I'm gonna RP as Saito instead of Rin, I keep on writing Saito instead of Rin, and Saito's my preferred bio anyway, so yeah, just giving you a heads up.
___________________________

Saito listened to Mystogen explain to him the first two techniques of the B ranks.

Saito did 7 hand seals and focused a much larger amount of katon chakra than what what needed for the C rank techniques.

Holy crap, I can feel the difference in my lungs, thats way hotter! Saito thought as he moved the katon chakra from his lungs to his mouth, then spewed them along the ground. As the stream of fire neared a boulder, he made the fire rise, and it completely incinerated the boulder.

Oh my god. It melted the whole boulder. And the ground which it traveled on!

So, I can see myself using this in battle a lot because this jutsu can be controlled to rise up, along with the fact that its so hot that it can melt things very quickly. To defend against this technique, a wave of water would do nicely.

Saito as he was saying that last part had already started gathering katon chakra in his palms and in the air in front of his palms. As soon as he was done with what he was saying, he held both of his hands out open palmed and forwards, and a small fireball appeared on each palm. The fire was very clearly unstable as it was shaking and sending sparks everywhere. Saito sent a burst of chakra outwards which sent each ball of fire outwards, making two craters in the ground.

In battle I would use this to shoot a barrage of explosive fireballs at the opponent in quick succession. To defend against this, I could create a wall of water/ shield of water, or again a big enough wave.

( Katon: Karyū Endan ) - Fire Release: Fire Dragon Flame Bullet
Rank: B
Type: Offense
Range: Short-Long
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage Points: 40
Description: The user first performs seven handseals Ram → Horse → Snake → Dragon → Rat → Ox → Tiger and kneads chakra into flames, which are then manipulated and exhaled as a thin yet incredibly fast jet of flames that spread across the ground as it runs towards the enemy. Its temperature is such that it easily melts the ground as it travels and can reduce an enemy to ash.
( Bakuhatsu Enhogan ) – Exploding Flame Shots
Rank: B
Type: Attack
Range: Mid
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage points: 40
Description: The user shoots multiple fire shots from their hands that are able to cause fiery explosions on impact with any object. The shots can't set the opponent on fire, though they can cause damage by exploding on him.
Alright, now I know that you are aware of Fire's weakness to water... When describing how you'd defend, or how a technique is weak from now on, could you please think of that technique's specific weakness? Such as with the fireballs how the power is divided. You can also cause them to explode prematurely, protecting you from harm.

The next technique is a more powerful version of the Great Fireball Jutsu you learned previously, and requires no handseals, though the range on the jutsu is shorter. In essence, you inhale and then exhale a powerful stream of flame near your body. Though the flame doesn't travel very far, it stays within a general area and, as such, has great heat and power to harm. The reason you can't use it at as much range as its parent technique is because this technique has less shape manipulation and control, being just free flame, and so to keep the power it must be concentrated close to yourself.
The next technique uses the Horse and Tiger handseals. Then, begin to exhale a LARGE amount of fire. As you exhale, make sure to collect your flames into a very compressed sphere of fire before you, continually adding flame to the giant sphere as it travels towards your opponent. This sphere is so compressed with the sheer power of flame that it can punch a hole through solid objects - it's basically solid. This also means the sphere can carry away a target before exploding after a short distance of carrying.

Sorry for the super late reply ;~;
____________________________

Saito listened to Mystogen as he explained the next two techniques. Saito focused a large amount of katon chakra in his lungs. He let the chakra expand in his lungs, then brought it all to his mouth at the same time. Saito blew out a continuous stream of fire chakra into a large area in short range, incinerating the grass and flowers which were on the ground in the area which the fire was. After a couple more seconds of fire, Saito stopped igniting the katon chakra in his mouth and let it disperse.

Wow, that was huge. So, in battle I would use this if the opponent was in close range but not quite in taijutsu range, as that is where the technique is most effective. To counter this technique, I would use a pillar or hide beneath the earth because this fire technique can only reach short range and only effects the area above ground.

Saito right after he finished explaining pivoted on his heels and hid the horse then tiger hand seals. He focused a HUGE amount of katon chakra in his lungs, then brought it up to his mouth and exhaled it. A very condensed sphere of fire launched quickly through the air, then smacked into a clone which Saito had asked Mystogen to make (because he figured his own would "poof" too suddenly with this technique). Mystogen's clone was carried away by the sphere of fire, which then exploded into a barrage of flames and sparks.

Woah! That was so cool! Oh yeah, in battle, I would use this to pierce defenses and then cause burns as well as an explosion for good measure @_@. It seems like a very useful technique to me. To defend against this technique, I can imagine using something hard enough which the technique can't pierce to intercept it and make it explode. Obviously water works but thats too mainstream, as is simply avoiding. Some sort of technique to set off the fireball's explosion prematurely seems like a good counter to me.

Good, you're thinking in terms of the technique specifically.
( Katon: Hiendan ) – Fire Release: Soaring Flame Bullet
Rank: B
Type: Offense, Deffence
Range: Short
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage points: 40
Description: The user exhales a stronger yet shorter version of the Fire Release: Great Fireball technique.
( Katon: Gōenkyū ) - Fire Release: Great Blaze Ball
Rank: B
Type: Offense
Range: Short/Long
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage Points: 40
Description: The user after performing two hand seals Horse → Tiger exhales a big-sized sphere of fire that carries the enemy away and causes a massive explosion on impact. The fire ball has a given solidity property to it, being able to punch through solid obstacles without exploding.
The next technique is very simple in concept. Begin by jumping into the air, then spew three large fireballs down towards the ground. As the fireballs come into contact with the ground, they erupt into large geysers of flames that reach into the sky.

