i guess it is a problem with the cooling u have there
either ur graphic card or ur processor
i had this problem before and i discovered later that my cpu is getting hot due to the lack of cooling so i just changed the fans and everything worked fine ^^

I don't think it would be this because if the CPU was overheating it wouldn't fix the problem until you turn off the computer for about a good 10mins. The only thing I can think of would be that your video card is about to go out and/or if your video card is the one overheating make sure you get a program to check the temp of your PC usually they have ones that check the CPU temp and so on, I know mine beeps really lowed if its start to overheat, but with your video card make sure your heat sinks are still on them or if they even came with one.
