Chelsea arrived at the training ground without moment's haste. She just got message that she has got a new student under her wing and to her surprise it was a young shinobi who wanted to learn Katon. She was surprised mainly because katon training is generally handled by Sasuke, her partner and it was befitting considering the fact that he was a real prodigy when it comes to fire usage. Yet the Uchiha clan scion passed down the baton to her this time around, probably because he was too much into his lightning training with some other guy. She stood right in front of her student and shared greetings.
Hello, my name is Chelsea. I am Mandalore warrior and I am going to teach you, my not so favorite element, katon. Before shifting to the actual training, I want to know a bit about you. What is your name? Why do you want to learn fire?? and not to forget, what are your RP goals??
She eagerly waited for the new shinobi to speak out, as even she also wanted to know how this new generation thinks.

As his Senpai approached him and spoke to him Said to the man. " My name is Sasori. I want to learn fire release in order to complete one of the five basic natures. My goal is to be an extendable piece of art. U_U"

Pretty brief answer, I must say. Chelsea wasn't used to short answers like this. Usually, when she asked question like these, she used to get long lectures and what not, but that means the guy in front of her wasn't much of interested in having trivial talk. He kind of reminded her of Sasuke. She decided to check the basic knowledge of the student before starting the jutsu learning.
First of all, I want to know to what extent you know about fire element. This includes strength of the element, weaknesses, relationships with other elements, relationships with advanced elements/KGs and last but not the least notable users across the shinobi world that you know about. Apart from that, I would also like to know your personal opinion about fire in general, what fire symbolizes for you?? Please make it a bit detailed.

To start off, the fire element is strong against wind which just goes to say that wind makes the flames stronger when the two are colliding. So it would be a good combination to use together due tot hat fact that the wind can blow on the flames make them larger, and giving them more power. Next, you have water which it is weak to due to the fact that water has a cool properties which will then douse the flame into nothing. These two would now make a good combination since they are both opposite in properties. Though if the fire jutsu is stronger than the water jutsu which is trying to weaken the flame it can overcome the properties of the water jutsu, it will continue as a lesser technique, and in the process possibly evaporate the water jutsu.

Then, Fire style is also capable of being used together with earth style as well as lightning style jutsu. The fire can be used transform the weather into a thunderstorm which is the basis for using an augmented lightning style jutsu. So fire style is capable of increasing the destructive ability of lightning. After that you have earth style which can be used in the form of mud so that you can use it together with fire style. The fire jutsu can ignite the mud into a more deadly technique. Fire will cause for the mud to change into flaming hot mud balls. Fire and earth style have been shown in the technique "Earth Release: Earth Dragon bullet" which was used by the Third Hokage.

Additionally, fire is also a main component of many Kekkei genkai. I'll go over the first one which is "Boil release" which is a combination of both fire and water natures. Together they form into a gaseous substance which can be used at the users control. Remember when I said that fire has the capability of evaporating water, this is essentially heating up the water to extreme temperatures. Next, you have "Lava release" which is a combination of both earth release and fire release. When the two mix together they form a material such as lava or rubber which can be used at the wielders control. Basically the fire will melt the earth into a volcanic form. similar to how real lava or rubber is created. The last Kekkei genkai of fire release will be "Scorch release" that is a combination of wind and fire. The technique creates a scorching hot jutsu which is so powerful it can even evaporate the liquids in a persons body. Something all of these technique have in common is that they are all a more advanced form of fire to extreme temperatures. Some of the most notable fire style users are: Sasuke Uchiha and Madara Uchiha who are by far probably two of my proficient fire style users. The fact that they have are from the Uchiha clan means that they have natural born affinity to the fire element. They can even grow to the point where they can use to the element in faster process.

My personal opinion on fire is that it is a an element that can represent heat and destruction. Most people see it as an element that can only cause chaos, but that is not true. Fire can also be viewed as a life source or as a beating heart. It can give people warmth which can keep them alive. It is a powerful element which needs to be responsibility, and in the wrong hands it might be dangerous. To me it is an element that represents the flame of life.

