Some of you believe itachi too chickens to fight jiraiya in part one

Well its really clear now, it would have been itachi + kisame vs jiraiya

It took a 7 gate guy to beat kisame. Itachi and kisame would have godstomp jiraiya

Itachi was never weaker. He just being a konoha dog the whole time U_U

Not really IMO Jiraiya didn't have much intel on Itachi or Kisame's abilities at that time. Only Hiruzen, Danzo, Orochimaru and the konoha elders knew about Itachi's true power. Kisame was more or less a total mystery even Asuma was confident that he could take them on.

Hurizen had just died likely he wanted to just remind danzo not to touch his bro under the ruse of capturing naruto for pain. Jaraiya showing up gave him a good excuse to leave (so naruto wouldnt be harmed) as a battle with him would attract a lot of attention.

I don't believe Itachi was afraid to fight Jiraiya...I do believe he didn't really want to hurt anyone from Konohakure...and "GodStomp" Jiraiya, pleaseeee!!! Let's not forget the the Pervy Sage did hold some weight against Nagato and his Paths of Pein!!!

Well really Jiriaya was more then happy to take them on at the time. He effortlessly took the advantage by putting them all in the toads stomach (it would have restricted Itachi and Kisame's movements). Itachi and Kisame recognised this and fled. Rationalise it what ever way makes you feel better but Kisame and Itachi both fled - manga fact. Kisame is one of my favourite characters as well.

He never took down pein.
He took down NAGATO with the help of the two strongest jinchuuriki
He should've taken on all 6 paths of pein just like jiraiya and let's see how he fares.
