[Photoshop] First Pop-Out/Border tag

Hey guys! I was not supposed to be entering PS for the next two weeks but I had an hour to kill so I used it to make something I always wanted to try out.
I first saw this style from Rain and then I stumbled on to DaHazard on DA and he sent me some resources to get me started (Thanks DH)


Its a bit chippy but its my first attempt at doing something like this so go easy on me (and the render sucks big time but I wasn't in the mood to google something so I picked something from my gfx folder) >_<
I didn't use the tag fundamentals in this piece.

Looks good mate for a first time, I also think the render is fine quality wise. However tbh it would work better in a vertical tag given where the lighting needs to be. The render has lighting that needs to come from above as well as from the sides, and making a vert tag with this render and border would have made it easier for you to achieve that imo.

I feel you have put so much effort into the border that you have somewhat neglected the blending, even with this style blending is just as important however. I don't really think I need to tell you that lol. But even so, more effort was needed in the background I think.

As for the border work I think it looks fantastic, but you could improve it even more with some simple highlights done with the pentool as well as some shadows underneath the tag itself.

Other than that, like I said its a great tag for a first time. But yeah regardless of what style you work with all the main elements remain the same

Also I forgot to add, don't bloody listen to DH what would he know haha. I hope he reads this lol, he knows me well and that I am only kidding. He is awesome haha, whats up DH.

Well, I am working towards it, but other 'things' are like, taking out my fundings at the moment xD and I won a best of the month? ;o

I am working on 3 new pieces at the moment, but seeing as I want 'too much' they are taking some time haha
I know... I should be more active, but RL is like, demanding a bit more (as well as my girlfriend haha)
