Munching on a slice of cake, I make my way to the field that my new fire Sensei had instructed me to meet him at.
I had heard that this new Sensei was pretty good, but I had my doubts as to whether he would be as great as my old fire Senpai, Tyki, who by far was the best instructor I had ever had.

Eventually I get to the designated location and I see my new fire Sensei using his backpack as a pillow, sleeping amongst the grass. I contemplate attacking him, but I had gotten a stitch from pacing too fast to the field while eating at the same time.

Instead, I walk up to my sleeping Sensei and wave the piece of cake I had been eating in front of his face. Hopefully the overwhelming chocolatey scent of it would wake him up. I knew it would wake me up.

Sarutobi, appearing to be sleeping in the sunlight in the training field is approached by a pale, black haired teenager. Unknown to the young man Sarutobi was a very light sleeper with highly trained senses and had regained his consciousness as the student was within 40 meters of him. However no aggressive intentions were emitting from him, and it smelled like he had delicious chocolate cake T_T

As the baked good was waved in front of his face a quick movement of his hand swiped it from the man's hand, Sarutobi lazily took a bite of the cake as the student realized Sarutobi's eyes were now open.

*swallows the bite* I assume you are here for training? My report said you had already had some training in Katon before. What was the last jutsu you learned? *takes another bite*

I watch in horror as Sarutobi makes my slice of cake ever so smaller with every bite. He asks me,

"I assume you are here for training? My report said you had already had some training in Katon before. What was the last jutsu you learned?"

When he finishes his question Sarutobi goes to take another bite.. but he bites nothing. As he had been speaking I had used my wind chakra to create a wind vacuum that had sucked the cake from his hand without him noticing.

I swallow the remaining cake in one gulp, thus preventing Sarutobi from stealing it back and consuming anymore of it. At least this way, I got more cake.

"Well Sensei, how about you tell me? Let's see how good you are."

Sarutobi raises an eyebrow as I pace away from him. I stop about mid range from him, he looks slightly befuddled.

"Okay Sensei, here is what I'm going to do. I'm going to attack you with the last technique I learned, and I want you to counter it. Once you've countered it, do you think you can tell me what technique I attacked you with?"

I gather my chakra in my body and mold this into katon chakra. At the same time, I perform 4 hand seals.

Sensei still lounges on the ground. Gosh, he was confident.

"Hey Sensei, I hope you can prove why you're so confident." I yell, before I channel my katon chakra into my mouth, superheating it as it passes through my throat. Once in my mouth, I use state manipulation to convert this chakra into ash which I then exhale from my mouth towards Sarutobi. Using shape manipulation, I make it form a cloud around his lounging body. I then click my cake embedded teeth together causing the ash to ignite and as a result, an explosion.

As my student walks away and weaves 4 hand seals I lazily read them like a book, my decades of Fire Mastery allowing my unmatched memory of ninjutsu to recognize the combination almost like I was a Sharingan user. As the cake-crazed teen spews forth the expected cloud of superheated ash, blocking his view of me in the process I effortlessly become covered in an armor of stone that replicates my physical appearance, if only slightly bulkier then normal. As the cloud explodes the stone armor takes the impact and burning damage. I stand up after the detonation, letting the remaining clumps of earth to fall off of me, the armor leaving me unharmed underneath as I appear (first as a silhouette, then shimmering into full view) to walk out of the cloud unharmed with my hands together behind my back.

(Doton no Yoroi) - Earth Release Armor
Rank: B
Type: Defensive
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 20 (-15 per turn to remain active)
Damage points: N/A (+10 to taijutsu moves)
Description: This Technique coats the users body with stones, making them much more resistant to attacks, at the cost of their speed. Whilst using this technique, the user can even change their appearance, but once the technique is either defeated or worn off the users original appearance is shown. The user whilst in this armor is resistant to A rank normal ninjutsu but is vulnerable to Lightning Techniques.

Ah, Katon: Haisekishō. My son Asuma tends to favor that one.

