Good.

As the small fireball approaches Ace, he imitates a drunken man, swaying his body to the side, in an unpredictable manner. This causes him to evade the path of the fireball, as he simply stands straight again.

(Suiken) - Drunken Fist
Rank: C
Type: Attack
Range: Short
Chakra Cost: N/A
Damage Points: 30
Description: This unusual taijutsu style is a unique style of combat Drunken Fist Fighters become human powerhouses who'll strike unpredictability, with no inhibitions, an explosive fury and without any second thoughts about their actions. The user can either make themselves drunk or imitate the method by use of swaying and uneven balance on their feet to attack their opponents a total of 12 variant attacks.

Next up:

( Katon: Komakai Kaki ) - Fire Release: Small Fire
Rank: D
Type: Offense
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra Cost: 10
Damage Points: 20
Description: The user spews a small fireball.

Another basic, but simple technique. Like the previous one, you gather chakra in your lungs, alter it into the Fire nature, and convert it into actual fire, giving it the shape of a small fireball, via shape manipulation. However, with this technique, you can only exhale one fireball/ This fireball extends upto mid-range, and can be followed up with a Wind jutsu to augment the size, speed and intensity of the flames. Since the size of the fireball is small, you can see the opponent and vice versa, unlike large fireballs, where the view of your opponent is blocked off the by the mere size of the fireball. I'd say, you can follow up with several explosive tags, if aimed at the correct angle, even such a small technique with a combo can be deadly, but only if the distance between your opponent and you is very short and you time it right. Otherwise, I don't see any potential uses of this in battle. This technique is as useful as throwing a single kunai. Some people just use it to start the battle. Exhale the fireball towards the sky.

"Lance gathers the katon chakra into his lungs once again and then directs the chakra to his mouth, he releases the chakra as fire but utilizing shape manipulation he forms it into a small fireball which goes right towards the sky."

Pretty simple technique.

(Katon: Ryu Kaen Bakufuu ) - Fire Release: Dragon Flame Blitz
Rank: D
Type: Offensive
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra cost: 10
Damage points: 20
Description: The user inhales and then exhales, shooting small balls of fire at the opponent.

So, our next technique; which is again similar. Once more, you inhale and gather your Fire chakra in your lungs, mixing the inhaled oxygen with your chakra. Once you do that, you channel it to your mouth, converting it into Fire and shape manipulate it to exhale several small balls of fire. Since these are several balls of fire, the chakra of the overall technique is divided with each fireball, making it a very weak technique is terms of strength. But, if they hit at once, they can collectively do upto D-Rank damage, which is quite okayish. Again, you can use this in short range to quickly barrage your opponent with these, aiming them all at different angles so as to converge on your opponent and follow up with a wind jutsu or explosive tags. The overall range of this technique is mid.

(Katon: Kaen Shuriken Ranbu ) - Fire Release: Blazing Shuriken Dance
Rank: D
Type: Offensive
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra cost: 10
Damage points: 20
Description: The user will throw several shuriken infused with fire at the enemy and then, through a mental command, ignites them to cause extra damage.

This one's different. You gather your Fire chakra in your body and channel it to your hands. You then take out several shurikens and infuse them with your Fire chakra, channeling the chakra from your hand to the shurikens which lays dormant in it. You will then hurl it at the tree nearby and once they start their flight, you will ignite the dormant chakra to form fire through a mental command. This can be used to take the opponents by surprise, and once again, it has no potential uses in mid-long range, since these are easily counterable. You can however use them in short range nicely by throwing the shurikens in such an angle that they converge on your opponent, and while he counters the shurikens, you can ignite them. It would be a little hard for him to avoid it then.

Lance inhales air, filling his lungs with that good oxygen, he gathers fire chakra in his lungs, fusing both the oxygen and chakra. Using the chakra in his lungs, he directs it into his mouth and then exhales to release several small balls of fire formed using shape manipulation. The fire balls, all aimed at the tree, further scorch up the trunk of the gigantic tree.

