Gaara WILL defeat Jiraiya.

Jiraiya's toad summons make it hard for Shinboi to take advantage of the battle simply by using flight techs.

Jiraiya's Katon along with Gama's oil release is on a scale possibly larger than Gaara's attacks.

Use Jiraiya's Senbon hairs would make for incredible long range projectile offenses.

Gaara can make the terrain his own pretty quickly (So can Jiraya)

His defense is almost unparalleled in NU.

He can see what his opponent is doing without getting in range of a majority of attacks. ( the range of Gama genjutsu seems to be pretty big, and with Bunta getting in range should not be hard anyway.)

You do know Jiraiya can create quite a large ammount of oil.
Oil > sand

Jiraiya is so underrated,
Fire and Earth jutsu's, can create Oil.
Summons with Water/Fire/wind and can also create Oil and Ma+Pa have a strong Genjutsu.
He can also create a barrier around him that detects any movement while inside the barrier.

So, you mention a lot of Jiraiya's abilities but have you really paid attention to Gaara's arsenal and what he has accomplished, give the guy some credit please.

Against Gaara's sand these jutsus won't really do much damage besides do you know that Gaara can attack multiple times at a go? Which is really bad for Jiraiya.

I have to disagree. Gaara is extremely strong, but he uses sand and Jiraya can summon frogs who can use oil and water techniques. If I am not mistaking: Jiraya can use his wind chakra with the water techniques who can creat stronger jutsus, Gaara's sand is weak to water. When Jiraya summon Ma and Pa for sage mode he gets way more stronger, faster, more energy to use techinques + Ma and Pa's oil and water techniques.

This was a good thread with good information, but Jiraya is stronger. It would be a good fight, but I really doubt that Jiraya can lose to Gaara.

Why do you support Jiraiya without valid reason's, is it because he is so famous, a legendary sannin? Because most people seem to support popular characters instead of looking at jutsus and other accomplishments while some find it hard to accept that their favourite character can be defeated.

Idk but i think a giant rasengan can break through his ultimate defense, though its never been tested since no one has ever hit garra with a rasengan.

Gaara's sand is not weak against water and even the master of oil, the second mizukage could not defeat Gaara with it. The saying that oil will render sand useless is true but the oil too does not render the sand useless without being stopped by the sand. So both oil and sand attacks just cancel out each other.
And Gaara can create more sand to use while Jiraiya cannot create more oil btw Gaara can counter the oil by using lots of sand that is easily available to him.

sure he could fly high enough to avoid Jiraiya's taijutsu and close range ninjutsu.
but he can't avoid those frogs jumps or ninjutsu forever.
plus rasengan could probably pierce or destroy a sand shield.

This is what I imagine would happen.

Jiraiya summons frogs
Jiraiya rides a frog
frog jumps
Jiraiya jumps of rasengans Gaara.

or
Jiraiya summons frogs
frogs swarm with taijutsu and ninjutsu which could probably penetrate his sand.

and this is not even taking into account sage mode.

lol. jiraya is far more experienced which counts in battle. there are countless things that jiraya can decimate gaara with but you are an extreme gaara stan. Jiraya isnt a legendary sannin for nothing you know.
