Not forgiven.Unless the killer's family is executed. An eye for an eye.If the killer doesnt have family,he/she will be tortured slowly, dissembled(spelling) all of his body parts, alive. While that happens, ill forgive him slowly.

I wouldn't, and why?

On the moment the individual has the intention of comiting that crime, he can choose: yes, or no. And he choosed yes. Probably most of the actions suceed in an order, like, you did A, and because you did A, you will do B, but i think you can always choose whatever you want to do or not. And on the moment free will exists (i believe that exists), moral responsibility exists too, so he has to be responsabilized for his actions.

The fact that he has a motive to do the action doesn't justifie it, since he is just one person, while he has killed many ppl and also hurted many other ppl's feelings, so, basically, he shouldn't had sacrificed my family just because he had a motive and he wanted to do it, only for self-interest (Psychological egoism)

Family for a family is very stupid, however I lie the second part !! :) I'd like to do the same to such a person.

What would forgiveness mean anyway? His life doesn't depend on it, since he was already sentenced to death by the government as a socially dangerous element -_-

Someone said that he would forgive him just becase he doesn't want to live with the grudge on someone for all his entire life... BULLSHIT. The person is gonna be dead anyway, so you wont have anybody to hate on -_-

Moreover, you will feel the grudge as such emotional trauma won't be forgotten by you, someone must be very naive to think it's gonna be erased from your memories and wont affect your emotions in future.

I would never forgive anyone who would do anything to my family. And I would do anything to find/execute/kill/sentence that person. Family is the most important thing in my life, that's how it is and always will be. The one who abuses family becomes an immediate enemy of mine.

It's hard to post what you would do in a case like this on this kind of forum.
but be ashured it involves a great deal of pain....mahone's methods for wyat in prison break will deffenitly be put to the test... as well as the ones from law abiding citizen(awesome movie btw)

and to make it special..i would try to convince a judge that his sentence be reduced to a life long one without parol ....death would be to easy for someone who commits a crime like this one..

btw what kind of study do you do, that you have these kind of sick assignments?

I wouldn't definetly not "want" to forgive him, but I would. I would pretty much always hate him for the rest of my life because of what he did, but I would forgive him for doing it. I'm sorry if this is weird and everything. In other words I would forgive him for doing the action, but I guess not forgive him for choosing my family.

I want you guys to picture something.

Let's say when you were out for awhile away from home, you're whole family was massacred by a serial killer and when you got back, you just couldn't imagine the devastation he has caused to your whole family. This murderer cannibalized your family (meaning eating them)

Let's say the mass murderer was finally caught and with your help, he was sentenced to death row. He meets a priest and that priest led him to a sinner's prayer in which he ask God to forgive his sins. Now the serial killer said that he had truly repented and is now asking you for his forgiveness.

Here's the question: Will you forgive him or not?

(Its for a paper... so thank you for anyone who will cooperate give me their comments. Please answer in yes or no and why?)
This would depend on a few things, on ur nature(are you u a forgiving person), ur age how old were you when it happened(if you were young it would scar you for life as you would never have ur family again, how would that make you feel?), how did your parents treat you(ie did they bash you/were they a loving family), did you kno the killer?l, No matter what the outcome of the case was how would you feel(if he wasn't sentenced to death).

Personally i beleive in a life for a life.

If speaking from God's perspective, isn't it said no matter what he will forgive?

But from my own perspective, I wouldn't be able to just give it to him on his word, he'd need to do much more to gain that forgiveness.

well from my point of view this story can go into two directions.

The first is that my family was eaten by a genious serial killer cannibal, who killed many families before mine, in which case I dont think I would be able to forgive him.

But on the other hand if he was a small time canniball, who found out that he was a cannibal while passing by my house hungry, and decided to eat sth, and if he was to be caught by the police later and if he repented for what he had done, I would forgive him, cuz the man was houngry, what can I do? I know how I am when Im houngry, so I'd forgive him...

Nah, Im just kidding, this is an really serious question, one that couldnt be answered before u even get to that kind of a situation( I hope not). The bible teaches us to forgive, but to forgive someone for sth like that would definetly take tame, years, decades...

I wouldn't forgive that dude. Really, as important as forgiving might be, I can forgive most things except a few, one and the most important being family slaughter...really, what you said there was plain cruel. I would probably go mad and start picturing the ideal way of torturing him to death, just so he can see what it feels like. He won't remember it anyway. He'll be dead =/ Weird huh? Thing is, I am sure no one would be able to forgive like this although they say they could. Thing is, you can't be sure of it until u face the real situation, which I hope will never happen to any of us...

forgive cuz that man would be in much pain . he made a mistake and he'd try not to make it again. But if he didn't fee guilty i'd never forgive him unless he somehow proves he feels bad of what he has done.

you have no idea what horrible image i had when i read your post :(
so i have to think if i can forgive the person who will destroy my all life... if he was sentenced to death, why should I forgive him? just to say "i forgive you" before the sentence will be put in practice? i can do this...
but if it can be my decision to free him and forgive him completely, i can't bcz he's a sick person and will repeat his actions...
btw, his death will never make me feel better, bcz this will never put the things in normal in my life...
*runs to search better threads* :p

First of all: WTH paper is that?

On a more serious note now, depends on the trial and the sentence. If that guy was on death row, then yes i would just say "i forgive you" because everyone must have the chance to face what he/she thinks he/she will find after death feeling that he/she repented for everything wrong he/she has done. I am not the one who would doom someone like this for ever.

But I don't think that I would mean it to be honest. Even if I could find the strength and courage to try and understand the "force" within him that forced him to kill someone, I would never be able to comprehend and accept the cannibalization of a body. That is above physical and spiritual law, a violation which i think no one can forgive or understand.
