Gaara genius and training methods?

i've been wondering for sometime now about Gaara's training methods

wut kind of insane training did he go thru to become kage at his age

and every time we see gaara fight, he always whips out a new technique

remember he barely beat lee in the chuunin exam, and he went to fight that

kimimaru(spelling), and summoned a tidal wave of sand. wtf xd does he just make it up in his head and apply the chakra and do it?

in the time-skip, he showed new techniques while fighting deidara, then he whipped out a new tech fighting sasuke, and even more in the latest chapter

the only one who could progress that much is itachi imo

sasuke is always looked as the main genius of the new gen. with facing all five kage and surving and damaging one, which is understandable but is gaara's geinus being unappreciated? shi said genius's like sasuke only come once in a while but gaara is the same age and became the KAZEKAGE, lol is that not amazing?


so my questions to y'all are:

does any one have any valid theories on his training methods?
and is his genius unappreciated?
and would you put his progression level on par with itachi or an uchiha for that matter?

well, he can do EVERYTHING as long as he has sand, in the battles vs kimmimaro, lee and sasuke he had "only" sand from his gourd, now he has in manga nice battlefield for himself and against deidara he would have won if he hadn´t protect his village

3. his progress is not on par with sasukes or itachis because he had the shukaku which gave him his sand control in the first place

Yeah I don't think his abilities really count since he was given automatic control of sand, he didn't even have to train for that. Really the only thing he can train is his imagination and his stamina to control more sand. And him becoming the kazekage isn't that amazing, Sasuke and Naruto are way above the average kage level now and they are younger than Gaara. Also I feel like there aren't too many great ninjas coming from Suna; Chiyo was pretty good, Sasori was IMO the best from Suna, of course the Suna kages, but we haven't seen very many strong characters from the Sand village. Plus I thought I read in the manga that Gaara only became kazekage so they could keep an eye on him.

negative... considering from the new manga that his mother and not the shukaku gave him the sand control, not just protection... basically shukaku didn't do shit for him.. lol

yes his genius is under appreciated...
