What is fuin ?

Fuin is everything to do with sealing and none to do with having fun. I'm kidding. It entails sealing inanimate objects, living beings, chakra, and can do various other things, so certainly a broad field which makes it one of the more elite abilities to have on your bios.​
Expanding on the "can do various other things" part, I've always personally related fuin to clutch maneuvers; when fights enter close range, a lot of times a timely fuin jutsu can either decide things or save you by the skin of your teeth.​
More often than not you can find fuin customs made as a preemptive against something. For example I know pervy has a passive fuin jutsu on his bios that pretty much makes chakra sensory (a whole adv. ninjutsu) completely useless against him, though it seems like an old technique which I doubt would be approved in today's settings.​
So yeah, it can be used in more ways than this post can do justice. Some of the fundamentals do stay the same though. There are 6 parts to fuin: target of the seal, this can be physical or energy based; the medium/vessel, essentially what's going to contain the aforementioned - this can be the sealing tag themselves; the trigger, not necessary, but it's something that activates the jutsu; the binding, this is where a lot of fuin techniques differentiate; chakra, like most other jutsus, it requires chakra to be expended, no exceptions here; and finally, the key - not all of them have it (in a lot of cases the trigger is just sufficient), however if you want to prematurely activate it, then some example of keys would be hand-seals, mental commands, etc etc.​
Fuinjutsu also dabbles in other areas such as medical ninjutsu and kinjutsu.​

Description: After clapping ones hands, this technique creates a spherical detection barrier above ground with the user at the center. At the user's command, the detection barrier can expand, grasping everything in the battle field. The user is able to detect anything that moves inside the barrier space with his or her own "sense".



A very useful technique where you will clap your hands together, and create a spherical detection barrier. This barrier allows you to "sense" in a certain way, up to Mid range, basically anything that moves within it. Useful if you don't have a form of Sensory.

Description: Kekkai Houjin is a high-level Fuuinjutsu trap technique. An array of explosive markers is jointly placed around the boundary of an area. If any opponent walks through the boundary, the seals will activate and explode.



After that, a technique that is a more of a trap. You will place an array of explosive markers in a boundary, which when the opponent passes it, causes an explosion. Pretty cool technique in general.

Don't like barriers? Well, here is the solution where you will insert chakra into an active barrier. This causes it to interfere with the source of the barrier, and cancel it out, causing it to shatter. However, it can only be used to B rank and below barriers.

I suppose my only question for the first jutsu is can it sense Hayabusas? :unsure:The second jutsu wouldn't be practical in things like battle arena fights, nobody is falling for such traps. It's more suited for ninja world missions. As for the last one, I'd say it's not really good in battles either. Reason being most used fuin customs/canons are A ranks and above. But like the previous one, I think it's much more suited for missions. I'll probably try to incorporate the last two on this nw mission I'm doing rn.​

This technique can be used in conjunction with shadow rope technique or other restrictive techniques to further hinder the target. Once caught inside it, the target cannot mold chakra above S-rank and the barrier itself can only be broken by B-Rank techniques or by attacking the user of the technique.



Slam your hands onto the ground, and generate a barrier that forms a cuboid structure, pink in color around the opponent. This drains the opponent's chakra and restricts them from using S rank and above techniques, whilst the barrier can only be broken by B rank techniques, or attacking the user of the technique.

To activate the scroll, the user needs to perform a key of hand seals that will be unique for each creation and only known to those the user wishes, preventing the use of the scrolls by those the user doesn't allow.

Noted. For the first technique, how big of a B rank jutsu is it capable of defending the user against? I feel like there are some wide scaled B rank jutsus that would go around the edges of the spherical barrier.​
The second jutsu states "can be used in conjunction with other shadow rope techniques or other restrictive techniques to further hinder the target". Can it really be used in conjunction with it's stronger version? And if the opponent is caught in both jutsus, what rank of a technique would he need to overpower both?​

Description: This technique is a stronger version of Infinite Embraces and is used basically in the same manner. The user will do the Tiger → Dog → Horse → Dragon → Boar hand seals and slam his hands on the ground, creating a bigger barrier than the original technique but similar in its essence which drains the target's chakra but also pushes down on them making it much harder to break free. The massive pressure the technique puts on the target prevents the target from moving unless it has some sort of enhanced strength ability, making it very difficult to break free from it. Unable to move, the targets are also unable to mold chakra above A-Rank while having his chakra drained. The barrier can only be broken by A-Rank techniques or above or by attacking the user.​

Basically an anti fuin seal, this allows you to break seals, however body seals and such require you to actuall make contact with the seal itself.
( Hijutsu: Fūinjutsu Kai ) – Secret Technique: Sealing Release
Rank: A-Rank
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short
Chakra cost: N/A (same chakra as the seal thats to be released)
Damage points: N/A
Description: The user can use this technique to dispel sealing techniques of various natures by forcefully breaking open the seal or, in extreme cases, erasing/cancelling them. For seals placed on a living medium, the user must make contact with the seal. For other seals, being in short range of it is enough. Normally, to perform this technique one needs to do the confrontation or the tiger handseal.
Note: Regular Fuuinjutsu users can dispel Sealing Techniques B-Rank and below. Uzumaki bios can dispel up to A-Rank. Medical Sealing Masters can dispel up to S-Rank.

A seal that erupts a barrier that seals away chakra within short range of you from all opponents. once the barrier is released or ended, they gain that chakra back.
( Fūinjutsu: Seikatsu Kekkai ) – Sealing Technique: Living Barrier
Rank: A-Rank
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 30 (-15 per turn active)
Damage points: N/A
Description: The user takes out two bladed objects and crosses them. This creates a seal that seals away 50% of the chakra of any opponents within short-range of the user, allowing them to use only upto A-rank techniques.
Note: Sealing Method lasts 2 turns maximum.
Note: If the opponent moves out of short range, he regains his original abilities

The anti-summon seal, this doesnt break the contract with the user but it does force the user to lose control of that summon. Requirement though, is that you need some of the targets blood.
( Keiyaku Fūin ) – Contract Seal
Rank: A-Rank
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 30
Damage points: N/A
Description: The user, after having obtained some of the opponent's blood, touches a summoning that the opponent is controlling, causing a kanji formula to generate which forces the summoner to lose control of that summon. The summon does not fight for the user, but instead disappears back to its summon realm.
Note: Can only be used twice by regular sealing users while medical sealing masters can use it indefinitely.
