"His appeal is some loser complex/ victim complex, it became annoying real quick. None of his goals interested me. What’s so interesting about seeking validation? The “save Sasuke from darkness” thing was forced and reeked of savior wish fulfillment. He’s too dumb and self absorbed to be given a goal like world peace, it made him even more annoying and shallow.I especially hate the hokage dream, it’s just Kishi’s childish fantasy about turning his haters into **** riders magically. It’s pathetic to invest so much of your self worth on fickle opinion from others.

All the tropes in his character have been better done in plenty of other series. If you like a underdog story, there’s Hajime no Ippo. If you like sunshine dumbass, there’s Luffy, If you like emo exposition about being lonely, outcast, shitty parents and childhood, there’s Tokyo Ghoul. If you’re NS, you like the trope of guys who’re persistent, well, I’m sure there’re many such characters who’re less selfish and more likable than Naruto.

On a more superficial level, he’s just not enjoyable to read, his comedy was un-funny, his lines are corny, repetitive and sometimes sounded borderline insane e.g. Obito is the coolest guy, truths don’t matter, only feelings matter. Lines said by other characters to wank him were often too saturated with pity."

I agree, Naruto is an awful MC. But to say that tokyo ghoul is a good representation of emotion....well thats just nonesense. Tokyo ghoul went downhill faster than Itachi can solo.

Naruto's character was meant to appeal to 12 year olds not adult's, plenty of people who loved him outgrew his naive ramblings long before the story ended, it's why I can't take his character seriously. Though, I don't think he's as bad as that person suggest's. He's just incredibly generic, shallow, and uninteresting.

So, i think the guy is a hater.
I think Naruto development is a bit unrealistic, and his obsession with Sasuke is really unrealistic and annoyng. But the character alone is not boring, and he is really charismatic IMO.
I think he should not be so much on Sasuke, and could focus more on political and ideological issues. His reasons to be Hokage are unrealistic, and that thing to change people's feelings is kind of silly. A war does not end because of feelings lol
Furthermore, the end was ridiculous.
I always thought Naruto should have rethought and criticized the system he lives, and perhaps rebuilt a new system or a new village with Sasuke, and not simply reinforce "Oh, be Hokage is wonderful, hokage is god, don't talk bad about hokage, and I managed to bring Sasuke back beating him in a fight".
anyway, the first part until the kages meeting the manga was really nice, as well as the character.
