Is Guy to fast? I'm not sure what'd happen, The ultimate defence isn't enough to block the 8 gates.

Gai's incredibly fast but the question is would he be able to break through Gaara's defence with all his punches.

I would say that Gaara may take this if Gai opens 1-6th gate but by Very High-diff. But if Gai opens the 7th Gate then I would say he takes it Very-High diff.

If Gaara is given any kind of terrain advantage then he takes this match-up. No Sand terrain though, Gai takes it.

Gaara's sand couldn't keep up with part 1 rock Lee, and Gai has always been faster. Also, Gaara was beaten by Deidara (fanboys: "only because he was protecting his village!!" [NOBODY CARES!] ) and Gai was strong enough to beat someone as powerful as Kisame

Gai will literally fodderize Gaara with the 7th gate, imagine Gai going all the way...

That's what I said with sand Gaara is OP because even if Guy has 8 gates it gives him fatigue, plus Gaara has all those sand weapons in his arsenal, so I don't see it happening..

you set this battle up in favor of Gaara with sand being around....

you should try and make the surrounding area more fair! OT: Gai opens up the 8 Gates and destroys Gaara. My way of looking at it: Gai > Kisame >>>>> Gaara

 

[Overrated]

Gai is just a bad match-up for Gaara who is a long-range fighter. No matter how much sand Gai would run circles around it at 6 gates and he has PLENTY of strength to break through his sand not to mention experience. Gaara would have to try to keep him at a distance which would be next to impossible with no obstacles and how does water affect Gaara's sand? If it slows down his sand then Gai could possibly use that to his advantage as well since its not much sand. Anyways I don't see Gaara winning this.
