Asuma, Might Guy has Taijutsu skills and the 8 Gates but his experience doesn't compare to Asuma who speclize in both Taijutsu and Ninjutsu. Asuma was also a member of the Twelve Elite Guardians that protect the Fire Country Daimyou. He moves around a lot while protecting the Daimyou so he would be more self aware of enemies attacking and thats why he has more experience, I think. Asuma would win but barley.

Gai would win. And he is not restricted to Taijutsu, He can use Ninjutsu he just doesn't choose to. I think it might be to motivate lee though..
