I call bullshit. If you look at gold by itself it's an extremely durable and dense material. Gaaras sand as it is can be compressed and made extremely dense with his own chakra to the point of making a body explode while having no blood seep out of the sand. With gold added to the mix Gaaras sand would be virtually indestructable, the only downfall I see to this is that the gold would make gaaras sand slower leaving him open to more attacks. All in all with golden sand, and his mother on his side I pick Gaara.
