I think the heart that Kakashi broke was a water mask, but for some mysterious reason Kakuzu ( or Kishi ) didnt want to use Domu anymore.

And for kicks, look here, Tenten takes out the lightning mask so easily she doesn't even realize at first that it was her.

The point is, even low-tier characters have surpassed Kakuzu at the current time in the manga, and Guy is high-tier fighting against opponents such as Obito and Madara. There is a big difference in strength here, it's obvious when we compare the opponents Guy faces to the opponents Kakuzu faces.