Overall, I guess you missed only two to three points. One of them is that fire is just a raw element, in short it is true that it can be used as precursor for something like kirin, but that is one of the few jutsus. Lightning is a raw attacking element and hence combining both is really difficult, but they give a KG called as Dark release, which is pretty useful one, imo.
Also, bare in mind that if you have Uchiha bio, you automatically have fire as a primary specialty(you perform all fire techniques with single handseal). I must mention that I liked your personal take on fire and before moving on I want you to go through the classification of fire jutsus, stated by a really old ninja know as Reborn in his useful guide.

Types of fire techniques​

Melee - Melee Fire release techniques are such that cover around the user's body or certain limbs (more commonly). They do not add any physical damage to your strike but leave a a nasty burn effect, which could lead in your opponent unable to perform simple movements at times due to the pain. These types of methods are rare within the canon field but are large created as custom jutsu & at this point may seem pointless to create as most uses have been created multiple times, so try think outside the box if you ever intend to create one. Some examples of canon release would be Flame Rasengan. similar to a normal with the exception of creating a blaze of fire which envelopes the target as they are pushed back. Kenjutsu is another style that you are able to combine with fire release. By releasing your chakra into a handed weapon you are able to create either a thin veil of flames to wrap around the blade or heat the blade itself up to a certain degree. This greatly increases the cutting potential of your blade, allowing it to slice through denser objects even more finely & also at times leaving the object with scorched or melted around the edges.

Streams/Widespread - Very effective methods of fire release. Streams are purely condensed flames that have a low area of cover but carry a powerful punch behind it. The stream itself moves at a fast pace & with some jutsu, due to its confined form, is able to strike the opponent just as a solid object would. A majority of streams are mainly veils of flames that, on contact, burn past your opponent having them caught in the middle. This is great to trap & "finish off" your opponents at times & is a commonly used method when having the opponent trapped.
Widespread Fire jutsu are usually of a higher rank due to the amount of chakra placed within the jutsu & the amount of concentration & focus required to perform such jutsu. Such jutsu include "Great Fire Majestic Annihilation", performed by the infamous Madara Uchiha. This is a prime example of a widespread technique & is considered one of the most dangerous jutsu because of its coverage & sheer power. These types of jutsu require the user to knead a large amount of fire chakra while taking in a deep breathe, they then continue to expel & release a stream of flames that widens the further it reaches. Due to continuously having to provided their built up chakra while expelling the flame, the user is left vulnerable to other attacks if not noticed. If the user would notice an attack they would have to stop the fire stream in its tracks & defend themselves.

Projectiles - Fire projectiles are the most commonly used field of fire jutsu & cover a large amount of the list. They can range from short to long & vary in numbers & size. These jutsu are most preferred as they require only a fixed amount of chakra & can then be released without the need to constantly feed the projectile. Fire itself is a fast traveling element but does not compare to Lightning release & is slightly slower to Wind release. They can be release from the user's mouth by taking in a breathe while gathering you fire chakra at the base of the lungs & then exhale, releasing a sphere of fire that travels forward. They can also be release by gather fire chakra around the user's hand & focusing on condensing it into a sphere of flames & then hurl it toward the opponent. Depending on the force used in the throw the distance can vary, this does not effect Range given in description, but does at times effect the description you had written down, an example would be describing the throw as just swinging your arm, releasing the ball of fire. This does not really explain much & could confuse your opponent to the amount of force you added. How you could say it is "As I create the sphere of fire, I bring my right arm back & then swing it across while releasing the ball".
An important note that does not just involve fire release but any similar jutsu of any Element. If a jutsu allows the user to fire off multiple projectiles, this does not mean that all multiples of the technique equal to the same rank individually . Each projectile is divided up & given less amount of chakra the more projectiles you create.

( Bakuhatsu Enhogan ) – Exploding Flame Shots

Description: The user shoots multiple fire shots from their hands that are able to cause fiery explosions on impact with any object. The shots can't set the opponent on fire, though they can cause damage by exploding on him.

As the jutsu says, the user is able to fire off multiple fire shots. This could be from a range of 2-10 but with each number added, the less damage each projectile does on its own. When combined to strike together that is the only time it will be considered a B Rank. If you create a single fire shot it does consist of enough chakra to act as a B Rank.

