-He should be able to take Gai's kicks and punches with little to moderate damage considering he took Chidori with very little damage, and that was piercing technique.
-If he can't, he always has the speed and definitely has the reaction speed advantage against Gai.
-Also, Gai definitely can't take Ay's hits. 1 of them will leave him dead or in critical condition. Not even going to mention a Liger Bomb, though he'd have to catch Gai first, which shouldn't be too hard though since Ay is probably faster than Fifth Gate Gai.

Ay definitely wins even if you allow Guy to use the 6th and 7th gates. His punches aren't taking down Ay.
Chidori didn't pierce all the way through, and isn't that only because they were both Raiton techs?
Gai's shown incredible pain tolerance, he was able to use Hirudora even though he was at his limit, and it seems as though he was able to use a lesser version of Hirudora against Madara's Susanoo. You don't think Gai's reactions aren't enough to keep up with V1 Ay's speed?

]That isn't pain tolerance, he nigh passed out right after doing so against, not to mention that's more of a stamina issue than it is pain, and its nowhere near the kind of pain that will come to him if Ay Karate Chops him, especially since it was strong enough to break through a Ribcage Susanoo. He's getting some bones broken and smashed.

I just don't like making definite claims before actually cross referencing with the manga, but I've done that now, and I am sure that Ay definitely beats Gai.
When 2 Raiton-based techs clash regardless of what the purpose of the tech is, the stronger one comes out on top. Sasuke aimed right for his heart but all he managed was inflicting a flesh wound, and the fact that there's a close-up of the tech not fully piercing Ay followed up by a 'Tch!', implies it didn't go the way Sasuke wanted it to. I'm pretty sure if it wasn't for the Raiton armour, he would have managed what Kakashi was able to against Kakuzu [

You guys don't think 7th Gate Guy can take Ay? Maybe I've been overestimating him.
I still recon Guy in 7 gates can win this. Dozens of Morning peacock punches will hurt him, it's not like it's just 1 punch. Daytime tiger knocked back Susanoo. I'm gonna stick with the Green Beast.

Not seeing your point here. How does this change the fact that he took a Chidori with no damage whatsoever? In fact this only reinforces why Gai's punches and kicks aren't going to do any serious damage to Ay.
Even if he used it in base, not only can Ay evade this since its not anywhere near as large as it was when he used it on Kisame, since its not anywhere as strong as when he used it on Kisame, he can pretty much take it and still be alive to fight since the much less durable Kisame took a stronger Hirudora and was still able to move.
I know his reactions and speeds are better than Jugo's, my point was to simply show Ay's speed. I know that he isn't going to blitz Gai while in V2, though keeping up with him should be child's play.
Also, Sasuke was seeing Haku's movements via 2-Tomoe Sharingan, his speed isn't even great enough to consider reacting to it an impressive feat, not when Sasuke was doing it at the beginning of Part 1. Kakashi's Sharingan was keeping up with Lee, whoever said it wasn't? Kakashi stating that he is fast doesn't mean anything, especially since later on Kakashi reads much faster things with his Sharingan.
