Very good point there. Gaara would have detected the clam very quickly with his sand detection. Good point.
I was condidering this as if the 2nd was still Edo. If he wasn't an Edo, Gaara would destroy him quickly enough.
If anyone has a decent defensive argument as to why not. Present it please. Also, please don't be agressive with ur reasoning. No need.

He had to save Oonoki, He had to take the full blast of joki boy, while using his strenght to make a big enough sand wall to protect countless fodders and oonoki

Gaara can use sand clones and he has sensor sand that he used to find an invisible muu

if he isn't edo "no brows" is going to have a nice sand coffin

But itsld be a high difficulty match since there's a water source nearby

but I don't remember the mizukage using water jutsus tho

He doesn't use water. He uses a sort of Oil.

I'm not clear whether we were discussing Edo-2nd or Real 2nd.

Think Gaara would give the Edo a freaking hard time even in 1 on 1 as Gaara would be fresh and would not have to worry about others. Would probably be 50:50.
Gaara would have owned the 2nd Mizukage if it had just been Gaara vs Normal Mizukage.

YOUR so wrong remember garra did find it he put oonoki on the air with his sand and with his sand eye and his sand it made it posible for oonoki to find it so yeah he did find it not oonoki second garra was handling welll if a 1vs 1 battle garra would of wont remember this was a edo tensei so he would being dead along time ago even with oli water sand would of still crush him

Garra did use gold dust but he analised himself during a battle with a edo tensei kage that shikamaru plus more intel. not only he know where the clam was he left oonoki destroy because he was taking care of mizukage but he woulf easy coffin it. oonoki was save many times by him in this fight and all the other ninjas i think if he wasnt a edo tensei he would being dead long time

without the gold dust, theres no way he couldve kept it up for long. Ur also forgetting at this point, gaara still dosent understand his powers. stop bringing up the battle where mizu pretty much told them all his techs and how to stop him. A large part of the fight would be gaara trying to figure out how the jutsu works while dodging attacks after he realizes that his OWN attacks arent doing anything, and then if he manages to destroy the clam, clam has a shell, so unless his sand has enough power to break it, mizukage will summon jokey boy. garra can defend over and over, but jokey boy will keep coming at him non stop, and mizu can still attack from the sidelines.
