Yeah, they slow down things A LOT. I think it sucks as well, since it ruins the pace of the present story, and once it comes back to it, it sort of falls a bit out of rhythm.

This one should have been longer for several reasons

I like what you said hipster ,but you wont return my calls so we can talk about itXD

I like this flashback a lot, kabuto's wasn't great to me,
always showing the same fugaku flashbacks was getting annoying to me,
they should have showed the same ones from different anglesXD

I agree with OP. Kishi doesn't know how to organize the details of his arcs. I mean If you're going to write the fight scenes, let it just be fights. Then after the fighting is done, then it is time for flashbacks, let that just be flashbacks. Everytime we get to a certain point, where things JUST start to get exciting, he f*cks it up with flashbacks and whatnot.

HOWEVER! This time, he's doing it right. Hashirama is telling Sasuke the story of him and Madara. This is ok. These flashbacks are necessary. The Kabuto fight, they ruined that with the flashbacks, and Sasuke barely did anything.

There's a lot more examples as well.

Hm, I didn't know what bothered me exactly but I think this is it. It annoys me when, in the middle of a fight or soon to be action sequence, we get a 5-6 chapter flashback. I think that is why, even this very interesting flashback, bothers me.

We went from middle of a massive fight to a 'Meanwhile:' to a 'In the past:' to ANOTHER 'In the further past:' and part of me still wants to see the fight through.

This I arguably the most important flashback so far. I hope it takes as long as it needs to, whether that's another month or another week. I rather enjoy learning how things got together and why they happen.

I enjoy them as well but i don't enjoy fanboys going all crazy just because Kishi has re-confirmed Senju> Uchiha

I agree. Some character's backgrounds we just don't care about, and even after we hear their story, will forget in a few seconds.

Kabuto for example. Nobody cared about that guys childhood. Not like you ever hear anybody saying 'oh man, you remember Kabuto's flashback? Man, that was so dope! I especially loved the lack of fighting and learning more about Konoha's adoption center! What a blessful chapter it was!'.

Yes, in his case he could have had several panels where he said 'i grew up in an adoption center and was forced to kill the person who raised me.' or something and avoided his whole flashback. It could have been 3-4 panels instead of several chapters.