With you now confused due to my apparent immunity to your attack I continue the lesson

Since you seem to have that technique down we shall next learn Katon:Gōryūka no Jutsu

( Katon: Gōryūka no Jutsu ) - Fire Release: Great Dragon Fire Technique
Rank: B
Type: Offense/Supplementary
Range: Short/Long
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage Points: 40
Description: The user fires several large dragon-shaped fireballs at their opponent after performing one handseal. It is able to alter localized weather conditions to the point of making thunder clouds when shot into the air, enabling the user to perform Kirin.

I would like you to use this template every time you reply to a technique.
Try to be as detailed/descriptive as possible. All you have to do is copy the PHP code.

Form the Tiger seal and gather a large amount of fire chakra to your throat and lungs and expel several large fireballs in the shape of dragon's heads. They should be dense enough to punch through concrete and last long enough to fly up into the sky and heat up the local atmosphere and create thunderclouds. Do you have training in Raiton?

I watch intently, trying to learn of some kind of counter for the technique. However, what I get is Sarutobi, emerging, GOD like from the ash cloud, unscathed. It appears that Sarutobi were merely a counter to the technique himself, immune to it. He was some kind of GOD !

"Ah, Katon: Haisekishō. My son Asuma tends to favor that one."

I was in awe as Sarutobi continued to speak.

"Since you seem to have that technique down we shall next learn Katon:Gōryūka no Jutsu"

Sensei threw me a scroll, which I caught. As I unravel it, Sensei says,

"I would like you to use this template every time you reply to a technique. Try to be as detailed/descriptive as possible."

I look at the scroll which upon it is the template that Sensei must mean for me to fill out.

Awww, there was a theory side to this training

As I examine the scroll, Sensei continues,

I will then give a description of how all of the techniques work. I want you then, in your own words, describe to me what you are doing to get the desired result.

He clears his throat,

Form the Tiger seal and gather a large amount of fire chakra to your throat and lungs and expel several large fireballs in the shape of dragon's heads. They should be dense enough to punch through concrete and last long enough to fly up into the sky and heat up the local atmosphere and create thunderclouds. Do you have training in Raiton?

I decide to answer Sensei's last question before filling out the scroll.

"Yes, I have just finished C Ranks in Raiton." I say as I take a seat on the grass, scroll in hand. I pull from my pocket a pen, and begin pondering over the scroll like an exam, Sarutobi monitoring me like a teacher who was making sure I don't cheat. I also pull from my pocket a slice of cake, which I chew as I begin to fill out the scroll.

*scratch*chew*scratch*
*The sound of my pen getting to work on the scroll and my teeth on the cake.*

. . . . . .

( Katon: Gōryūka no Jutsu ) - Fire Release: Great Dragon Fire Technique

Strong points

  • [*]Requires only one hand seal and therefore is quicker to perform. Fired in quick succession, this would make the technique extremely difficult to anticipate and therefore counter.
[*]Is flexible in terms of range. It can cover both short-mid range. Clearly this means one can perform this technique regardless of how far or close they are to their opponent. Which means they don't have to try and get really close to their opponent to perform the technique, which is commonly believed to be a more vulnerable position to be in, or alternatively, don't have to try and get a fair distance from their opponent to perform the technique.
[*]The very fact that it can alter 'localized' weather conditions is an obvious, but probably greatest strength of this technique. For example , creating thunderclouds as stated, can allow the user to create kirin, which is one advantage, but also, the user if they possess rain release, can use the rain produced from the thunderclouds to their advantage. Further yet, it can combat against shadow techniques. One, the thunder clouds cover the sun, which results in insufficient lighting and thus, the shadows become less effective. And further yet, a thunder cloud will produce lightning the shadows weakness, as it eliminates the shadow momentarily with each bright flash.
Weak points

  • [*]Yes, altering the 'localized' weather conditions may be an advantage, but it can also be a disadvantage. For instance, if you are a Nara like me, not only does your opponent's, say they are a Nara, shadow techniques become limited, but so does yours. Also, other techniques which rely on kinder conditions are unable to be used, or become more limited. Further yet, altering the weather conditions can also have an effect on the actual landscape. For instance, earth becomes more muddier etc. And this can either be a disadvantage or an advantage depending on the technique you want to use.
[*]The nature of the technique, being so hot, means that your opponent, if struck by it can potentially be reduced to ashes. Therefore, you wouldn't want to use this technique if your intention were to capture your opponent alive not kill them.
[*]The fact that it creates a thundercloud as a separate technique can be a disadvantage. What I mean is if you used this technique as your last technique and then it was your opponents move, they could strike your cloud with the lightning technique to create Kirin, harming you instead.

