He was owned but did far better than sasuke..madara even said Gai was underestimating him meaning Gai wasn't at full power..going against a juubi jin, he did pretty ok
Anyways, Gai is fast enough to dodge amaterasu

I am sorry, am I missing something. Who had problems with Gai and who was not able to keep track of his movements? Even Gaara could see Gated Gai, but Sharingan fails. Funny Gai fans. He gets merked. gai laughs in the face of amaterasu, does a jog around the village, comes back and proceeds to do 1000 push ups and THEN moves out of the way.

Amaterasu is so overrated and gai's speed is so heavily underrated, even when we have just been given feats of him pushing back juubidara with his speed and taijutsu. Of course it wasn't enough to hurt him that much, but he was able to temporarily put juubidara on the defensive.

Obviously in the chapter he was pushed back twice, so idk why you would say such nonsense to begin with. He wasn't moving fast, it was Gai moving so fast that it seemed Madara was barely moving. Go back and look at the lee and Garra fight, it happened there too.

At the last shadow we see Gai preparing a hand seal, which at the bottom we see that hand seal close up.