The following technique takes four handseals, before you compress katon chakra in your lungs. Using a technique similar to one used before, you're going to want to collect airborne minerals within your lungs and mix them with your chakra to create a hot ash which you can exhale to hang like a cloud of super-heated gas. Afterwards, you can click your teeth together, while focusing your chakra into them, to form a small spark, which ignites the ash and sets the entire cloud up in a ball of flame.

Thirdly, after one handseal you can exhale any number of large dragon heads, which fly in whatever direction you are facing as you exhale them. While these fireballs act like your average fire-based projectiles, they can also be sent into the sky to heat up the atmosphere, allowing moisture to collect in the sky (ie. create clouds) before cooling down quickly, causing the clouds to release the moisture in the form of rain. This technique leads great into other jutsu that call down lightning from the heavens, like Kirin.

After Saito listened to Mystogen explain all three techniques, he jumped into the air. He focused chakra in his lungs in three main areas, for three fireballs. He changed the chakra's nature, making the chakra take on the properties of fire, and then moved the chakra up his throat into his mouth. He spewed the three fireballs out of his mouth at the apex of his jump towards three clones on the ground. As the fireballs hit the ground, they each created a large geyser of flames which went higher than Saito was when he released the fireballs. Saito landed on the ground into a roll to break his fall.

Alright, to counter this technique, I can see Earth Release: Rock Section Cane working. I say this because the variation of this technique which launches many rock canes could make contact with the fireballs before they hit the ground, causing them to prematurely "transform" into pillars of fire. I would use this in battle if I was forced into the air by an opponents technique or if I had used a jutsu of my own which sent me into the air to avoid something, as I would already be in the air.

Saito created 5 water clones to help demonstrate his understanding of the next technique. Saito stood back from the clones, and weaved five hand seals. He focused chakra in his lungs and changed the nature of it to katon. He compressed the katon chakra in a single place in each lung. Saito took a deep breath to intake minerals which were floating around in the air, and then mixed the minerals with the chakra. He in turn created hot ash. He blew the ash out of his lungs into a cloud which covered his clones completely. Saito focused katon chakra in his teeth, and then clicked them together creating a few small sparks. The sparks landed in the cloud of ash, which instantly lit the whole cloud on fire, creating a huge ball of fire.

In battle, I would use this technique to minimize the opponents field of vision as well as give him or her a hard time breathing as well. If the opponent doesn't get out of the cloud of ash or set up a full body defense, he or she would be instantly burnt to a crisp from all sides. The opponent could also mistake this technique as smoke release, not realizing that it was in fact a katon jutsu until it was too late. To defend against this technique, that S rank full body rock armor would work very well as it covers the whole body. A strong fuuton jutsu to blow away the ash before it is lit would also work. A pillar, blast of wind, or anything like that to get out of the ash works as well. Hiding like a mole to escape underground could be very interesting as the opponent would have no way of knowing that I was not in the ash, and they wouldn't be able to tell once the ash was lit either. This could allow me to sneak attack the opponent.

Saito formed a single hand seal and focused katon chakra in each lung. He brought the chakra into his mouth and then quickly blew out 8 dragon heads. They went flew at extreme speeds towards a few clones which he created beforehand. The clones were able to defend against a few of the dragon heads using suiton jutsu, but because of the overwhelming number and speed of the heads, they were overtaken. Saito then did the same preparations and launched 16 into the sky. The atmosphere was quickly heated by the sudden fire in the sky, creating storm clouds.

In battle, I would use this technique to overwhelm the opponent with the sheer number and speed of the dragon heads. I dont know if these dragon heads have a specific difference when compared to regular fireballs besides their shape. If I had the training to preform Kirin, I could also use this technique to make preparations for it. To defend against this technique, a wide shield of some sort made out of stone or water would work well as it could defend against many dragon heads at the same time.

While I do not believe that a simple stone staff is enough to forcefully cause the gysers to erupt pre-maturely, that's a good way of thinking about it.
As for the second technique, any B-rank earth armor would work just as well as the S-rank one.

( Katon: Gōenka ) - Fire Release: Great Flame Flower
Rank: B
Type: Attack
Range: Short - Long
Chakra cost: 20
Damage Points: 40
Description: The user jumps in the air and shoots three giant bullets of fire that come down like giant meteors, then erupt into a geyser of flame.
( Katon: Haisekishō ) - Fire Release: Ash Pile Burning
Rank: B
Type: Offense
Range: Short/Mid
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage Points: 40
Description: The user spews superheated ash from their mouth after performing four handseals. The ash is hot enough to cause third-degree burns on the victim. Because it's composed entirely of ash, it stays in the air around the victim like a cloud. If the user clicks his teeth, the stagnant ash will ignite, creating a violent explosion.
( Katon: Gōryūka no Jutsu ) - Fire Release: Great Dragon Fire Technique
Rank: B
Type: Offense/Supplementary
Range: Short/Long
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage Points: 40
Description: The user fires several large dragon-shaped fireballs at their opponent after performing one handseal. It is able to alter localized weather conditions to the point of making thunder clouds when shot into the air, enabling the user to perform Kirin.
Your next technique is another weapon-based jutsu. First, hold a number of shuriken in one hand, exhaling flames onto them as you throw them. These flames will need very concentrated chakra, as the fire should continue to burn an object the shuriken has touched even after impact, as well as the flames should burn objects that are not normally flammable.

