Fuyuan

While the temple that once resided in the region of Fuyuan has long since been reduced to rubble and cleared out by the occupation of Solanaceae, the archives there have been seized as assets for Solanaceae to better understand the history and culture of the world they now inhabit. Instead of a temple, a grand library was built in its place; four spiraling towers situated facing true North, East, South and West, all interconnected by a series of sky bridges that lead from one into the other and surround a centralized courtyard where a collective of scholars, engineers and other leaders in various fields gather, harnessing both worldly and heavenly learnings and bringing them all together for a greater understanding.

The Awakening.
For over three years, had successfully disguised himself as one of the ninja monks of the ancient temple. Three months after turning 18, John showed up at the footsteps, disguised as beaten up victim; his clothes and appearance proving just that. Little did they know, a snake had entered their home.
Now, with blood in his hands and overwhelming fatigue in his body, he leaves the temple with dozens of corpses inside. Onto the new destination.

This post marks the beginning of my (our) mission using these storyboard elements:
Help a local trader by transporting his wares
Custom: Conceal a large asset

Summary: Astra’s travels take them to the southern end of the tea peninsula’s mountain range where a temple lay. They discover the inhabitants were killed and claim the temple for their own. After making sure no one could see them, including a clumsy trader, Astra surrounds the abandoned temple grounds in an inconspicuous formation of earth to hide it and prevent entry.

After putting a wide expanse of land behind them Astra’s course took them to a region less vertically challenged. They ignored the routes travelers used to navigate the mountainous terrain. Ninja don’t need such roundabout paths, they make their own. Fortunately, Astra knew exactly where their next stop was, a temple nestled in the southern end of the mountain range. So, Astra leapt from one level to the next, higher and higher, ascending at a speed normal people could only dream of, until the temple grounds were in sight.
By forging an alliance with the ninja monks Astra could gain access to their ancient archives, but no matter where they looked not a single monk could be found. The temple was empty. What they did find, however, were markings clearly made by weapons as well as remnants of dark stains set into walls and furniture. Their eyes did not lie. These were signs of battle, or rather, a massacre. “Shit. Don’t tell me all of them are...” Exiting the temple, their fears were confirmed on finding a number of graves, all seemingly dug at around the same time. Astra held a moment of silence for the deceased monks, more out of obligation than respect. It was the least they could do before taking everything they had. “Thank you all for your generous contribution toward Kaizen’s progress. Your legacy is in good hands now.”

With nobody around to protect the archives, Astra had to keep people out the only way they knew how. Without so much as a word to each other, the Stars split up. Of the five, one remained on the edge of the temple grounds while the rest went beyond that to positions where they observe the temple from a distance. The plan was to hide the unprotected temple from view but being seen would defeat the purpose. So, when Star-5 (We’ll call him Masaoka) found a lone trader beside a horse struggling with an overturned cart, he had to make him go away.

Masaoka put on his friendliest smile and approached the man. “I see you’re having some trouble there. Need a hand?” Startled by Masaoka sudden appearance, the trader nearly dropped the cart on himself. “Ah...yes. Grab this side...let’s push on three. One, twoah--!” With Masaoka pushing and the horse pulling it ahead, the small cart slipped from the trader’s grasp and flipped upright, rocking back into place Masaoka brushed his hands off and narrowed his eyes at the man. “You didn’t empty the cart before trying to flip it?” The trader looked embarrassed. “Heheheh. Thank you, sir. I’ll be on my way now.” As the trader took off down down the path Masaoka watched the cart roll through rough patches of earth and shake dangerously from side to side. Masaoka had to rush and hold it up to stop it from tipping over again. This idiot was going to kill himself driving so carelessly. “How about i escort you for a while?” The trader beamed. “Oh, i’d really appreciate it! You know, there used to be some kind monks around here who would help me through here but nowadays i haven’t seen them once. Wonder what happened?” Masaoka sat on the cart and slapped the man on the shoulder. “Don’t worry about it. I bet they’re out on some religious pilgrimage. You know how monks are. C’mon, let’s get going.”

So, as Masaoka guided the trader though the treacherous mountain passage, the other four Stars were getting started. Star-1 formed handseals and made the ground rise slowly beneath her. She focused on steadily increasing the earth’s volume while observing the changes she was making. The ground surrounding the temple rose smoothly into place, gradually growing taller than the temple itself in order to obscure it from view. Tapping into her inner artist, she deftly shaped and molded the landscape around the temple into subtle formations that would look entirely natural in that region, appearing to merge seamlessly with its mountainous surroundings. She made good use of existing trees and foliage to mask any imperfections in her work. The other Stars watched from a distance as the temple disappeared as if swallowed up by the mountain. She fought the urge to make the place less dull and boring while doing the finishing touches like covering up any paths that led to the temple. In fact, regular people would find it impossible to overcome the barricade and reach the temple even if they knew where it was. Even Astra was worried they wouldn’t be able to find the place again so they left a mark in the stone above the temple vaguely resembling an asterisk.

(Doton: Doryū Jōheki) - Earth Release: Earth Flow Rampart x2
Type: Supplementary/ Defensive
Rank: B
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra: 20
Damage: N/A
Description: By performing the Tiger hand seal the user then makes a gigantic rampart rise up beneath the user's feet, by shaping the ground and increasing the amount of earth with chakra. Depending on what the user imagines, the shape of the rampart can be anything from level ground to a steep, needle-like mountain. If the user increases the volume of earth too much, he can be forced to keep his chakra consumption down. The user can combine this jutsu with Water Style: Waterfall Basin Technique to create a waterfall.

Masaoka and the trader eventually finished their trip in tact. Before parting he told the trader about their clan and how to contact them if he ever needed assistance again. Astra didn't have all day so they headed east to the esteemed port city.

Coming from Wonju

Ryuu passed through one of Kaizen's land marks. He had never been here before, and it seemed to be a quiet place. He passed onwards to the next city, one that had much more activity in it.

Coming from here

Shaking his head a little with sadness at the fact that this land was not his anymore, Ryuu walked through, making note to return here soon for learning purposes.
