Gaara vs Minato!

Minato could win this one. Gaara's sand wasn't able to react to Lee's immense speed, which proves it has a period of lag time - the time it takes to detect and react.

If Lee was able to outspeed Gaara's sand, I don't see how Minato wouldn't be able to



Gaara is not a weakness to fast people.

Lee only got captured before he took off his weights. The second he took them off Gaara could not touch him. Hell, he couldn't even see him. In the end of the fight, Gaara was only able to catch Lee and crush his arm and leg because Lee was suffering from the effects of the 5th gate and couldn't move.

Deidara is not known for his speed, so I don't see why he's included.

A's Leg Drop wasn't as fast as his true speed. He wasn't slamming down on Sasuke at the same speed that he was dodging Amaterasu with. He was airborne and falling down onto Sasuke with a Leg Drop. Other than the fact that it was a nintaijutsu, it was a classic leg drop. Unless he can somehow fly in the air I don't see how you're comparing the speed of his Leg Drop to his overall speed.

As for Amaterasu, Gaara's sand was able to block it and it does indeed show that it's fast, but it still doesn't prove that Minato isn't a problem for him.

1. Gaara's sand was able to block Amaterasu
2. A was able to dodge Amaterasu
3. BUT, Minato was faster than A
If you put these lines of reason together, then the fact that Gaara's sand could block Amaterasu is null.

How do we know Gaara's sand is faster than Minato? We don't.

Minato dodged A's attack via FTG technique not raw speed, all he had to do is make a thought and he would teleport to one of his kunai.

If FTG is nullified by Gaaras sand than Minatos base speed will be nothing to worry about.

So:
Deidara flying is faster than base Minato because flight is faster than running on foot, Gaara still caught him and took his arm.

Rock Lee got tired due to the strain of using the gates is true, but similar effects will happen to Minato, he would soon get tired and start to slow either due to dodging and evading Gaaras sand or being on the offense and getting nowhere against Gaara.

Raikages leg drop is still super fast, it's not like he just jumped straight up in the air and fell on Sasuske there was more to it than that, there was a sure boost in acceleration.

Also Amaterasu is faster than Minatos base speed by far, Gaara was able to anticipate and block it multiple times.

If Minato throws his kunai over the battlefield Gaara will simply use his sand to pick them all up and fling them away or bury them in the earth. If Minato marks the turf then Gaara can use his sand to destroy anything Minato has marked; for example if Minato marks a rock or tree then Gaara would just use his sand like sandpaper and scrape the seal from existence, as easy as pie.

Also it's impossible to mark Gaaras sand since the sand is very minuscule and a simple gust of wind or shift of the sand by Gaara would destroy the seal.

And since when did it become easy for people to simply wash or rub the seal away? If you're saying that Gaara could get rid of Minato's markings by rubbing it with his sand, then by extension you're also saying that Water users could wash it away, or that Fire users could scorch them off. It makes no sense. If removing Minato's seals were that easy then Tobi would have done something similar.