The second technique uses the Tiger handseal. After forming the seal, use your chakra to manifest a great number of flaming lanterns in the air around you. You do not exhale them, you simply super-heat the air in a specific area to generate chakra-fueled flames. You can create as many lanterns as you wish per use, being able to control them individually, but remember that the power of each individual lantern goes down with the total number you create going up.

The final technique you will learn in this set is yet another exhalation technique. First, release a quick burst of flame towards your target, and as the fire hits the ground, cause it to erupt into a large pillar 3-meters tall, engulfing everything within it's perimeters.

Saito gripped three shuriken from his ninja pouch, and threw the forward towards a clone. Right after Saito released them from his hand, he expelled three small fireball from his mouth onto each shuriken, which then travelled over each shuriken as they advanced towards their target. That all dug into Saito's clone at about the same time, and caught his cloths on fire very quickly. The clone "poofed" not long after.

In battle, I would use this if I wanted to send shuriken at the opponent but also want to catch the opponent on fire. This is a cool technique as I have always liked the D rank version of this technique, yet it has never really been powerful enough to do any serious damage. To defend against this technique, a wall of earth which the user is not touching at all would work nicely as this fire is special in the way that it can catch things on fire which wont normally light on fire. The wall also is a nice defense because it can stop all of the shuriken at once.

Saito next closed his eyes and brought his hands together, creating the tiger hand seal. He focused his superheated chakra into the air around him, and soon after tens of small balls of fire rose from the earth. Saito opened his eyes and was amazed by the light show. He showed Mystogen that he had control over each one by moving each one individually, and then all of them at once.

This technique would be great for overwhelming the opponent, as you can create many of them in an area close to the user. That means that if my opponent is near enough to me, I can create the fireballs all around him or her, then have the attack at different times. To defend, Water Shock Wave would work really well for two main reasons. The first is more obvious than the second, and that is that it is water, which is naturally effective against fire. The second is that is creates a huge wave of water, which means that is can put out a large majority of the fireballs at once.

Saito focused superheated chakra in his lungs once again, then brought said chakra to his mouth. He spurt out a fireball towards his clone's feet using the superheated chakra. Right as the fireball touched the earth's surface, it erupted into a pillar of flames 3 meters tall (how thick is it), burning the clone instantaneously.

Awesome! This technique would be useful against opponents who don't know that this technique will turn into a pillar of flames once it hits anything, because it looks like a normal fireball. To defend, something which prematurely sets off the transformation of the fireball into a pillar of flames would work well.

( Katon: Hōsenka Tsumabeni ) - Fire Release: Phoenix Sage Flower Nail Crimson
Rank: B
Type: Offensive
Range: short - Mid
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage points: 40
Description: The user unleashes a volley of shuriken with one hand, while at the same time exhaling fire-infused chakra onto them in order to increase the weapons' destructive potential by making them capable of inflicting severe burns upon direct contact with either the intended victim or any other object caught within their trajectories. Due to the chakra-based nature of the flames that surround them, the shuriken will continue to burn after impact, regardless of the flammability of the object that they ultimately collide with.
( Katon: Onidōrō ) - Fire Release: Demon Lantern
Rank: B
Type: Offensive
Range: Short - Long
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage points: 40
Description: After performing the Tiger hand seal the user will manipulate their chakra releasing it into the atmosphere around him to create several ghost-like flames resembling heads with horns and yellow eyes that then attack the target/s in a swarm.
( Katon: Honoo no Hashira Jutsu ) - Fire Release: Flame Pillar Technique
Rank: B
Type: Offensive
Range: Short - Mid
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage points: 40
Description: The user will manipulate their chakra into their chest and then they will release from their mouth a quick burst of flame towards their opponents feet which then errupts into a large pillar of flame reaching 3 meters tall and inflicting damage to the target.
The first technique uses the Monkey, Bird, Dog, and Ram handseals. After performing the sequence, focus your chakra into the air around you and cause it to erupt into a large tornado of flame. You can then manipulate that tornado to extend upwards and move out like a whip to attack others. You control the top of the tornado like a whip, while the base remains centered around yourself.

The second technique uses the Tiger, Horse, Rat, Dog, and Tiger handseals, after which you will exhale flames to do two things. First, you can use the flames to create a circle around your opponent to "trap" them in, while a majority of the flame is used to construct a large spider which advances on your opponent and attacks.

The final technique is very simple, no handseals, just sheer nature transformation. Convert your chakra into flames and exhale it in a wide stream. Yes, it's just that simple.

Oh boy, these techniques seem like fun!

Saito quickly formed the handseals Monkey, Bird, Dog, and Ram while focusing his superheated chakra in the air around him. He streamed a continuous amount of it into the air, and it soon caught flame, creating a giant tornado of pure fire. By focusing on controlling the chakra towards the top of the tornado, Saito directed the flaming beast of a technique towards a large stone building which Mystogen had just finished creating. The tornado smashed into it, causing blunt and burning damage to it.

Thanks for the target. Anyways, in a battle, I could use this to defend against certain techniques, then have the tornado attack the opponent, similar to Water Shock jutsu. This technique can also conceal what I am doing and where I am, so I could set up for something as long as it didn't require chakra. To defend against this technique, I could use Water Encampment Wall as it has the elemental advantage, as well as it has the capability to completely defend against it.

