Gai will not defeat madara and will die in vain?

after watching the new chapter of naruto 669 i watched the last part carefully when naruto opens his eye and most likely he will meet the sage =D
but ........ o.o

doesn't that mean that mardara wont die by the hand of gai and that naruto might gain power or so and fight madara again defeating him :klaus:

if that so then gai would only have brought some time for naruto to return and continue the fight with madara all that for the cost of his life for using the 8 gate ? :eww:

i already knows what happen and the real reason gai is doing it. the point is not to defeat madara which even the 8 gates cant hes trying to weak him long enough for the others to do the job