No kidding, its basically the last technique but with more fireballs.

Then, Lance focuses his baton chakra in his body, channeling it into his hands. Using his dominant hand, he reaches into his pouch and pulls out shuriken and infuses them with his katon chakra. The chakra would remain dormant in the shuriken until he made the command to ignite them. Lance throws the shuriken at the tree, each coming towards it in a different angle. While midway in flight, he makes the command to ignite the shuriken on fire, further harming the tree's trunk.

C-Ranks. Analyzation time.

(Katon: Gōkakyū no Jutsu ) - Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique
Rank: C
Type: Offense
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra Cost: 15
Damage Points: 30
Description: After performing the necessary hand seals Snake → Ram → Monkey → Boar → Horse → Tiger, a ninja inhales air, and utilizing a large amount of fire chakra, spews a large fireball from their mouth after blowing through a ring made by the thumb and index finger of the user, incinerating everything in range. The fireball ignites externally. The fire ball can present itself in 2 forms: it can either be created by a stream of fire and sustained as a gigantic ball of flames in front of the user spanning up to short range or be released as a slightly smaller ball of fire which will travel towards the enemy up to mid range.

Simple, and one of the most used Katon techs in the manga, anime, games, etc. You weave the Snake → Ram → Monkey → Boar → Horse → Tiger handseals and inhaling a large amount of air, mixing it effectively with your Fire chakra in your lungs. You would then channel this to your mouth, and convert your Fire chakra to actual fire. Then, you would make a ring like shape with your index finger and thumb across your mouth and shape manipulate the fire, compressing it to spit out a gigantic ball of flames, which travels as a projectile, but only upto short range. Alternatively, one can spit it out as a smaller ball of flames, however this one's more compressed, and travels upto mid-range. This is excellent for short range combat, but with the giant size of the fireball also comes a downside; you can't see your opponent since the fireball blocks your vision of him, and vice versa. However, you can use this as an advantage to quickly follow up with a sneak attack or hide underground. As for the mid-range one, you can see your opponent which is a plus, and also it travels more further which is pretty good. You can use a powerful wind blast to augment the flames and increase their speed, giving your opponent a small time window to react, since a blast of wind would turn this into a violent and unpredictable blast of flames.

( Katon: Hōsenka no Jutsu ) - Fire Release: Phoenix Sage Fire Technique
Rank: C
Type: Offense
Range: Short
Chakra Cost: 15
Damage Points: 30
Description: The user first performs six hand seals Rat → Tiger → Dog → Ox → Rabbit → Tiger and they create a volley of small fireballs, which are sent flying in an unpredictable manner assaulting the enemy. In addition, the flames are controlled one by one with chakra, so avoiding them all is extremely difficult. Shuriken can also be concealed within the flames, creating an unexpected secondary surprise attack. Like the flames, the shuriken can be controlled with chakra. For the most part, however, this technique is used as a distraction.

Another canon technique. After weaving the Rat → Tiger → Dog → Ox → Rabbit → Tiger handseals and inhaling a good amount of air again, you mix it with your Fire chakra in your lungs and then you would compress the fire to spit out several fireballs, like the D-ranked counterpart. These fireballs travel in an unpredictable manner, and can be used to make them converge on your opponent, so that they're difficult to defend from. Additionally, you can conceal shurikens within them, which would take the opponent by surprise, if he's hit, since this would cause blunt force damage, as well as burn him severely. This technique is a little special, since you can control the flames with your chakra, and since the shurikens are in contact with the flames, you can control them too. However, it only works upto short range, and is quite good for that purpose. You can exhale them in a diagonally upward arc, so that they come converging upon your opponent from the top, which would add to their speed, added the downward gravitational force, and would be difficult to defend from. The range is only short, as I mentioned, which is both a drawback and a good thing to this technique. This technique isn't primarily used for offense, but is used to engage the opponent so that you can follow up with combos.