___
Two questions:

1) Does the tornado provide blunt and burning damage, or just burning damage?
2) How do I know where I am aiming the tip of the tornado? Is the fire clear or do I gain some sort of temporary sensing ability?
______

Saito next formed the Tiger, Horse, Rat, Dog, and Tiger handseals, spewing out two ball of fire. The first fireball advanced towards one of Saito's clones quickly, coming in contact with the ground and trapping him in a circle of tall flames. The second fireball hit the ground short range away from the clone, and it quickly shaped the flames of itself into a "nope" (a spider xD). The spider quickly ran towards Saito's clone, chomping it's arm off.

In battle, this could be useful to trap the opponent while at the same time dealing damage to them. To counter this technique, something to propel yourself into the air or a wide water jutsu would work.

________
Question:

Does the spider's bite cause physical damage and burning damage or just burning damage (as if a real big arse spider bit someone)
________

Saito focused a large amount of katon chakra in his lungs, then brought it all up to his mouth at once. He expelled it all, creating a wide stream of flames which created something similar to a wall even. It burned down a large part of a forrest which Mystogen and Saito were training near.

This technique seems incredibly useful. I can use this offensively and defensively because of its extremely wide range. I could use this to attack many opponents at once or to defend against many different things at once as long as this technique is still stronger. To defend against this technique, a great counter would be Hiding Like a Mole jutsu. This would be an excellent counter because A) the opponent can not see you dive into the ground because their own technique obscures the view, and B) the user of Hiding Like A Mole could get behind the opponent using it to set up an attack. Water Encampment Wall would work really well also as it would completely cover the user from the fire from the front.

All the while Saito was talking to Mystogen, his clones were panicking attempting to put out the flames in the forrest from the previous technique.

The tornado does carry some force behind it, allowing you to break though walls with it's power. When you use it, you have to know where you want it to go beforehand as your vision is obstructed.
The spider simply burns, but with that it can also "stab" people with it's long legs to burn them that way as well.
Also, that final technique is a lot less powerful than that.

( Katon: Kaen Senpū ) - Fire Release: Flame Whirlwind
Rank: B
Type: Offensive
Range: Short - Mid
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage points: 40
Description: After performing the required four handseals Monkey → Bird → Dog → Ram, fire erupts around the user's body and then launches towards the target in a spiraling-manner or expands engulfing the surrounding area in a tornado of flames. Anything nearby is incinerated as the flames erupt upwards.
( Katon: Benijigumo ) - Fire Release: Crimson Earth Spider
Rank: B
Type: Offensive
Range: Short - Mid
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage points: 40
Description: After performing five handseals Tiger → Horse → Rat → Dog → Tiger , the user spews out fire that both surrounds the enemy and then transforms into a spider that attacks the enemy. This technique effectively traps and attacks an opponent at the same time, and can be used to force them into another attack.
( Katon: Hi no Iki ) - Fire Release: Fire Breath
Rank: B
Type: Offensive
Range: Short - Mid
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage points: 40
Description: The user breathes a powerful stream of fire from their mouth at their target.
The next technique you will learn is actually quite simple. Essentially, you'll want to build up your katon chakra in your dominate arm, and then swing your arm in front of you. As you swing your arm, release the chakra building up into the air, allowing it to ignite into a defensive wall of flames before you. Obviously, this wall will damage any opponent who touches it, which, combined with the short time it takes to create, makes it useful in close-range to harm incoming taijutsu.
So, this next technique requires a sword, and is really two unrelated actions tied together into a jutsu. First, you'll want to slash at your opponent several times - it doesn't matter how you slash at them, so really it begins with some free-form Kenjutsu - and then leap into the air above your opponent, exhaling a fireball down at your opponent to harm them. Essentially, if you're ever locked in a sword fight and need to get away, you can use this technique to leap into the air above them and spew flames upon their head.
The final B-rank katon technique uses the Tiger handseal. After forming the handseal, exhale flames downwards at your opponent's feet, and manipulate your flames to erupt upwards as they hit the ground. Your opponent must be fairly close for you to do this, and the flames travel upwards with enough power to lift a person into the air.

So let's see these last of the B-rank Katon techniques.

Saito turned away from Mystogen after he explained the next three techniques to him. He stood facing a clone which had moments ago risen from a puddle whilst Mystogen was talking to him. Saito turned his body to the right slightly, and brought up his left hand. He twitched his fingers a little towards him, then back out to the clone a few times to get the clone to attack.

Let's see this thing's power!

The clone darted towards Saito and then at the edge of short range jumped off the ground. He brought his right leg to his right side to gain momentum into a spin, then attempted to land a kick using his right leg onto Saito's right shoulder. Saito focused a large amount of katon chakra in his right arm, and then swung it from the left side of his body to the right side, creating a wall of fire which intercepted the clone's kick.

I would use this in battle to defend against taijutsu as it would also do damage to the opponent. I could also use this to hide myself from them and then possibly go underground. To counter this, Water Style: Gunshot would work well as I could break through the wall with it and then hit the opponent with it assuming they were still behind it. They also wouldn't be able to see the water nearing them.

