Fried Green Tomatoes

So, I watched the movie finally. It was in theatre, so you know, why not? I've always heard about it from my family, mainly mom, but never watched it. No particular reason, although the name did irk me for some reason. Anyways, the movie is great. I loved it. The meaning of friendship, love, change, and acceptance is just really amazing. I loved the relationship between Ruth & Idgie. I thought there was something more between them and in the book, which this is based off a book, they are lovers. That really made it all that better. Not saying it changes everything drasticaly, but it just felt like somthing was there and it was cool it was. Side note and funng thing, I thought it was hilarious how my mom/family is so relgious and they are so homophobic, that they liked the film and probably really didn't know the real thing. I had a good inner laugh, but seemed my mom wasn't too bad when we chatted about it. Just a side note. Back to the movie, the other portion focuses on Kathy Bates, who is hilarious. I loved the Wanda deal and the ideal of her changing, her getting inspired. Just gives me motivation. Also, I loved the ideal of memories and people living on through stories. Just one of the many things I liked. The Ruth death feels was sad. The look on Idgie's face was just so compelling. Closing off this, I really like the hobo (Can't recall his name for some reason) and the town had a train problem. People getting hit and killed, people loosing arms. Someone stop this! lol

Anyways, the movie is great. I have a soft spot for old town stuff apparently. It's why I like Little House on the Praire xd


But yeah, talk about Fried Green tomatoes or Little House. Talk about the book/movie of the former. I really liked it. Just sharing.

I found the film for $5, so I bought it. (I saw it years ago & knew I loved it). My niece was reluctant to watch it, because of the title. My mother as well, thought "what do I care about a movie about tomatoes". So, LOL, I had to pin them down to watch it.
And, yes, they loved it.
Although, if I mention what you said about the book, I'm sure I'd get a weird look from them.