Combinations-strategies:
For this technique, I like to combine it with a wind technique to make it a lot stronger. For instance, combining this technique with a wind tornado for instance would be pretty effective. I love combining it with this technique:

( Futon: Tatsumaki Heki ) - Wind Release: Tordado Wall
Rank: S
Type: Offensive
Range: Short - Long
Chakra cost: 40
Damage points: 80
Description: The user generates a large wall of 5 Tall tornadoes that are sent towards the opponent. A flying summoning can create this technique by simply flapping their wings to generate the wind for the technique.

Upon generating the thunderclouds, you can as stated earlier then use rain techniques more efficiently. And obviously you could use a lightning technique that is powerful enough to create Kirin with this technique.

Ways to counter:
I can think of ways to simply avoid/escape the technique, but to counter it I would probably use the same technique as above. Assuming it would upon contact with the flames, overpower it and take the flames back in the direction of my opponent as a fiery tornado wall.

. . . . .

I put my pen down, my hand aching more than it did in taijutsu practise.

So much writing in this training !

I lazily chuck Sarutobi the scroll for him to mark before stretching.
"Meh, I don't know about that eh.. "

I then pace long range from Sensei leaving him examining the scroll, deciding to perform the technique from the longest range possible as I needed the exercise walking there, seriously, I felt like I had sat on the ground for hours. Plus, it gives him time to mark my scroll.

As I walk I gather large amounts of chakra inside my lungs and throat, when I have enough, I mold it into katon chakra. When I have reached a fair distance from Sensei, I turn around and look towards him, he seems so far away now..

I think he is saying something, but he is too far away from me for me to hear.. maybe it is my terrible test result. Oh well, thinking of a counter for the technique is where I struggled, perhaps he could come up with a counter.

I perform the tiger hand seal.
You must be registered for see images

I then proceed to release the katon chakra that I had gathered in my throat and lungs out through my mouth, as I do so, I superheat it on its way. Upon entering my mouth I use nature manipulation to convert this chakra into fire, as it exits my mouth, I use shape manipulation to manipulate this fire into several large fireballs shaped as dragons heads, which I sent hurtling towards Sarutobi.

Just wondering, since you know about Kirin you know why I asked you that.

*looking at the scroll as the student walks away, making a few quick corrections*

Hmm, under strong points he put it was short-mid, incorrect. Countering fire with wind? Risky and a waste of chakra, but at least he is thinking creatively. Cake smeared on the sides of the scroll. I thought I was working with a Nara not an akimichi.

Upon finishing going over the scroll Sarutobi glances up and sees the student has walked away a far distance and has formed the tiger seal and begins expelling several large fireballs. Critiquing the fireballs upon their creation in his head as they hurtle towards the calm sensei.

With them bearing closer now, Sarutobi lazily forms a single seal (both my bios are actually Water affinity and he was a student under Tobirama, the best user of water ever) and emits a stream of water from his mouth that raises up and forms a wall of rushing liquid that allows the fireballs to slam into them and produce steam and a sizzling sound with every dragon that meets it's demise upon the wall of water.

(Suiton: Suijinheki) - Water Style: Water Encampment Wall
Rank: A
Type: Defence/Supplementary
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 30
Damage Points: N/A
Description: This defensive jutsu creates a wall of water around the user. The user will use the following hand seals to activate the technique Tiger → Snake → Rat → Snake → Tiger. Enemy attacks are completely intercepted by a fence of water blown out from the mouth, and is raised from below with tremendous might. The water is blown out in the form of a circle around the user, and it makes for a defence without openings. It is also possible for the user to control the amount of water and duration at will. Furthermore, because the field of vision is maintained even while defending one can easily go on to the next move, which is a great advantage. The wall can also be formed from a pre-existing water source.

