Feat Comparison

Kizaru vs. Radical Beam

The purpose of this thread is to determine how strong Franky's Radical Beam really is, by comparing it to Kizaru's closest move. Because these "light beam" attacks have been shown to incinerate anything within their blast radius, it would be impossible to calculate their maximum power output. Because of this, I will only be comparing the volume of the two attacks.
The Scenes:
Kizaru's attack. This is the strongest single-beam attack that Kizaru has shown so far in the manga. Assuming that Franky was using his full power, this will be a fair comparison.

Franky's Radical Beam. Like I said before, I'll be assuming he's using his full power here.

Measurement:
Let's start with the Radical Beam.

To learn the size of his blast area, we first have to determine the height of Icaros Much. Here is a scan of Icaros Much with Zoro. I have measured both.

Zoro's height is 196 pixels, while Icaros Much's height to his knee is 622 pixels. Given that Zoro's height is 181 cm, Much's height is 574.4 cm.

Next I compared Much's knee-height to the radius of the original explosion (assuming that Much was in the epicenter).

Icaros Much's height is 71 pixels and the radius of the explosion is 482 pixels. Considering that I've already determined Much's height to be 574.4 cm, the radius of the explosion comes out to be 3899.43 cm.

Kizaru's attack was harder to measure.

To start with, we must find the width of a Mangrove tree. In order to do this, I had to find some of the dimensions of the Slave Auction House. I used this scan to compare Franky's height with the height of the arch.

Franky's height is 30 pixels and the arch is 183 pixels. Given that Franky was 225 cm, the height of the arch is 1372.5 cm tall.

Next I used this scan to compare the height of the arch to the width of the Auction sign.

The arch's height is 134 pixels and the sign is 154 pixels wide. Since the arch is 1372.5 cm tall, the sign is therefore 1577.35 cm wide.

Next up is to compare the width of the sign with the diameter of the Mangrove tree.

Haha, that's a large tree. Sign=36 pixels, Tree=500 pixels. With the width of the sign, the diameter of the the Mangrove is21,907.64 cm

Lastly, we just have to compare the diameter of the tree to find the diameter of the explosion.

The tree's width is 231 pixels and the diameter of the explosion is 463 pixels. Considering that I've already determined Tree's width to be 21,907.64 cm, the diameter of the explosion comes out to be 43,910.12 cm with a radius of 21,955.06 cm(assuming that the tree is in the epicenter of the explosion.

Final Math:

It's just a simple matter of using the radii of the explosions to find their volume and, therefore, their strength.

Radical Beam:
([SUP]4[/SUP]/[SUB]3[/SUB])(π)(38.9943 m)[SUP]3[/SUP]

=248,365.9 m[SUP]3[/SUP]

Kizaru's Kick:
([SUP]4[/SUP]/[SUB]3[/SUB])(π)(219.5506 m)[SUP]3[/SUP]

=44,329,465.4 m[SUP]3

[/SUP]

Conclusion (tl;dr):
Kizaru's strongest singular attack is roughly 174 times larger than Franky's Radical Beam.

...I was hoping it'd be less...

EDIT: I think that, after making this, some people are underestimating Franky's Radical Beam now. So I went ahead and made this frame of reference for the sizes of the blasts.

Interesting analysis. But i never find them a source to become reliable upon. I never understood the conversion of pixels to actual information like centimeters.

Find the conversion rate between Zoro's height and the pixels. Divid the pixels by height(or maybe its the other way around, I'm too tired to make sure), then multiply the result with the Radical Beams pixels and Kizaru's laser's pixels.

But that is not a reliable source. Who came up with the idea of using pixels as a unit of measure for math?
Ive never seen that in math or science. Even in my software engineering class, that to me is along the lines of fan fiction.

Really? You never had a class where the drawing was in inches and there was a scale showing 1 inch=x feet, then you had to find area or perimeter in feet? What you see here with the pixels is the same concept and mathematically sound. There's nothing wrong with it really and I think it's reliable.

I really appreciate the effort and math you put into this, but it is not reliable to base the measurements from two different instances in a manga. If you were to compare the heights of a single character, for example, in regards to multiple frames, even within a single chapter, you'll find out it varies, because the artists is not worried about making it 100% accurate, physics wise, but rather portray the characters and tell a story. Something more reliable, without actually having a statement from Oda, or have both of them shoot the beam at the same time, clearly drawn in the manga, there is no way to compare the both.

To be honest, I have no problem whatsoever that Kizaru's beam is stronger than Franky's. Dr Vegapunk was the one who was able to harness Kizaru's Pika Pika powers and create a Beam, which was then employed into the schematics of the Pacifista program, and the same concept then discovered by Franky when he rummaged through Vegapunk's work. It is, in essence, the copy of a copy. I have no doubt the concept was upgraded and developed to be has efficient and similar in power as it can be, but it will always be a copy of a nearly unlimited source of Light, that is the Pika Pika, so, resource wise, it would never be as powerful. But then again, I am also sure Franky will play with in and develop it past Vegapunk's initial design, and make it a much better weapon, in time.