__
Question: does the wall of fire have physical properties?
__

Saito reached his right hand behind his back and gripped the handle of his favorite sword, Derflinger. In one swift motion he ripped the sword from it's scabbard, and held it so the tip of the sword was low to the ground. He threw the sword high into the air and formed a few handseals, creating another clone. The clone reached for his own cloned version of Derfliger off of his back, while the real Saito looked up into the air in order to grab the falling Derflinger by it's hilt. As soon as Saito caught the sword, he sprinted towards his clone, holding the sword with two hands on his right side, the tip of the blade towards the ground. Once he got in reach of his clone, Saito made an upward slash aiming for his chest, but his clone held his own sword horizontal and blocked the slash. Saito let one of his hands release it's grip from the sword, and he punched the clone in the face with it. He then spun in a circle, and slashed the slightly dazed clone in it's right hip. Saito drew the sword from his body, and then jumped into the air. He focused katon chakra in his lungs and exhaled a large fireball which made contact with the clone, making him "poof".

Saito landed on the ground next to Mystogen by using a wind jutsu to make it look more majestic and epic (lol).

In battle I would use this as you said if I was locked in a kenjutsu battle and thought my opponent had the upper hand, so I would want to distance myself. To counter this, I could use kenjutsu of my own, or use a rock pillar to break their ankle(s).

(this last bit may be a little less quality rp wise as I just realized I'm pressed for time, sorry about that ^___^' )

Saito created another clone and focused katon chakra in his lungs. He looked at the clone head in the eyes and said:

Fly, birdy, fly.

Saito formed the Tiger handseal and exhaled a large amount of flames towards the clone's feet, which knocked him off balance and burned him up. Saito took control of the flames, and made them bend upwards. He was sent flying into the air whiles he sat atop the geyser of flames, burnt to a crisp.

In battle I would use this to do damage to the opponent as well as get them away from me. To counter, a pillar or wall to defend or dodge the flames would work well. A giant wave would also work.

As this technique is designed to protect you from incoming attacks, I would say that it has a "physical" state, capable of intercepting incoming force and dispersing it up to an appropriate rank. Also, you harm no one by taking your time and making good replies. U_U
( Katon: Honoo no Heki ) Fire Release: Flame Wall
Rank: B
Type: Offensive/Defensive
Range: Short

Description: The user kneads fire chakra into their forearm and then by swinging their arm in a wave motion they release the fire chakra creating a line of fire that spreads out infront of the user acting as a defensive wall.
( Katon: Hinotama no Mai ) - Fire Release: Fireball Dance
Rank: B
Type: Offensive
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 20
Damage points: 40
Description: The user will attack the opponent with a series of slashes with their sword and then finish up with jumping into the air above the target and releasing a powerful fireball down upon them.

Description: The user manipulates their fire chakra and doing the tiger hand seal, shoots an intense fire stream at the opponents feet which then lifts them into the air in the eruption of a column of intense flames. Sasori can replicate this technique through the usage of his fire launcher.
Now, the first technique of the A-ranks is used in conjunction with other techniques. Even if you can't use the first techniques in combination, I'm going to teach this to you for when you do learn them. So, watch this.
Weaving handseals, Mystogan caused a tear in space and time to open above an empty area near him. A large amount of sticky mud fell from the hole, covering the ground in a mound of goo. Then he performed more sequences to cause several blue pillars to rise up around the goo, before turning to his student.
Now you're going to perform the Rat, Dragon, and Boar handseals and send your chakra into the walls of the prison I made. Condense your chakra, and then release it inwards, generating a large flame that hardens the mud and burns anything inside. While you don't have to use this technique with the mud jutsu, it can only be used with Lightning Release: Sixteen-Pillar Bind.
Your next technique uses the Rat, Dog, and Tiger handseals. After performing the sequence, you need to condense your katon chakra into a very small area. Build as much chakra as you can into as small a sphere as you can make before exhaling it, sending it outwards to a point where it makes contact with an object. When your chakra makes contact with another object, you will need to let it expand outwards into a massive maelstrom of flames. It's not so much an explosion, but just your fire expanding outwards rapidly.
The third technique is partially doton, though you don't require training in that area to use it. First, you will need to stomp on the ground to create a tunnel under the ground from you to your target location. Then, exhale flames through the tunnel. As your flames travel, they'll pull dirt and debris with them, melting them in the process. You'll then want to contain your flame within the tunnel, the heat radiating into the ground around it to continually melt the ground. Then, on command with a handseal, you can cause the tunnel to erupt upwards.

Saito watched as Mystogen weaved a few handseals which in turn forced a large amount of gooey mud to drip down from an opening in the air. After the mud had piled up on the ground, Mystogen wove a few more handseals which caused multiple blue pillars to rise up from the ground around the gooey mud. Saito listened as Mystogen began to speak to him, instructing him on what to do next. Saito wove Rat, Dragon, and Boar handseals whilst channeling his chakra into the blue walls which Mystogen had created. Saito focused on condensing the chakra in the walls, then he released it out of them into the center of the prison like structure creating a large fire which hardened the mud quickly.

In battle I would use this to stop the movements of an opponent, then quickly transition to an attack focused in the area which they are trapped. This could cause a very dangerous situation for an opponent to become present, forcing them to immediately deal with the threat. To counter this technique, hiding like a mole would allow for a quick escape. I would have to be careful not to use large scale suiton techniques to counter this because I could end up just harming myself due to the electricity.

After giving his response, Saito listened once again to Mystogen as he explained the next technique. Saito weaved the Rat, Dog, and Tiger handseals while he focused on concentrating a large amount of chakra into his lungs and condensing it. Saito continued to condense the chakra in his lungs until he was satisfied. Once he had done that, Saito brought the chakra to his mouth and shaped it into a small sphere. Once he was once again satisfied by it's tiny size, Saito exhaled the fireball towards one of his clones which was standing in a group of five others. The fireball made contact with the clone, and Saito released the massive built up chakra which was condensed in the sphere. Very quickly fire spread outwards, engulfing the entire group of clones in a mere moment.

In battle, I would use this against an opponent because they might not realize how big of a fire it will create once I release the built up chakra. I would also use this if there was a group of enemies together as this technique has the potential to damage multiple targets at once. To counter this, I would say either getting away from it as soon as possible or using another technique to overpower it before the opponent causes the flames to expand. A large wave or suiton based technique would also work because it could intercept the fireball and extinguish the large increase of flames.

Saito listened as Mystogen explained to him the next technique. Saito stomped his right foot on the ground, causing bits of earth below him in front of him (though underground) to hollow, creating a tunnel. Saito focused his katon chakra in his lungs, inhaled, then exhaled, releasing a stream of flames into the tunnel, filling it up. After a few seconds, Saito preformed a handseal and forced the fire to rise up, breaking through the surface of the earth and burning a group of clones.

In battle, I would use this to create a large scale assault on a group of enemies as this technique has the capability to harm multiple opponents at once. I could also use this after my opponent was distracted by something else or was forced to stay in a particular area for some reason due to some technique. If possible, I would prepare the fire underground, then wait until I needed to use it later. To counter this technique, theoretically Swamp of the Underworld would work, though unless you really need to stay in that area instead of dodging, this wouldn't be a desirable way to deal with this. World Shaking (I believe it's called) could also work I believe as it could maybe cave in the areas with the fire in it.

Question: Is World Shaking a legitimate counter to this technique? Also could I prepare this technique, go into battle with the opponent (using other elemental attacks), then use the prepared technique or no? I'm asking that because the way you described it, ("on command"), it makes it seem like that might be possible.

I don't think Swamp of the Underworld, or any other "mud creating" technique would be a proper defense, as you are controlling the fire, and really that would just create globs of burning mud/lava going everywhere, instead of burning rocks. Also, not World Shaking, but the technique that causes cave-ins would be a proper defense. That is, as long as you are not standing directly overtop of the tunnel, and you're aware the tunnel is there. Also, for that last technique you'll want the tunnel to go as far as possible, because when it explodes upwards, it also goes outwards and sends burning debris everywhere. So if the tunnel is behind your opponent, instead of in front, you can send them upwards with the burning pseudo-lava. Also, you can't use techniques between creating the tunnel, filling it with flame, and then causing the explosion - to do so would render your ability to complete the jutsu null.
(Katon: Shageki Bisuketto) – Fire Release: Firing Biscuit technique
Rank: A
Type: Offensive, supplementary
Range: Short – Mid
Chakra cost: 30
Damage points: 60
Description: After performing the needed hand seals Rat → Dragon → Boar the user then creates powerful flames inside the giant oven created by Lightning Release: Sixteen pillar bind, cooking the opponent until their burnt. Its normally used together with Earth Release: Mud fall to harden the mud covering the enemy, immobilizing them.
Note: Can only be used in the collaboration of Lightning Release: Sixteen Pillar Bind
(Katon: Zukokku) - Fire Release: Intelligent Hard Work
Rank: A
Type: Offense
Range: Short/Mid
Chakra Cost: 30
Damage Points: 60
Description: The user after performing the required hand seals Rat → Dog → Tiger fires a small fireball that erupts into a giant fire-storm after making contact with a surface, causing widespread destruction to the area. Since the flames travel along the ground, and cover such a wide area this is a difficult technique to evade. When combined with Wind Release: Pressure Damage, this technique is amplified to the point of being able to evaporate a large amount of water in an instant.
(Katon: Keshi Makuga Hara) - Fire Release: Exploding Flame Crater
Rank: A
Type: Offense
Range: Mid-Long
Chakra Cost: 30
Damage Points: 60
Description: The user first stomps on the ground, using his fire chakra and making an underground tunnel from between themselves and the opponent. They then breathe out fire into the tunnel, causing the fire carry rock and other debris with it as it travels, melting them. With a single hand seal, the molten rock debris will erupt from the ground underneath the opponent, engulfing them and burning them alive.
So, this first technique is a rather simple concept. You simply ignite a line in front of you, creating a small flame, and then send out a gust of wind to kick up the flame into a large stream of fire. This wind is part of the technique, so it doesn't have to be posted separately or count as a separate move, though it does add a unique feature to the technique. By using wind to push forward and expand flame, you create a cone that starts at the ground and expands upwards as it goes out. This is useful for a surprising attack range (upwards), but it also creates a "safe zone" near you and above the edge of the cone of flame.

Second is a technique so strong, it has been dubbed "hellfire". Very simple in creation and use, this technique is simply a large mass of condensed flames which you exhale at a target location, where it expands. It's very similar to other techniques, but is quite fast to use and does not require even a single handseal.

The final technique is rather simple as well. By focusing chakra into your foot, and stomping on the ground, you can send this chakra across the ground towards three points near a target location. These three points, containing your chakra, will then erupt upwards into pillars of flames. The two "outer" pillars are equal distance from the central pillar, so be mindful of that, though that is really the only restriction on how they're positioned. Finally, you are only sending chakra through the ground, not fire - just for any potential confusion that may arise from this technique, it is the chakra only that is being transported, and the chakra becomes flame at the end.