With the last fireball defeated sarutobi stops emitting the water wall and lets the remains of the jutsu fall and soak into the humid ground around him. He then calls out to his student.

Those were made quite well! Your next jutsu won't be able to reach this far however so you might want to come back over here!

Once you have walked back into talking distance Sarutobi explains the next technique.

( Katon: Hōsenka Tsumabeni ) - Fire Release: Phoenix Sage Flower Nail Crimson
Rank: B
Type: Offensive
Range: short - Mid
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage points: 40
Description: The user unleashes a volley of shuriken with one hand, while at the same time exhaling fire-infused chakra onto them in order to increase the weapons' destructive potential by making them capable of inflicting severe burns upon direct contact with either the intended victim or any other object caught within their trajectories. Due to the chakra-based nature of the flames that surround them, the shuriken will continue to burn after impact, regardless of the flammability of the object that they ultimately collide with.

A technique I observed from Itachi Uchiha during his time growing up in the leaf. with one hand unleash a storm of shurikens and then shortly after, exhale a wave of fire onto them to cause them to be ignited, added another level of danger and power to normal ninja tools, once they strike an object the chakra fueling the fire will allow them to keep burning even if the object they are stuck to is non-flammable. However if they are it could easily cause the whole structure to go up in flames.

I watch as Sensei defends against my attack with ease. Water, pretty obvious counter. But I always struggled to decide which water techniques would be suitable to defend against a fire attack. I mean what rank of water technique can overcome a certain rank of fire technique? It was a question that made me think far too much.

Sensei upon finishing with my fireballs calls me over closer so he can introduce the next technique. This technique was called ( Katon: Hōsenka Tsumabeni ) - Fire Release: Phoenix Sage Flower Nail Crimson, I'd heard of it before. He then begins to explain it,

And with that, so another scroll was tossed at me.

Catching it, I begin to unravel it, knowing that there was to be a template for me to fill out. And so there was. Taking a pen from my pocket, I then sit down on the grass, forgetting that it had become slushy mud from Sensei's technique. Annoyed, I stand up again, the back of my pants mud covered and wet, and fill out the scroll while standing.

( Katon: Hōsenka Tsumabeni ) - Fire Release: Phoenix Sage Flower Nail Crimson

Strong Points

  • [*]An Obvious strong point of this technique is it increases the destructive capabilities of an already lethal shuriken by making them capable of burning their target as well as piercing them.
[*]A second obvious strong point of the technique is it allows the shuriken to continue to burn after impact. This makes it hard for an opponent to defend against them as their defense could ultimately become ignited itself, trapping them. Or could make it harder for an opponent to escape in general. For example, instead of the standard wound from a Shuriken strike, the shuriken can actually cause your opponent to go up in flames altogether.
[*] Lastly, another obvious strong point of the technique is the fact that multiple shuriken are thrown. This makes it more likely that your opponent will be struck by them, or can also mean the technique can strike multiple targets at once. It also makes dodging the technique a lot harder. Also, if you end up missing your opponent in a battle on a grassy area, there is a chance that the grass will actually ignite around your opponent causing them to be trapped.
[*] The technique is generally a fast technique to perform. It requires no hand seals to ignite the shuriken, and the shuriken travel quickly in general.
[*] Unlike thick walls of flame techniques, i.e. giant fireballs, your visibility is not as limited as the shuriken are generally smaller and therefore don't obstruct your view with a wall of flames. Thus, you can see what your opponent is doing to counter the technique. For example, he may go underground, and you will see him do so.
Weak Points