Iconic technique of the Uchiha Clan, I believe. This technique is pretty good, has two usages in it making a bit more versatile than the other usual projectile techniques. One goes Short range but has a bigger fire ball, the other only reaches mid-range but has a smaller fireball. If you don’t have katon specialty it requires a fair amount of hand seals to utilize, giving your opponent time to prepare for the technique and it blocks your vision of them and their vision of you. Since it’s a Katon technique, it feeds on oxygen and air, and will gain more power if I happen to release a wind technique right behind it to amplify its power. Overall, it’s pretty neat technique but basic in its usage.

Alright this technique basically is against the whole projectile based techniques, instead of being unable to control the jutsu after releasing like any other projectile technique. This jutsu allows you to control it but only to short range. It works the same as any other katon technique that comes from your mouth, breath air, mix chakra but is released a bit differently. You tilt your head back, have your mouth face the sky and exhale them from upwards diagonally and come raining down onto the opponent. Since you are able to control the flames, it makes it difficult for your opponent to dodge them. Like the jutsu description says, it’s more of a distraction, I don’t see myself hurting anyone with this technique even with the shuriken concealed in the flames. Not only that, the short range limit on the control really hinders the overall potential of this technique. But then again, if I am controlling them, I don’t think I would be able to utilize any other technique as I would be focused on the flames which could be considered a disadvantage.

Good. Keep those replies up.

( Katon: Rakka Sanran Kasai ) - Fire Release: Falling Fire Scatter
Rank: C
Type: Offensive
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra cost: 15
Damage points: 30
Description: The user whilst in mid air will release from their mouth a series of small fire shots that rain down upon the target.

Quite simple. This requires you to be in mid-air however. You gather up your fire chakra in your lungs and shoot out several fireballs at the opponent, which come raining down as shots. Since these come diagonally crashing down, they have added speed and force when they fall. Also, it's a good way to engage the opponent this way and when he tries to escape, you can set up a trap to kill or constrict him in place.

( Katon: Kitsunebi ) - Fire Release: Fire Whisp
Rank: C
Type: Offensive
Range: Short - Long
Chakra cost: 15
Damage points: 30
Description: The user creates a small ball of bright fire from their mouth that shoots at the opponent burning on impact.

Another variant of the D-Ranked tech. Here, you gather Fire chakra and shoot out a fireball, which is small in size. The catch here is that the fireball is quite bright, than normal fireballs, so this can be used on a sunny terrain to make it difficult for the opponent to evade. This travels till long range, which is quite nice. You can use the bright fireball as cover to throw explosive tags, or bladed weapons. Otherwise, I don't see any potential uses in battle.

Upon reading this technique, all to my mind came was the disadvantage this technique has. Let's start from the beginning, you have to be in mid air. Now, you can either jump really high, or use a technique like Hurricane Fist. I prefer the first option. Once you are in air, you literally have minimal freeform control to your movements. Only way, I'd see myself moving up in air is using some wind technique. This leaves you open to various attacks, however, it can give you a birds eye view of the battlefield below so that's something. The expelling of the just works like any other katon projectile, but this one fires a series of small fire shots that rain down. Not sure how much a series is, but I'm assuming its about 4-5. Overall, it's a mediocre technique, it differentiate itself from others with the mid air aspect.

Like you said, I don't see any potential uses in battle other than hiding small objects. However, it could be used to counteract the effects of the Nara's Shadow Manipulation, the bright fire could light up the shadows. The fire ball travels long range, yes but that doesn't make up for its lack of power and uniqueness. Even if my opponent was in long range, I highly doubt, I would utilize this technique as an approach for an attack. It's a basic technique that could possibly light up the wood for my campfire, so in the NW, I might use it for that. If I had to give this just a rating, I'd give it a 2/10 for obvious reasons.

Remember, if you jump high, you can't use the jump to evade any technique.