One thing one needs to take into consideration is the following:
S-Rank = 2 A-Rank Projectiles = 4 B-Rank Projectiles = 8 C-Rank Projectiles = 16 D-Rank Projectiles

Each rank is double the power of the preceding rank, so dividing the number of projectiles makes them follow the same principle.

Alternative releases- This method encompasses techniques that fall within the category of Katon, yet do not actually produce Fire but rather a substance that possesses properties that can aid fire. In short, it's Fire release that doesn't possess fire. The substances that are created using techniques within this method are generally flammable mists or thick clouds of ash that is highly combustible. However there can be techniques that do utilize fire with another medium to create an even greater source of fire, i.e lava, which allows for the technique to be considered an alternative method of release. As far as chakra goes for build up of techniques within this method, one would gather their chakra as they normally would for katon, however before release they would only superheat it enough to keep it in a level of purgatory between becoming actual fire or not and temper the technique to come out the way they want it (mist or thick clouds of ash) and then, based on how the technique is (if it's wide spread like a stream) they would release the chakra manifested into that entity. As for the alternative techniques possessing fire, one would simply release fire the way they would, combining it with the second medium to create the stronger element to get the results. For example, to create lava, one use Fire+Earth. Create the fire with Katon, mix it with earth and the results will be a Katon technique that equals Lava.

Chelsea sees that her student has gone through the long scroll and is now ready to proceed further.
Even I don't like theorotical part, so lets move onto some actual training stuff, shall we??
She goes through her pocket and then removes a special paper which they call it as 'chakra paper'.
Before I can teach you elemental ninjutsus, you need to first go through this pretty simple training session. This paper is made from special type of trees that are fed with chakra. It is basically used to test abilities of molding a particular element. Just hold this paper in your hand and think about fire after closing your eyes. Think about properties of fire and try to add them to your chakra, while focusing your chakra on this paper. Try your best and tell me what happens to the paper.
Chelsea throws the paper towards Sasori and waits for him to demonstrate his abilities.

Upon hearing his Senpai's instruction about the slip of paper he grabbed hit and held it within his hands. While he held it between his hands he gathered thoughts of fire in his mind. An image of a flickering fire appeared in his head as he transferred his Katon chakra into the piece of paper. The thought of fire in his head aided in the transfer of chakra into the piece of paper. As he continued focusing his fire chakra into the paper, and thinking about the flickering flame in a black space the paper eventually went up into flames. Pieces of the paper were sent into the air as ash.

Chelsea saw that the paper in Sasori's hand got turned into ash and was satisfied with the result.
Congratulations, you have learned the basic step necessary for learning katon, which is nothing but elemental manipulation. Now, its time to start learning the actual jutsus.
Chelsea removed a scroll from her pocket and threw it at you, which contained synopsis of her training method.
My training method is really simple. You will be performing jutsu first and then will be doing a bit of an analysis. Analysis will include advantages, disadvantages, creative scenario in which you can use this jutsu, followed by an explanation of how will you counter it(two each please). You can use template for it, if you want to. Although, I prefer if you state me analysis in paragraph format instead of template format. If you have any queries or questions of any type you can just stop me anywhere during the training and ask them. Always remember, I am here to help you.
Chelsea tried to be as courteous as possible, so as to give out that helpful tone.
She then got back a little and while looking straight into your eyes, continued confidently.
First step of this jutsu is elemental manipulation. You will gather chakra in your lungs after taking a long breath. Once you have gathered it, convert it into the fire chakra that you just used on that piece of paper. Procedure till this point is pretty similar to the thing you did earlier.
Once you are done with elemental manipulation, you have to follow it up by shape manipulation and convert chakra into the form of small fireballs that you will send towards your opposition. These small fireballs can be sent one after the another. Note, all of them together form D-Rank jutsu and hence more fireballs you make, weaker they will be. Obviously, it comes under the projectile category in method system and is very basic jutsu.
Just try sending them towards me, followed by some analysis.

To start off, Sasori began by gathering his Katon chakra within his chest. He then began to shape the chakra into one large spherical fire ball. Now he puckered his lips as he released a small, but powerful ball of fire towards his sensei who be directly in front of him. The fire ball would be aimed at his opponent's chest, and if he did not avoid or block the technique it could leave a severe burn mark on his chest which could hinder him.

Advantages: The user is capable of creating more than one fire ball.
Disadvantages: The more fire balls created the weaker the technique
Counters: Hiding under ground or into the sky.
Combinations: Can be used together with a wind technique to increase its efficiency.

Chelsea used a D-Rank water technique to stop the small fireballs that headed towards her. She was proud as her student passed the first test.

This is another basic jutsu, but here you combine elemental ninjutsu and shuriken jutsu. Start off with removing few shurikens from your pocket. Gather chakra in your mouth and then turn it into fire release, by giving it fire like properties. Then spew that fire chakra into those shurikens before you throw them at your opponent. When they are about to hit him, give a mental command to put them on fire, which will burn your opponent on impact apart from cutting damages due to shurikens. Try it out on my clone over there.
Chelsea forms a clone that turns into Itachi, removes shuriken from its pocket and runs towards you from left in an arc like manner.

Another useless basic jutsu and too easy for you to be honest, as you already learnt 'Dragon Flame Blitz'. Start off with kneading your chakra in your throat and then turn it into fire chakra by providing it fire like properties. Afterwards shape manipulate it in the form of a small fireball of 1 foot diameter and exhale it towards me. It is projectile type jutsu and quite fast since it doesn't require handseals. Though, it is very weak.
Give it a try and analyze both the jutsus.

After successfully preforming the first technique Sasori quickly readied himself to preform the next jutsu at hand. Once his opponent was done explaining the jutsu Sasori watched as he created a clone of a man running towards him in an arc like matter with shuriken in hand. As the clone headed closer towards him he swiftly removed several kunai from his ninja pouch which were approximately four in total. Each of the shuriken were held between his fingers in his right hand. With each shuriken in hand Sasori focused his fire into his lung, and then shifted it into his mouth. Once the fire chakra had been formed in his stomach he spat each of the shuriken with a coat of fire. As the shuriken burned with an intense fire he then threw them at the clone which headed its way over towards him. Each of the shuirken were aimed at a different body part: One at the left leg, one at the right leg, one at his chest, and one at his right arm. Sasori waited for the shuriken to be just inches away from the clone until he ignited the shuriken causing for them deal extra damage to him.

Advantages: A good way to focus you fire chakra into a weapon in order to turn the technique into a more deadly form.
Disadvantages: Requires precise aiming.
Counters: User can just use a technique which blocks the user's sight so they can't aim at them.
Combinations: Can be used with a wind empowering technique.

Next, Sasori shifted his attention to his opponent again who would be explaining another technique for him to use. After playing close attention to him he understood what he had to do, in order to preform the rather simple technique. He began my molding his Katon chakra in chest preparing to unleash it at the opponent. Once he molded the chakra in his chest he quickly moved it into his throat where he gave it the properties of an intense burning flame. As thoughts of fire gathered in his mind he was almost ready to use the jutsu. Finally, Sasori puckered his lips as he unleashed a violent fire ball towards his opponent in a linear manner which would possibly leave her with severe burn marks if not dodged.

Advantages: Does not require hand signs.
Disadvantages: Is not capable of reaching into long range.
Counters: The user is capable of escaping into the air.
Combinations: He can use this technique to block the enemy's movement on the ground and force them into the air.

Chelsea saw the fireball being directed at her and used a D-Rank water shied to block it.
Good start, I must say.
Chelsea then proceeded to explain you next jutsu.
This one is slight different from a normal fire projectile or stream jutsu. You start off with those pesky handseals and then gather katon chakra in your lungs. This time you don't have to convert it into fireball, but vary properties of chakra in such a manner that you can blow it from your mouth in the form of flammable gas. This flammable gas will be directed towards your opponent and will impede him from performing fire jutsus immediately. You yourself can ignite it by using some spark like mechanism or existing source of fire, like candle. This will convert it into a large fireball.

Description: The user will release a small but powerful flame of fire at their opponent from either their limbs (through movement) or exhaling it. It can produce fire balls or fire streams or simply aid in taijutsu.