  • [*]An obvious disadvantage is also the fact that the shuriken continue to burn after impact. You could find yourself causing damage to your own village if you miss your opponent, burning down massive amounts of structures throughout your own village.
[*] The large amounts of shuriken thrown also mean that you do have a better chance of getting your opponent, but also missing. The fact that the shuriken don't stop burning upon impact means that if you miss, as stated before, you may burn down buildings or you could ignite the terrain (i.e. very dry grass) which could put you and your comrades at risk.
[*]Again, the fact that they continue to burn after impact, puts you at risk if an opponent were to send them back your way. i.e. a wind technique could push the shuriken back towards you. The shuriken then, will land around your general area, potentially ignite the terrain around you, (dry grass most likely would be the one to ignite) causing you to be trapped.
Combinations-strategies:

I guess you could mix some shadow infused blades in with the barrage of shuriken. It would be hard to tell the blades a part from the shuriken and your opponent could end up only deflecting the shuriken that look as though they are going to hit them. Ignoring the blades that miss, rendering them harmless, they don't realize the some of the blades are shadow infused ones, piercing their shadows and as a result keeping them paralyzed. The shuriken that do miss means that they could be extra harmful as if they did ignite the grass (say it was extremely dry) the opponent is stuck in place and trapped. What's more, if the shadow blades pierce the shadow before all the shuriken have arrived at the opponent, there is a chance that he won't even be able to deflect incoming shuriken at all and be struck by them.

(Kage Mane Shuriken) - Shadow Imitation Shuriken
Rank: D
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra cost: 10
Damage Points: N/A
Description: Traps the enemy buy throwing and hitting there shadow special blades infused with shadow chakra.

Ways to counter:

I guess you could escape under ground, but because your opponent can see what you're doing because visibility is not very limited that could be suicide. Or you could use a strong wind technique to push the shuriken back away from you. Such as,

(Fūton: Boufuu oonami no Jutsu ) - Wind Release: Gale Surge Technique
Rank: B
Type: Offensive
Range: Short - Mid
Chakra cost: 20
Damage points: 40
Description: The user will create a large surge of wind that is capable of pushing a target back and dealing some small cuts to them. The wind technique is also strong enough to push back a large summoning creature.

. . . .

I roll the scroll up and chuck it to Sensei. "Meh.." I say as I do so.

I leave him to mark as I make my way about mid range from him. Once there, I stretch before feeling my pocket for shuriken. Yup, there were plenty there for the technique. As I had been walking I had gathered my chakra in my lungs and throat. Now at the distance I wanted to be, I mold this chakra into katon chakra. Turning towards Sensei, I see him rolling the scroll up. He was a fast marker. I wondered what my score was this time. I also wonder what his counter will be for this technique.

I channel my Katon chakra to my mouth from my throat and lungs, superheating it a long its way. As I do this, I also release a volley of Shuriken towards Sensei.

My chakra enters my mouth by this stage, and using nature manipulation, I convert this katon chakra into fire which I exhale over the shuriken I just released, igniting them. The ignited shuriken now hurtle towards Sensei, looking calm and collected as usual.

. . . .

That reply took me the entire movie of Skyfall to write XD

Reading over the new report quickly Sarutobi was pleased, it was a simple yet effective combination of elemental ninjutsu and weapon play, his combination with the Nara's Kage Mane Shuriken technique was good, although his wind counter is incorrect, the flaming shurikens would eat through his wind blast and the shurikens would strike him.

Rolling up the scroll as his student turned around and unleashed the technique properly Sarutobi was so busy studying his timing between shuriken throwing and flame release he almost forgot the jutsu was aimed at himself. Giving barely a thought Sarutobi gathered lightning in his empty hand (the other still holding the scroll) and whipping his arm in a quick motion, unleashing a whip of lightning that tore through the blazing shuriken in multiple quick blows shattering them into tiny shards of metal across the ground as the lightning flickered away until dying out.

(Raiton: Torunedo Raitoningu) - Lightning Release: Tornado Lightning
Rank: B
Type: Offense/Defence
Range: Short/Mid
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage Points: 40
Description: The user generates lightning-based chakra in his/her palms that they can whip around in order to attack their opponent.

Not bad, although the counter you wrote down *casually holding the scroll up* was incorrect, in that situation you'd be struck by the shuriken. If you intend to defend an attack with it's elemental weakness you better have a good plan behind it.