( Katon: Gōenkyū ) - Fire Release: Great Blaze Ball
Rank: B
Type: Offense
Range: Short/Long
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage Points: 40
Description: The user after performing two hand seals Horse → Tiger exhales a big-sized sphere of fire that carries the enemy away and causes a massive explosion on impact. The fire ball has a given solidity property to it, being able to punch through solid obstacles without exploding.

You weave two handseals, and gather up your Fire chakra in your lungs, channeling it to your mouth. You then, convert your Fire chakra to fire, and shape manipulate it to form a giant sphere of fire. Now, the special thing about this technique is that you have to add solidity to the fire sphere, using shape manipulation, as well compress it to a large extent. The sphere doesn't have the usual properties of fire, i.e. burning. It is solid in it's form, and can carry away your opponent a considerable distance, forming a massive explosion on impact, once the condensed chakra within it is released all at one moment of time. Alternatively, you can manipulate the sphere to let it pass through solid obstacles without exploding. It can travel upto long range, which is pretty brilliant. This is a very useful jutsu to take your opponents by surprise, since they would usually counter it using a water technique, which wouldn't really work against this.

( Katon: Gōenka ) - Fire Release: Great Flame Flower
Rank: B
Type: Attack
Range: Short - Long
Chakra cost: 20
Damage Points: 40
Description: The user jumps in the air and shoots three giant bullets of fire that come down like giant meteors, then erupt into a geyser of flame.

This one needs you to be in mid-air. Once you're airborne, you will gather your Fire chakra in your lungs and exhale out 3 giant fireballs from your mouth, in the form of bullets, by compressing your chakra. The bullets erupt into a giant geyser of violent flames once they reach the ground, and travel like meteors, and since they travel diagonally downward, or straight downward, their speed and intensity increases due to the gravitational force and the opponent would find it hard to defend from these from the top, and even if he defends, you can use the time window to come up with a combo. Augmenting this with a Wind jutsu would make it super deadly. This again has a long range reach which is excellent, as well as requires no handseals, so it's quite fast to perform. One of the most useful jutsus in B-Ranks.

You can't use this to evade a technique by using the jumping part of the description as a way to jump out of a technique. We used to do it earlier, but it has been ruled invalid now.

Excellent technique. It's a nice change of pace from the others, it follows the same initial creation as other fire technique but it differentiates during the shape manipulation. The fire sphere that is released carries the unique property of having solidity but it lacks in its ability to cause burning. Its able to pass by solid objects and not explode which I think I can exploit pretty well in a battle. Say your opponent uses a C Rank Earth technique creating earth walls around them, use this technique to punch through that and then have it explode upon breaking the walls. Not only will the opponent be affected by the explosion but the rock and debris that comes from the walls. It also goes up to long range, making it really versatile. Only drawback, I can see is possibly vision being blocked but a sensing technique should be able to take care of you not being able to see your opponent.

Had a question though, I don't get what you meant by a counter with a water technique wouldn't work? Shouldn't an A or equal rank water technique be able to destroy the fire ball?

I hate the mid air aspect in all honesty, puts you into a tight spot with light movement besides yourself going down. Besides that, I kinda like this technique. With this jutsu, you are able to fire 3 giant fireballs that travel down towards your opponent like meteors. Come on, how badass is that? Meteors. Not only that, it requires you to use no handseals. So your opponent will not likely predict you using this type of technique at all. Upon making contact with the ground or opponent, the fireballs explode into a geyser of flames which hinders your opponent from simply sidestepping the fireballs. It travels to Long range which is also a plus. Like I mentioned before, the jumping in mid air aspect is what hinders this technique since it puts you in danger but the effects of the technique kinda make up for it.

Well, what I meant was, it does douses the flames, but you gotta use a Water technique that has some punching force, as this Fire jutsu is a solid projectile, unlike the other fireballs, which aren't really solid. Or use a widespread Water technique. Or maybe, a Water technique with similar punching force.

