this is for the japanese ppl.
will u get mad if some1 does a Ensō tattoo?

i know its very religous and sacred symbol. i just saw some tattoo pics on Deviantart and it looked kinda cool o.o and i was think of getting a tattoo like that in the future (never ever goin to happen xD ) i am not a kind of person who will disrespect another religion >_> so i am just asking whether it is cool to get a enzo tat

and this is for the ones who kno kanji calligraphy or know a family relative that does know kanji calligraphy.
i want a kick as japanese saying o.o something to do wit the soul and life

I don't like the appearance of the symbol.

Even if people are against it, what can they do? Maori's have a special kind of tattoo's with an important meaning, however it's only for men and forbidden to women. Still there are women who placed it, while they aren't even Maori. I'm not sure actually if it are Moari's, but it was a culture somewhere in those parts.

Chinese symbols and kanji's are cool, but so unoriginal as tattoo's.

Thank you for introducing me to that symbol. It's very similair to Michelangelo circle. The legend prays that the pope wasn't sure if he was the right person to paint the Sistine Chapel, so Michelangelo sent the him the drawing of a circle. He mesured the distance from the sides to the center at multiple places and he knew right away the meaning of the drawing. A perfect hand made circle represented the great skill of the artist.

As said in the page you provided, the Ensō symbol represents the enlightment of the writer, it's something very personal, and I don't think a Tattoo would represent the true meaning of it... But marking your body is something you must choose by yourself, it's permanent and so it shouldn't be for anyone else. If you really want this tattoo, then you should do it.

Well, you have my support Helly Baddy Assy

I'm not Japanese, but have lived there for years. The thing to keep in mind is that only Yakuza have tattoos in Japan. But the Buddhist aspect wouldn't likely offend anyone.

If you're still looking for kanji to display, check out:
