But I'd have to say Deathnote, FMAB was cool but i liked the plot of DN much better

By FMA, you mean the original, or the Brotherhood?

If it's the Brotherhood, then yes, I would pick Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood over Death Note.

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood did well holding off the story in a high standard for a lengthy-ish anime while Death Note kinda died over mid-way into the series. Don't get me wrong, Death Note was a masterpiece for its ideas and the Light vs L concept. But Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood had me hooked throughout the whole series. Both series are masterpieces, but Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood wins by a step.

If you were talking about the original FMA though, then it would be a whole different story; as I would pick Death Note over it because the original's ending seemed like a huge ass-pull.

Death Note even though both animes are super good. Death Note was just more intense for me and I was always mind****ed even when the series ended. FMA: Brotherhood is close behind though.

They are both awesome, but Death Note is too slow (it's a shounen so it doesn't have to) so I prefer FMA (Brotherhood)

Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood is way better. I've seen both a few times, and after watching Death Note a 2nd time, you can see a few big ass pulls to make the series end how it did. Most people don't realize it with just one watch through.

Both are still amazing and are in my top 5. It's just FMA:B has less ass pulls.
