Akainu wins without receiving a scratch. G4 is overrated and Luffy couldn't beat a half dead Doffy with it(without ALOT of help).
Doffy still dodged and attacked Luffy while in G4 and that was before DF awakening.

No this is what I was saying in the thread I made yesterday
Akainu will baby shake currently luffy
Gear 4th (the first time) wasn't enough to put doffy down and leaves luffy very vunrable
However as luffy goes stronger with strength speed and haki gear fourth will eventually be a force to be wrecking with for now it's just a really fast tech that shouldn't be used against a top tier or ppl close to top tier (doffy kuma with brain Jozu etc) unless u have back up to to step in while regain haki
Even unlimited (which is impossible cuz no ones haki is unlimited and gear 4th relies on how much haki one has) doffy was able to tank almost every attack (except for King Kong gun) so I have no doubt that akainu can do that and then some not to mention he's magma and def has stronger haki (cuz doffy has stronger haki (and akainu shits on doffy low to mid diff) then luffy as show when doffy used his haki strings to cut through gear 4 luffy shoulder it broke though his)
I also don't think gear 4th haki as it stands right now is stronger then both pts Marco and vista haki put together which failed to do nothing to akainu intangibility magma mixed with haki mind u he was injured from white beard

First I want to say Luffy is no way near being "top tier", gear fourth is being way overrated. He's practically dead after using it once and couldn't even beat Doflamingo after the first try. After saying that you also have to realize Akainu is in a much higher league than Doflamingo. So with that being said Akainu easy win. Luffy has a couple of more arcs to step up with the big shots

What Luffy needs is a serious Haki boost, Luffy won't even be able to hurt him in this battle. I will never understand why Luffy trained his Haki for 2 years but by feats it doesn't even seem better than Laws.

Luffy. Akainu was about to kill luffy but dragon appeared out of nowhere and kill akainu and vanishes again. All credits of fleet admiral's death goes to luffy.
This unlimited Gear 4 means nothing to top tiers so I suggest people stop making these match ups when he couldn't even beat a Shichibukai alone, Akainu would still shit on Luffy. Akainu doesn't even need blood lust to beat Luffy, 40+ year old Fleet Admiral Logia vs 17 year old new Captain Paramecia who just entered the new world, don't compare these two.

I agree with u but u need to take it easy with that age and experience nonsense. It means nothing.
Akainu is in his mid fifty's btw and Luffy is 19 and in op time Luffy more than likely will reach top tier status within a year time
I forget Oda isn't fond of logic, I'd prefer another time skip where Luffy is like 25 which is likely, a 19 year old Pirate King who defeats all seems too fixed.
One thing I don't like about this manga, there is literally no logic. Akainu and Kuzan fight for 10 days, Ace and Jinbei fight for 5 days, the most realist thing he ever did was make Luffy impervious to Enels lightning.

Nothing proves it other than rank and titles hype but even if we assume you're correct, G4 should at least be able to land some hit on him even if the damage is small

It doesn't need logic, Naruto surpassed Hashirama and was like God level at 17. So why is this suppose to be some One Piece issue? This kind of stuff happens all the time in shonen manga.
Also I dont think every fight can last days like the one you listed.

That's silly. Akainu was obviously still in his logia state having taken no damage whatsoever. Their Haki was completely and utterly ineffective against him. Also, it's equally baseless to assume his Haki is stronger. In fact, it's even more baseless considering the fact that logic dictates those with vastly greater experience would be better. Say they're even. He still wouldn't be able to bypass Akainu's intangibility.
