On topic, I think TS made a very good point. But on a personal view, I think its a draw. Sasuke cant seems to hurt Gaara and it seems to apply to Gaara's attack on Sasuke too.

What put you under that impression? Sasuke could easily hurt Gaaraa the fight is more likely to be won by Sasuke than by Gaaraa.

we can compare gaara and sasuke from a similar opponent he fought.
that is deidara.
3t sasuke with his superior intelligence defeated deidara while gaara with jinchuriki lost.
one point to be noted.

gaara's only protection is sand.if gaara is fighting in a desert only then he can spam his sand aatacks but rather than that he only have his small pot of sand which is not enough since ems sasuke can literally spam amaterasu which would give him the victory.

if gaara is in desert he wins with high difficulty but except that he loses in all scenario

Gaara doesnt need to be in a dessert for sand he can crush up the rocks and minerals underground to create new sand, so in a sense it can be said that that hes always in a dessert

The evidence being posted on this thread points towards a good fight. If you say Gaara or Sasuke wins this easy-mid difficulty, then you're just embarrassing yourself.

No one is. At least I am saying that this match up would be pretty even but with an advantage to Gaara.

Also as people has been spamming the same statements ans questions that has been answered repeatedly the whole thread I'll just leave this thrad now as it is, no point in arguing with people who won't bother to read what has previously been said.

I disagree.
In your post you mentioned how sasuke cant defeat garra using genjutsu, Chidori or susanoo but not even once bothered mention how he is going to defeat sasuke.
Ms sasuke an garra might be of the same level but Ems is better then just Ms and hence EMS sasuke is out to be better then garra.
Whether you agree or not that's the fact.

The title is misleading but i was mainly going for how Gaara can defend against Sasuke's attacks then i left it up to you guys to debate if this could effect the battle.

We've only seen EMS susanoo once and it seems that he has better control with his enton.I'm going from what i've read so far not 'we haven't seen his true power yet derp' Gaara took on 5 walking Susanoo's and thats a feat that alot of the other 5 kages almost failed at.

Most interesting thread I've seen in a while. I actually think gaara has a good chance of beating sasuke. Susanoo arrow is the only major threat I see at the moment, but I wonder how it compares to madarAs magatama - which gaara blocked.

Alot of your points make sense, it's just that you don't go fully in depth or else you'd notice that Sasuke has a canon manga scan to negate every single one you've posted. First of all:

Gaara's answer to Amaterasu: Gaara managed to block direct Enton strikes that were launched at him from the front. Sasuke however, has far more deceptive means to connect with Amaterasu.
From coating an arrow with flames so that it can pierce through his sand defense and hit him, ignite his clothing if he manages to dodge.
From coating his own Susanoo in flames before crushing through his sand defense guaranteeing he grabs him with his flames. If he can slam through stone pillars he can slam through his sand defenses aslong as it's not a particularly large one.

From shooting an Amaterasu that he's forced to block before he fires an arrow right behind it (the speed is too much for Gaara to defend against as Gaara's one of the slower ninja in the manga).

Too fast for a Sharingan to trace? So fast it took Kamui to defend against? Gaara's incapable of dealing with that level of speed.

Counter to Genjutsu: This one is 100% wrong based on what's been shown by both characters. First of all, against Madara Gaara made no attempt to avoid eye contact. Secondly against Niidaime Mizukage, once he was caught in his clam's Genjutsu he made absolutely no attempt at escaping it (leading one to believe he simply couldn't). And lastly, look at Deidara's range when he gets hit by a basic confusion Genjutsu:
Starting range...
Still running...
Right... THERE. See that tiny dot? THAT'S how far away Sasuke was when he caught Deidara with a Genjutsu. To claim that close range is necessary for it to work you'd have to ignore this scan.

See what I mean? You don't just look at what Gaara's done to make your case. You have to look at Sasuke's aswell.

VS 5 Susanoo: Literally all of this fight was off panel, and once he was actually shown fighting against them he was getting ragdolled. And this was against an opponent who was toying with him no less. This is hardly a point you want to bring up in Gaara's favor, lol.

Counter to Chidori: The difference between your two scans is that you assume Sasuke's Chidori hits with the same force as Raikage's leg drop, when that's simply false. Chidori relies in speed to add to piercing power while that leg drop was little more than a hop. It wouldn't have had the same destructive force as a focused full speed Chidori. Even more proof of Chidori's superiority?
He just pierced through Raiton armor without full speed. They're both of the same element and should have canceled eachother out. Actually no, the armor should've defeated the Chidori outright because it's powered by Bijuu-level chakra. Instead Sasuke succeeds. But none of this is the real reason why Sasuke's raiton will allow him to tear down Gaara's sand...
Chidori Eisou... let's say it goes through the armor, but misses Gaara due to him moving to the side... what then?
BAM. Suprise pin cushion attack! No sand defense, and AoE equals dead Gaara.

So once again: Gaara is not superior to Sasuke. When it comes to strength I'll agree, his power overall is greater than Sasuke's on a sense of scale (i.e; he can crush a village under sand). But in a one on one fight, unless Gaara and Sasuke are fighting in a desert Sasuke has every tool to decisively defeat Gaara in every possible situation. In the air (hawks, enton, Genjutsu). On the ground (Susanoo arrows, enton, Raiton, Genjutsu) at long range (Genjutsu, Enton) at close to mid range (Genjutsu, Susanoo, Enton, Raiton).

I think you are forgetting Gaara's sand armor which he could shed if ever hit with the Amaterasu flames. As for genjutsu, Gaara does not have to be even in Sasuke's view if he doesn't want to. Even if they aren't in the dessert, he can make new sand with almost no effort. Gaara has been shown to go underground with his sand (chunin exams). Just because there is a dome of sand and Sasuke attacks it, it doesn't mean Gaara is still in it. Sasuke isn't a sensor. Gaara could have third eye floating high up in the air to keep an eye on Sasuke. From there Gaara could assault Sasuke from underground with sand tsunamis and whatnot.

As for the Susanos, I'll agree that he didn't do much to them, but he could block multiple at once. There is all this talk about Sasuke's arrows making the difference from these Susanos, but Sasuke alone doesn't choose the distance between them. Gaara could be right next to the Sasuke's Susano, meaning that the only viable attacks are melee (which he can block). Gaara could be underground, and in any scenario, could sink the Susano down in a Giant Sand Burial. Sasuke can't get out of 100+ feet of sand, with tons and tons of pressure forcing the Susano still.

In summary, Gaara can be completely safe from Amaterasu by shedding sand armor and re applying, and keeping underground where Sasuke has no way of sensing him. Genjutsu would be worthless against him unless Sasuke could get the third eye without Gaara realizing (which would be hard since it is watching Sasuke). Gaara can force the Susano deep underground, which the Susano has no counter to.
