animals and plants. They are able to mask the natural fetid scent (which is actually alluring and pleasant to other Ganmi, in their passive and unfocused state), through innate taste-manipulation techniques, making their breath smell as normal as other humans, but still allowing the alive to be toxic and corrosive to biological matter, which helps with their digestion.

In offensive usages, the techniques will unleash their smell restriction, and will be corrosive even to other Ganmi. They achieve this increase in their saliva's toxicity by augmenting the concentration and volume, through chakra stimulation and infusion.

Restrictions:

• The user cannot create Saliva from chakra, only induce the production of Saliva.
• The user is able to change the toxicity and corrosion of the saliva and is granted a degree of immunity to only his own saliva, not other user's or other toxic/poisonous/corrosive elements.
• Saliva is manipulated in liquid form, similar to water
• Saliva follows Water's elemental S&W, except in it's strength against Biological Elements (Wood, Mushroom, Plant, Germ, etc)
• If the user's glands aren't functional, saliva production ceases as normal.
• Saliva techniques will be submitted individually.
• Power and quantity depends on the user's rank in power and within the clan.

Neo, truly impressed with her progressed gave Kairi a scroll for her to read up on about the manipulation of her saliva.

( Tsuba Kijutsu: Myousake ⋓ Meiwain ) Black Tongue Arts: Dark Licorish ⋓ Nectar
Type: Supplementary
Rank: A
Range: N/A
Chakra Cost: +10 chakra for each water technique
Damage Points: N/A
Description: Nectar is the most basic application of the Black Tongue Techniques. Because it’s intimately connected with the basic element Water, in behavior, weaknesses and strengths, the primary purpose of this technique is to describe and adapt Ganmi’s corrosive Saliva to any known Water Techniques that are or can be spat from the mouth. Through this technique, the user will activate the salivary glands and infuse them with chakra, spitting out any amount of saliva and then modelling it after a known spat Water Technique. The user pulls from the mouth, instead of the gut, but the saliva will follow everything else about the original water technique that is being adapted, including handseals and restrictions. While intimately related to water, a clansmen doesn’t necessarily require the water element to use this basic technique, though becomes severely restricted by the lack of it. For non-water users, this technique can be merely used as an A rank blast of saliva, that can take the form of a thin stream or a scattered splash. It costs 30 chakra points ,deals 60 damage points also reaching up to mid range. Adapted defensive techniques gain offensive properties due to the corrosive nature of the saliva if applicable and logical, dealing damage equivalent to its rank.
*Water users will need to post this technique alongside the desired water technique; it will not count as a move despite requiring more chakra than the water technique original requires*
*Water users are capable of using the non water users variant*

(Ganmi Jutsu: Pekotaberu ⋓ Pekogakidou ) Taste Technique: Insatiable Desire ⋓ Dulce de Leche
Rank: C- S
Type: Offensive/Supplementary/Defensive
Range: Short – Long
Chakra Cost: 15-40
Damage Points: N/A
Description : This technique encompasses the one of the most complex techniques within the clan, making use of the user's Taste senses and Saliva manipulation, by taking the enemies techniques and actually “eating” the chakra of the technique, digesting it and turning the neutralized chakra into saliva, which the user can then shoot out back at the opponent. The user will inhale, manipulating their Saliva glands to create a syphon of chakra-filled saliva that is connected towards the user’s mouth. The syphon, through shape manipulation and its corrosive properties, will takeover the enemies technique and begin to dissolve chakra located inside of the technique, actually breaking it down, as user draws the technique inside their gullets, “eating” the weakened and now harmless chakra. The technique can also be used on techniques that are in direct contact with user by simply biting the technique or siphoning it in, with the Saliva and repeating the process but much quicker. This siphon and digestion of chakra can only happen in situations where the saliva technique, with it's described S&W, is capable of neutralizing ( equal ) or overpowering ( stronger ) the targetted technique.

When the user is capable of neutralizing the technique, the user will simply eat the chakra and metabolize it into their own chakra resources, in an ammount equal to the technique eaten. When the user is capable of overpowering the technique, then the full amount of chakra dissolved will be converted into damage, 1:2 ratio, sending back a blast of corrosive saliva at the opponent. The end technique is a Saliva technique.

*Siphon is short-range, while the blast can reach up to Mid-Range ( Savors and bellow ) or Long-Range ( Paladar and above ).
*Can only be used 5 times and requires 1 turn cooldown before using again. Savours can use the technique up to A-Rank, rest of the lower ranks can use the technique up to B-Rank. S-Rank can only be used by Paladars and above and once used renders the technique only usable one more time.

These are the basic saliva manipulation techniques currently available to us. The first one acts as precursor to our innate ability to manipulate our saliva though I intend on making an update later on once I start working full time on the clan – but yea it basically allows you to utilize your saliva as medium to perform spewed water techniques. This of course isn’t treated as water release so be careful with like infusions unless it allows it infuse into liquids in general. You can also use it as general manipulating technique by releasing streams of it or splattered blasts/gloubes of it.

The second technique is a personal technique of mine that I had Lili submit. Its our own unique version of the absorption technique – where the saliva breaks down a technique by siphoning chakra out of it and making it your own for future use. Your basically “eating” chakra so to speak.