First things first, my Saito Hiraga bio got dropped for my Kirito bio, so I'll rp as him now.
__________________

Kirito listened to Mystogen as he explained the next technique to him. He noted the usage of fuuton here and how it would increase this jutsu's range and power. Within a moment after Mystogen had finished, Kirito had channeled katon chakra along the ground in front of him in a short line, and igniting it. Next he gathered fuuton chakra in his lungs, then spewed it out onto the fire which caused the flame to grow and push forwards where it lit a giant pile of wood on fire which a few of his clones had built. Said clones jumped onto the woodpile and clashed swords for as long as possible until all but one of them "poofed" due to the fire.

In battle I could use this to catch opponents off guard possibly. They could see the small bit of fire and relax a bit, but then with the addition of the wind it could fry them. Because the fire is added on to with wind this technique also has the ability to knock over structures or people like any fuuton technique. To counter this, one could try and prevent the opponent from adding the wind to the fire. Going underground to make it look like they were consumed by the flames could work as well.

Kirito took a seat on a log as Mystogen began to explain to him the next jutsu. As Mystogen spoke, Kirito noted the immense power and speed which this technique held, and he was pleased. Grinning, Kirito jumped off of the log into the air, all the while gathering a great amount of katon chakra in his lungs. Once he had gathered a satisfying amount, Kirito began to condense the chakra so that it's great amount of flames could be controlled until impact of the fireball. After that, Kirito spewed a fireball towards a much bigger wood pile which his clones had put together again. The fireball raced towards the woodpile at a very great speed, and within a second it made contact. The gathered chakra expanded instantly, lighting the entire wood pile on fire. Before the clones had a chance to play their little game again, the woodpile collapsed.

I can see myself using this technique often. It's speed, lack of hand signs, and power have all caught my attention. In battle I could use this on a large summon, a group of enemies, a large defense, and more. This would work very well on a single enemy as well as if they didn't deal with the fireball, the expansion of flames after impact would burn them for a while before they could escape (in many cases). To defend against this, a technique which has solid properties used to intercept would work. The idea behind that is to prematurely set off the expansion of flames. Large suiton techniques I image are also great ways to deal with this as they have the elemental advantage and can deal with the expanding flames.

Listening to Mystogen again, Kirito watched as the clones which didn't get to have their little contest awkwardly stood around by the burning pile of fallen wood. Once Mystogen was finished explaining, Kirito called out to them to create three more piles, a middle one and one on either side of it roughly the same length apart from the center one. The clones quickly built the piles, then stood back. Kirito focused katon chakra into the ground in front of him in three places to form a sideways line in front of him. Igniting the chakra in the ground, large pillars of spinning fire, or almost vortexes, appeared and sped towards the piles. Each pillar made contact with a pile, igniting it as Kirito thought about how interested he was in this technique.

In battle, I could use this if there were multiple targets I needed to deal with. This can also be used to intercept incoming techniques or weapons. This is really interesting in the way that even if the target dodges one of the pillars, they might be faced with one of the others. To defend, moving into the lane where there is no pillar is the easiest solution. Large walls or suiton techniques also could work. There isn't always a need to deal with all three pillars, but only the one which is threatening to hit you.

( Katon: Gōka Honoo no Hashira Jutsu ) - Fire Release: Great Fire Flame Pillars Technique
Rank: A
Type: Offensive
Range: Short – Mid
Chakra cost: 30
Damage points: 60
Description: The user will knead their fire chakra and release it into the ground by stomping down their leg and then causing three pillars of fire several meters tall spaced out evenly. The Pillars of fire can act as a defensive wall against incoming techniques or targets or used to attack low aerial targets.
Mystogan watched his student performing the technique, exactly as described. He couldn't say he was overly impressed with the descriptions given by his student, as they were fairly average, but he wasn't disappointed either. They could move on with this.

This next technique requires shadow clones, so either form them if you can or borrow some of mine. Then all three of you will form the dog, rat, and tiger handseals, building up fire chakra in your chest. You will then all release flame from your mouths so that it will form together into one large dragon of fire. This dragon can then be manipulated by your will and chakra however you wish. It carries simple burning properties - not much special about it.

The final A-rank katon technique utilizes the tiger handseal. Then, you need to build up and compress katon chakra to release several dragon-like balls of flame. The fire is condensed and hot, so much so that a combination of the compressed fire and the wall of displaced air from the heat surrounding the fireball cause it to take on solid-like properties. The final property of this technique is that you can control the fire with your chakra as you wish - the technique isn't simply linear.

So, why don't you try these out, and we can move onto the S-ranks once you finish.

Kirito listened to Mystogen explain the next two techniques to him. The first technique required Shadow Clones which he could not create yet due to his current place in Ninjutsu training, so Mystogen created two for him

All right you two, for this technique we are all going to weave the dog, rat, and tiger handseals whilst building up katon chakra. We will then all release the flames into one area in front of us to create a large dragon. Ready?

The two clones nodded, and they all began to weave the required handseals and build up their katon chakra. A moment later, they released their built up chakra in the form of fire into the same general area, and a dragon began to take shape from it. Kirito took full control of the dragon using his will alone. He made it fly through the sky, making sharp turns and such to test it out.

