Right. Fuinjutsu is, as far as i know, the ability to use your chakra to seal something into another thing. It can be used on matter (like ninja weapons) or energy such as chakra. It generally uses some sort of kanji or inscription seal through which the seal in itself works. Most seals work with either a scroll in which something is sealed in or a tattoo to seal something in yourself. However some seals aren't visible.
A unique way to use fuinjutsu would be, for example, to seal a complete jutsu from your opponent and use it afterwards by releasing it against him. Or to place a seal on the nerves in one of his arms to prevent him from moving it ever again.
Techniques...I had to go to the list to check some that i remembered as being more known in the manga.
(Han'you fuuin) - Generic Sealing Technique

Description: This technique is a standard ninja skill which allows a ninja to summon an assortment of items or weapons that have been stored using Fūinjutsu,typically they are stored within scrolls. When needed, the owner will activate the seals releasing their item or weapon of choice. Scrolls can also be used as ammunition for other weapons. The items themselves are unaffected by time. This Technique allows the user to seal any weapons they wish being their own or opponents.
Note: Cannot seal opponents customary weapons.
This is the basic sealing that ninjas use when they seal weapons on scrolls. It works by drawing the required kanji in the scroll, performing the required hand seals and focus your chakra through the scroll, sealing the weapons whithin it.
(Ho/Mizu/Kaze/Tsuchi/Rai Houin) - Fire/Water/Wind/Earth/Lightning Sealing Method

Description: A technique used to seal away either Fire, Water, Wind, Earth, or Lightning as a result from a jutsu(seals only one jutsu per usage).
This was the technique used by Jiraya i think to seal a black flame from amaterasu. It uses a scroll as a medium to seal the element in it. To use the user must open the scroll on the ground, make the hand seals and channel his chakra through the scroll. Then chakra "threads" come out of the scroll and seize the element and bring it to the scroll sealing it inside. Although it can be used to seal a jutsu its slow and complicated, not being very useful in most situations
(Keiyaku Fūin) – Contract seal

Description: When the user implements the Fuuinjutsu on a summoner, it removes any control over their summoned creature, this does not mean however the user gaining control of the summoning. To implement the seal the user first requires the blood of the target. When used the opponents summoning will disappear when the control has been removed.
Note: Can only be used twice.
This was used by Minato against Tobi. The user places a seal in the enemy and releases his control over any summoned creature by sealing their ties to that creature. It requires blood from the enemy to trigger and can be done with great speed.

However, this isn't simply fuuinjutsu, it's elemental fuuin jutsu so continue by drawing in each scroll and sealing fromula circle a kanji corresponding to each element. Fire, Water, Earth, Wind, Lightning. Those are the five natures chakra can normally transform to. Make a scroll each and we shall test it out soon, so better make sure to write those kanjis properly.

*I take out a scroll and start writing the special sealing formula with the special kanjis, forming a circle. I start by doing the Earth one. I take the scroll, the pen, dip it in ink and start inscribing away forming a circle surrounding a larger kanji of earth. I repeat the same process for each of the other elements, forming a total of 5 scrolls*

Now, in order to seal the jutsus, channel your chakra into them while molding it with the following row of handseals:
Rat → Bird → Technique specific seal → Tiger
now, as you do that, the kanjis will glow focus and manipulate the chakra into the center of the scroll, where the kanji is. As it is, by the handseals and the forumla, the chakra will become hollow and so prey on the jutsu of that element (choose one, I'll shoot and attack later) in shape of a beam that will sourround the technique and ravenously bring it back to the scroll, leaving no trace of the technique, but the scroll's kanji glowing with the color associated with that technique. Make as many of these formulas as you can. You might need them.

Question: Does one have enough time to block a technique with this? I've seen multiple argues regarding this.

The argue is normally in if it can be used in a long scale blocking combo. For example if it requires you to seal a super large scale technique beforehand and you continue your combo, you must remember this will take some precious time (not much but every second counts). But indeed is not THHHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT Much time...scroll, opening it in the kanji (or draw it if you don't have it beforehand
) handseals (4), sucking a technique already in your way. I don't know why people whine, this technique is fast O_O.
I shoot a suiton: Teppoudama at you, block it, describe how does the beam of chakra radiates the scroll, sourrounds the technique and brings it forth.
My doubt is that if we can ever un do the seal, and release the attack against the opponent again, counting as a tool usage xd.

*As i see the water bullet coming my way, i take out the water scroll i just prepared, do the sequence of handseals and focus my chakra. From the scroll a tendril of chakra spirals outwards in the direction of the water bullet, grabbing hold of it as it envelops it and suck it up into the scroll, sealing it*
Uff...that was close... Its not yet time for my monthly bath...
Well, if there is a comand to release a seal, then i think it could be possible. However, the thing is that i doubt it would release the jutsu. It would release the chakra in a raw form (like a blast) since the jutsu itself is shape and nature manipulation. Even with Dark release you suck a tehcnique and release a blast of chakra. Dunno if that makes sense... =_="