The last D-Rank one is generic usage of fire. You can combine this one with taijutsu moves or free form to effectively enhance damaging abilities of your free form or taijutsu moves. This one is seen in various animes such as fairy tail(Natsu's simple fire kicks from Fairy tail). It is very fast, has a good rage, multiple usages.(not you can also use it to exhale fire balls or fire streams of generic types) Biggest issue is, it is very weak jutsu.

First, Sasori listened closely to his senpai before he attempted to perform the jutsu. Once his senpai was done talking Sasori began to attempt the technique. He began my forming the Snake-Ram-Monkey-Tiger hand seals that were required for it. After the hand seals were done Sasori started to gather his fire chakra in his lung area before finally spewing out a gaseous fire from his mouth. Now that the gas was out of his mouth Sasori pulled out a kunai and tossed it into the gas where Sasori simultaneously pulled out his cable cord and scratched the kunai with the tip of the cord causing for the two produce a spark which would ignite the gas into a powerful ball that would roast the clone.

Advantages: Has many supplementary usages.
Disadvantages: Useless if it does have a source to activate it.
Counters: Could blow the gas away with a relatively weak wind jutsu.
Combinations: Could be used with a fire jutsu to increase the attack strength of the two.

Next, Sasori started to perform the next technique at hand after his senpai was done giving instructions. Sasori began by generating his fire chakra into his left hand and right leg so that the fire would aid in the attack strength of his techniques. Approaching the clone in close combat Sasori would begin by thrusting his left hand forward at clones face which would likely leave a burn mark on its face int he form of a fist. After he punched clone on its right cheek Sasori sent a swift leg sweep with his right land most likely leaving burn marks on its left leg and causing for it to fall.

Advantages: The technique can have several uses, and plus it can really strength up ones Taijutsu I see myself using this technique.
Disadvantages: It is a weak technique if by itself.
Counters: Covering ones limb in a wind jtusu
Combinations: Used in combination with Chakra enhanced taijutsu attacks.

Description: The user will create a small short flame at the opponent. This flame is capable of making the target collapse due to the heat of the technique. This technique requires no handseals.

When I started your training, I gave you types of fire techniques and it is time to relate techniques with it.
This one is stream type of jutsu and maybe the most basic fire jutsu of that type. It carries all the disadvantages that comes with the stream jutsus, such as you have to continuously feed chakra to keep it active and you can't perform other jutsus while performing this one, which is a major disadvantage. You have to cut off the chakra if you want to go for other jutsus and hence effectively ending stream technique.
Does that mean there are only disadvantages? Obviously not. Stream fire techniques are usually condensed fire jutsus and hence they can result into serious burns if you are unable to dodge them or stop them. Also, stream jutsus don't spray around like fireballs and hence 'can be' pretty accurate.
Chelsea figured out that she probably gave a lot of analysis and digressed a lot. She hated this habit and hence shifted her focus to the jutsu.
First gather your chakra in your lung at a single point and then convert it into fire by giving it fire like properties. Release it via your mouth through a small opening in the form of continuous stream of fire. It is a really quick jutsu and you can use it alongside taijutsu or other ninjutsu at point blank range of your opponent for maximum damage. This technique can go till mid range, just an additional trait. Use it to roast that snake.
Chelsea summons a medium sized snake that slithers towards you.

After you have done with roasting of that snake, let's focus on for some really useful jutsu.
Chelsea took a deep breath before going ahead with the lengthy explanation.

Description: After performing the necessary hand seals Snake → Ram → Monkey → Boar → Horse → Tiger, a ninja inhales air, and utilizing a large amount of fire chakra, spews a large fireball from their mouth after blowing through a ring made by the thumb and index finger of the user, incinerating everything in range. The fireball ignites externally. The fire ball can present itself in 2 forms: it can either be created by a stream of fire and sustained as a gigantic ball of flames in front of the user spanning up to short range or be released as a slightly smaller ball of fire which will travel towards the enemy up to mid range.