That's awesome! In battle I would use this if I had clones already on the battlefield with me. This is really interesting to me as I can make the dragon intercept or avoid things to protect me or attack the opponent. Because it can avoid techniques if I want it to, it makes it a dangerous technique which I for one would not like to be up against, though I do know of a way to deal with this. I'll go back to what I said before about how the dragon can avoid techniques. The dragon can avoid projectiles, focused gales, fireballs and such, but a technique which has a wide range like a giant wave can't be avoided. An ideal counter against this technique would be "Water Release: Great Exploding Water Colliding Wave". This is because it has a wide range and it has elemental advantage.

Moving on to the next technique, Kirito brought his hands together to form the "tiger" handseal. While doing this, he focused and compressed katon chakra in his chest, then brought it to his mouth. Kirito expelled the fireballs, and by following what Mystogen had told him earlier,

"The final property of this technique is that you can control the fire with your chakra as you wish - the technique isn't simply linear."

Kirito was able to have all of the dragon shaped fireballs float in the air in front of him. He moved them around a bit, having them spin around him and then zig zig forwards towards a boulder, barraging it with them. Kirito formed the tiger handseal once more while focusing and condensing his katon chakra, then spewed out several more dragon like fireballs. He sent them all spiraling upwards high into the air, and then sent them into a random pattern, each fireball moving in a different way. Kirito released the technique and turned to Mystogen.

That was pretty cool right there. In battle, I could use this technique to put the opponent in a tricky situation. Because the fireballs can be controlled in such a nonlinear path, they can be very unpredictable and can overwhelm the opponent. These, like the last technique, can be controlled to avoid or intercept techniques, making it even more versatile. To counter this, I could put my opponent in a situation which to counter they needed to preform a different technique. This would force them to stop their flow of chakra into the fireballs, ending the technique. An example of such a technique could be "Earth Release: Stone Spikes". Going underground could provide a temporary escape as well. 360° defenses like a dome could work as well.

Alriiiiiiiiiiighty let's get going o-o. Normally I'd have a mini mock spar before going onto the S-Ranks. However we'll hold off on that till the end of the training and see what you can do with what you've learned.

ANYWAYS, we'll go one by one here and knock them out of the way as we go. I expect detail. I don't ask for disadvantages or advantages as I don't believe any technique is so black and white (except with a few exceptions here and there). So try to focus not on that but where in battle you believe it can have a place. Every technique has a place and no technique is absolutely useless (again, probably a few exceptions here and there. But by and large for our purposes let's act like there isn't). So perform the technique as you normally would, and then tell me what you think in detail.

The first technique is basically a highly versatile, high powered, stream of fire. You have complete control over the technique being capable of producing as it says clearly, a narrow jet of flames or one that is highly concentrated that widens as it moves forward from you.

(Katon: Gōen no Jutsu) - Fire Release: Great Flame Technique
Rank: S
Type: Offensive
Range: Short - Mid
Chakra Cost: 40
Damage Points: 80
Description: The user does one handseal and inhales while molding a great amount of chakra into their lungs and expelling a large stream of flames from their mouth. The user has control over the concentration of the technique, being able to produce a narrow jet of flames, highly concentrated or one that will widen along its range. The flames are hot enough to quickly evaporate large quantities of water within a relatively short amount of time.

Rentaro listened as his new senpai explained his training method and then the technique. Bringing his hands together, Rentaro summoned a very large number of clones which would suffice to be used as targets for the techniques for the remainder of the training. Next, Rentaro formed the "tiger" handseal whilst gathering katon chakra in his lungs. Brining the chakra to his mouth, he exhaled it, creating a stream of fire. It was very condensed and powerful, and hit one of his clone's who was mid range away in an instant, lighting the poor guy on fire. He then put less stress on condensing the fire into a stream, and let is spread outwards. The flame grew greater in size, catching three more clones in the expanding flames.

All right, so this looks pretty awesome. It looks great for dealing with moving opponents as by simply moving your head you can control the direction of the flames. It's single handseal with S rank power is also noteworthy. It allows for this to be used in tight close range situations. Say if the opponent blitzes you, you can form one handseal and exhale this bad boy. Another thing to note which is in the text is "The flames are hot enough to quickly evaporate large quantities of water within a relatively short amount of time." That is something very useful. This can be used to deal with water techniques as long as this has a little bit of time to heat it. The fact that this technique has two variations is also cool. The concentrated beam is great for focusing on a single target, but a wider ranged/ expanded version allows this to pressure multiple opponents or make it harder to evade.

Alright, excellent work. The next perhaps my favorite of the S-Rank fire techniques. Although that doesn't mean much since S-Rank fire is kinda meh. Anyways, you release any number of fireballs (maximum of 8) into the sky which then rain down from above. Each fireball carries incredibly concussive and explosive capabilities. Do the norm and tell me why those capabilities are useful in regards to the technique beyond just dropping a fireball on someone from above?

(Katon: Gōkakyū Hitoame no Jutsu)Fire Release: Great Fireball Shower
Type: Offensive
Rank: S-Rank
Range: Short-Long
Chakra: 40
Damage: 80
Description:
Kneading his chakra and then converting it to fire, the user will do the Horse → Tiger → Snake → Ram hand seals as he inhales, exhaling into the sky a multitude of great fireballs (up to 8) at the same time which then rain down on the target from above causing severe, widespread damage around the field. These fireballs have explosive and concussive abilities, similar to other fire techniques.
