Both FTG and Kamui have the same Space & Time matter and none is greater than the other.
The Fight between Obito & Minato (Naruto birth), Minato read the situation as said: Depend of who is faster to activate.
Minato FTG also include 'sense' Senju mode, this was his advantage; Obito lost.
Minato FTG fight with Ay, Minato won, also on Senju mode.
Naruto finally won his fight against Ay.

Both FTG & Kamui required 'marker'.
Obito said that he need to mark while inside Kaguya dimension, then he hide inside his own dimension.
Minato marker use "seal" to mark that particular location to jump to.
He use kunai with the "seal" mark. Don't forget that Minato learn a lot of seal jutsu from his wife, Kushina.
Another method Minato use in order to FTG to, he use both his hands 'to form a triangle' at that particular target location.
He did that on Kurama bomb, and send it to the location, the sea.
To learn FTG, there are condition.
Only Hokage level are able to understand how to perform this jutsu, as "Forbidden Jutsu".
If everyone, such as his jounin, know how to use, then "all hell break loose".
Each Hidden Village had their own method of FTG. Ay & Tsunade also were FTG.

Kamui is all about dimension.
Obito had 2 dimension, while Kaguya had 5 dimension.
There is 1 dimension as the Main dimension - Key to other dimensions.
Obito main dimension is Naruto world, while his 2nd dimension is his own dimension.
BZ told Kaguya not to go to the 1st dimension, which will able to go into all the other 4 dimensions.
That is how Obito could kamui to the other dimensions in search of Sasuke.
Naruto world is one of the 4 other dimensions of Kaguya, and her own world is also one of the 4 other dimension.

ftg can be interdimensional... as long as the chakra that the user sealed in the marking can be sensed.. and it does not matter how op the tech is... the effectiveness depends on the situation and the cleverness of the user...