( Katon: Hiendan ) – Fire Release: Soaring Flame Bullet
Rank: B
Type: Offense, Defence
Range: Short
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage points: 40
Description: The user exhales a stronger yet shorter version of the Fire Release: Great Fireball technique.

Description says it all. You don't require handseals for this, which is a big plus. You'll do the same process; inhale, gather your Fire chakra in your lungs with the inhaled oxygen, and then compress your Fire chakra to form a giant sphere of fire from your mouth. Alternatively, you can exhale this a stream, same like Great Fireball tech. This technique is just a variation of the C-ranked Great Fireball, but here, you input more chakra, and it is stronger obviously. But, the range is limited to only short, so it's pretty alright. It's quite fast, and can be used in short range to hinder Taijutsu users.

( Katon: Gōryūka no Jutsu ) - Fire Release: Great Dragon Fire Technique
Rank: B
Type: Offense/Supplementary
Range: Short/Long
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage Points: 40
Description: The user fires several large dragon-shaped fireballs at their opponent after performing one handseal. It is able to alter localized weather conditions to the point of making thunder clouds when shot into the air, enabling the user to perform Kirin.

This is one of my favorite Fire jutsus in the B-Ranks. You weave one handseal and gather your fire chakra in your lungs, and exhale out fire, while shape manipulating it to give it the shape of a dragon, and forming a fireball. You expel these fireballs rapidly in succession. The fire in these fireballs is hot enough to change the weather conditions, and due to the extreme heat, thunder clouds are formed. Obviously, the range is long, so it's pretty great. It can easily be comboed with Wind jutsus to augment it's intensity and speed. This tech serves as a prerequisite for performing one of the most powerful Lightning techs; Kirin.

Alright, good start to this technique with no handseals although it wouldn't really matter if you happen to be a fire specialist. It follows the same process of expelling like its weaker variant. Nothing too different besides the fact that you can exhale it like a stream and that it doesn't go up to Mid Range like its C Rank variant and is stronger like you said. It's a good technique, not the best but not the worst either. Other jutsu really do the same thing but better than this.

This infamous jutsu lead to the powerful jutsu known as Kirin, what you do with this is basically do one handseal and exhale dragon shaped fireballs in rapid succession. Although it may seem like any other katon technique that only differentiates itself with the dragon shapes, it really isn't. The fireballs are hot enough to change the weather conditions, basically if fired towards the sky, create thunder clouds. And then, if you are like Sasuke, you can use the thunderclouds to bring down Kirin, basically the most powerful lightning jutsu. Since the fireballs travel to the clouds, its long range. What you could do to setup for kirin, is send one fireballs towards your opponent and the others to the sky. Gives you some room to setup for Kirin but doesn't leave a hole in your offense even if you are setting up Kirin. Even if you didn't want to setup Kirin, this technique can be used to deal with the pesky long range fighters. Awesome jutsu.

( Bakuhatsu Enhogan ) – Exploding Flame Shots
Rank: B
Type: Attack
Range: Mid
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage points: 40
Description: The user shoots multiple fire shots from their hands that are able to cause fiery explosions on impact with any object. The shots can't set the opponent on fire, though they can cause damage by exploding on him.

This one is explosive fire again. You gather your Fire chakra in your hands, and condense it, so that all your chakra in focused at one point and form fire. You then swing your hands, and you shape manipulate the fire to form several shots which then leave your hand, once you swing it. The fire shots cause explosions with the object they collide with, due to the sudden release of the built up chakra all at once. They however, don't have the ability to burn, and can only cause explosions. You can make them converge on your opponent, and use a Wind jutsu to speed up their travelling. Can you tell me why the range is given as mid?

( Katon: Hōsenka Tsumabeni ) - Fire Release: Phoenix Sage Flower Nail Crimson
Rank: B
Type: Offensive
Range: short - Mid
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage points: 40
Description: The user unleashes a volley of shuriken with one hand, while at the same time exhaling fire-infused chakra onto them in order to increase the weapons' destructive potential by making them capable of inflicting severe burns upon direct contact with either the intended victim or any other object caught within their trajectories. Due to the chakra-based nature of the flames that surround them, the shuriken will continue to burn after impact, regardless of the flammability of the object that they ultimately collide with.

