So first off, tell me what you know about fuuin, what it can do and how it works.

Fuuin is sealing jutsu. It is the techniques of sealing a being or items into a certain area. Fuuin can be things such as sealing someone in another dimension, or simply storing tools in a scroll.

There are various aspects and applications of sealing that have been shown through the series. You have kanji, sealing formula that do different things then you have barriers that do different things.

The kanji side can store in various forms, be it items or even jutsu. It can seal advanced things like amaterasu. But another application was Tsunade's seal where she sealed mass amounts of chakra into her forehead to power up/max heal in a fight. The sealing formula has been able to seal stuff away, like a sealing tag on someone can stop their doujutsu working, there is a lot of potential to be honest and a lot has been explored. The cannon jutsu list will show this.

You can't create seals to place on your body unless you have advanced fuuin.

Now the other side is barriers, once again this has many uses, they can be used for traps, to sense, as walls, or areas with effects. Same as above in many uses just a different application.

In the sense of how they look, rp wise they will all look different, though in the rp, the jutsu will outline what something can and can't seal, or what it summons etc.