Perform those handseals(Snake → Ram → Monkey → Boar → Horse → Tiger), breath some air in and then start gathering a large amount of fire chakra inside your lungs. Then, utilize it to spew a large sized fireball from your mouth, after forming ring in front of mouth using index finger and thumb to give it proper shape.
This fireball will incinerate everything in its path, due to the enormous heat it produces and will travel till short range, if it is large in size. Size will reduce if you make it to travel till mid range.
Another alternative usage is similar to previous jutsu, that is stream form, but it will also carry weaknesses associated with the stream jutsu. So, I will always prefer fireball version over this. Try incinerating my clone. Beware she can use some good jutsus.

Sasori deciding not to waste any time in performing the next technique began to prepare himself to perform it. Once his sensei was done fully explaining the ins and outs of the jutsu Sasori knew that he was ready to give it a try for himself. Sasori started off by gathering his fire chakra within his chest. Once enough chakra had been gathered in that specific place of his body he then focused greatly on giving the chakra nested in his chest fire qualities. He then directed his attention at the snake that was heading his way and, then began to pucker his lips. Soon after his lips were puckered Sasori let the fire chakra in his lungs flow out of his body in a small stream of fire aimed at the snake. With the precise aiming of the fire technique it allowed for Sasori to easily roast the snake.

Advantages: Doesn't need hand seals.
Disadvantages: You can't perform other techniques since you have to keep this one fueled.
Counters: Earth Shaking to throw off user's aiming.
Combinations: Since you cant perform other jutsu you could always use taijtusu.

2) Immediately after his sensei was done explaining the jutsu at head Sasori directed his attention at the clone which was coming after him. So first he performed the required hand seals needed to perform the jutsu. With that done. Sasori then (inhaled air?) now that was done he began to gather his fire chakra in his chest. As the fire chakra sat in his chest he concentrated so that he could give the chakra the flaming hot properties of fire. The clone proceeding closer to sasori than ever he knew that he needed to unleash his jutsu and fast. He let the fire chakra in his chest flow to his lips where he had his fingers in a ring shape. Out of Sasori's mouth was medium sized fireball which would reach up to mid range, and also roast the incoming clone.

Advantages: Has multiple forms to be used in battle.
Disadvantages: Size greatly hinders range of the technique.
Counters: Escape underground or in the air.
Combination: Fuel the jutsu with a wind technique.

Re-do the previous techniques you are being taught. You don't have to perform the techniques in my method. Just analyze them, mention it's strengths and weaknesses and possible ways you may use it in battle. Be as creative and descriptive as possible.

 

[Sasori]

1) First up, we have a technique that does not require the usage of hand seals so it can be performed rather quickly. This jutsu does not necessarily require for the user to preform it from the mouths so I assume that it can simply be performed from any part of their body making it quite useful in body. With this jutsu it does not have the user create a small flame which can be used to subdue small creatures or humans. The technique possibly causes minimum burn to which ever body parts that it comes in to contact with. Also, this technique has an alternate ability which is because of the heat wave of technique it can potentially cause for an enemy to faint due to the pressure it pushes on an enemy.

2) Here we have a technique that has a few needs a few hand seals to be done in order to perform it.After the required hand seals have be done the user will then inhale air from their nearby vicinity which will contribute to the overall technique that will be done. Combined with the air that the user has inhaled, the user then gathers there fire chakra in their lungs. Shortly after the two have been done the user will then put forward their index and thumb in front of their mouth in order for it to act as a medium for the fire to travel through. As the fireball exits the user's mouth it will then take on the form of a fire ball and begin expand in a ball of fire as once it hits the air. This technique however is not limited to just being a fire ball to be launched at a target. One can also use this technique as a growing fire in front of the user which reaches up to short range of the user. Both of the technique have something to do with range, but depending on the conditions the user is present it will determine which would be more convenient.

It's not exactly the pressure that makes the opponent faint. It's the increase in temperature that causes the opponent to faint.

It can also be used in combination with Wind Release: Divine Wind to create a tornado of flames, or with Wind Release: Godly Wind from the Mountains to release a massive inferno. The stream of fire can be created by stomping the ground (running across the ground in this case) or by spewing the flames (which will form an airborne ring of flames that will travel towards the enemy).