This was used by Itachi against Killer B. You take out several shuriken, and gather a medium amount of Fire chakra in your lungs. You then throw the shurikens, while exhaling fire at them, at the same time. As other projectile weapons, you can throw the shurikens in such a way so that it is hard for the opponent to defend from them all at once. Since the flames are made up of your chakra, the shurikens continue burning even after impact continuously, unlike other fire techs, where the flames disappear once the chakra put into them is exhausted.

The jutsu is pretty good, it doesn't burn but it does explode. Instead of releasing it through from your mouth, you gather chakra in your hands and condense that same chakra and form it into fire. Upon swinging your hands, you utilize shape manipulation and shape the fire into several shots as you swing your hands. Explosions will be created if the fire shots happen to collide with a soli object. If you wanted to you could utilize this technique to explode the ground around your opponent to have debris, rock, and sand block their vision and such.

The range is mid because if it was short, you could quite possibly be caught in the explosions of the fire shots.

Another shuriken related jutsu, what you do is take out several shuriken, throw the suckers and with your katon chakra gathered in your lungs, you exhale fire onto the shurikens at the same time. The fire feeds on the amount of chakra that you invested in it, so the flames have basically a time limit that's possibly the reason why it isn't long range. You could quite possibly throw the shuriken at different angles and heights so it makes it difficult for your opponent to guard against them. However, since they are just shuriken, I could see the projectiles easily thrown off by a wide ranged attack, which could take care of the shuriken and then you.

(Katon: Zukokku) - Fire Release: Intelligent Hard Work
Rank: A
Type: Offense
Range: Short/Mid
Chakra Cost: 30
Damage Points: 60
Description: The user after performing the required hand seals Rat → Dog → Tiger fires a small fireball that erupts into a giant fire-storm after making contact with a surface, causing widespread destruction to the area. Since the flames travel along the ground, and cover such a wide area this is a difficult technique to evade. When combined with Wind Release: Pressure Damage, this technique is amplified to the point of being able to evaporate a large amount of water in an instant.

This was shown by Kakuzu via his Fire mask. You weave the Rat → Dog → Tiger handseals, and gather a large amount of chakra in your lungs. Once you nature manipulate your chakra into Fire chakra, you channel it to your mouth. Then, you compress your chakra upto very high levels, so as to give the fire the shape of a small fireball. This can be easily mistaken by the opponent as a regular fireball. However, the special properties of this fireball is that, when it makes contact with any surface, the compressed chakra releases at once, expanding into a giant fire-storm, which is very fast in it's travel. Kakuzu combined it with his infamous Pressure Damage technique, which turned it into a super deadly wind-fire combo. Since, it's a projectile, you can quickly follow up with a combo and your opponent, unless he metagames, can't realize that it's a high ranked jutsu. This tech gives you the advantage of being a projectile, as well as covers a vast area, which makes it a very excellent jutsu.

(Katon: Gōka no Jutsu) - Fire Release: Hellfire Technique
Rank: A
Type: Offensive
Range: Short - Mid
Chakra cost: 30
Damage points: 60
Description: The user will manipulate their chakra and breath out from their mouth a large fireball that travels at the opponent. As it reaches the opponent it bursts into a maelstrom of fire engulfing them in flames.

Quite straightforward. You gather your fire chakra in your mouth and exhale out a large fireball from your mouth. Again, the special part about this technique is due to the compression of chakra, and the amount of chakra input, once the fireball reaches your opponent, it turns into a giant maelstrom of fire. Excellent for combos. The only downside is that, since the fireball is large, you can't see your opponent and vice versa. One of my favorite Fire jutsus. Just fire off the fireball, and move on to another technique, so that the opponent doesn't escape the impact of the fireball.