As long as you remember that we can move on.

( Katon: Onidōrō ) - Fire Release: Demon Lantern
Rank: B
Type: Offensive
Range: Short - Mid
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage points: 40
Description: After performing the Tiger hand seal the user will manipulate their chakra releasing several fire ghosts that are like heads with horns and yellow eyes that then attack the target/s in a swarm.

Forming the Tiger seal to mold your chakra, release it into the air to create several flames that look like horned demon heads that float and attack in a swarm of flame ghosts. Oh and I see my water jutsu earlier muddied our training grounds so...

Sarutobi claps his hands then places one finger to the mud, releasing earth chakra into it to solidify it, using earth chakra to force water molecules out of the mud and returning it to normal earth.

Sensei, as predicted, deals with my shuriken with ease. A lightning technique sees them shattered into pieces which fall to the grass.

Not bad, although the counter you wrote down was incorrect, in that situation you'd be struck by the shuriken. If you intend to defend an attack with it's elemental weakness you better have a good plan behind it.

Ah yes, I had a habit of defending everything with wind techniques. For the next technique, I am determined to counter it with something else.

This next technique would be: ( Katon: Onidōrō ) - Fire Release: Demon Lantern. I had never heard of that technique before in my life, and is grateful when Sarutobi begins to explain it. He says,

Forming the Tiger seal to mold your chakra, release it into the air to create several flames that look like horned demon heads that float and attack in a swarm of flame ghosts.

He then continues;

Oh and I see my water jutsu earlier muddied our training grounds so...

He claps his hands, places a finger to the mud and makes the mud turn back into earth like magic. Well now there was a place for me to sit. I take a seat on the ground and Sarutobi tosses yet another scroll at me. Unravelling it, pen ready, I proceed to fill out the familiar template.

( Katon: Onidōrō ) - Fire Release: Demon Lantern

Strong points
  • An obvious strong point for this technique is the fact that it only requires one hand seal, meaning the technique is quicker to perform.
  • Another strong point for this technique is because it attacks an opponent in a swarm. This makes it harder for an opponent to counter as confusion can be created. For instance, they all look the same, so it can be hard to tell how many ghosts there are. Also by attacking in a swarm, more damage is inflicted as they can encircle your opponent, burning all over their body, or at least more than one area of the body.
  • I think I can manipulate the movement of the ghosts to go where I please.
  • The Ghosts are transparent which is another advantage. Or well in this case, you can see through the ghost flames. This transparency allows you to maintain vision of your opponent and know of his whereabouts. It can also allow you to see how your opponent intends on countering the technique and can also result in you able to anticipate incoming attacks as you see them coming towards you.
-For instance if he escapes underground to avoid the technique, you'll know about it. If he sends a technique your way to deal with the flames that then continues towards you, you'll know about it and have time to counter the incoming technique.
  • Another strong point is it can compromise multiple targets at once.
  • The fact that the technique is short - mid range is another advantage, as it is not limited to only one range.
Weak points
  • This technique seems easily counterable if an opponent uses a large scale water jutsu. They'd be extinguished rather easily.
  • There appears to be a time where there is a delay, as due to the fact the ghosts attack in a 'swarm' not one after the other, they all float around waiting for all of the ghosts to be produced, before attacking. This allows the opponent time to anticipate the technique and begin to counter the technique or strategize against you.
  • Because the ghosts are transparent, this can also work against you if you wanted to follow up with a certain technique that can clearly be seen coming towards them.
Combinations-strategies:
Due to the techniques transparency, I'd probably use a technique that was not so noticeable by just looking at me.
For instance I could just channel my doton chakra into the ground (he wouldn't notice unless a sensory or dojutsu wielder and because he is preoccupied by the oncoming ghosts) and cause him to be impaled by this technique;

(Doton: Ganchūsō) - Earth Release: Stone Spikes
Rank: C
Type: Attack
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra Cost: 15
Damage Points: 30
Description: This technique lets the user create a few rock pillars that will protrude from the ground to skew the target. The rock pillars will even pass through obstacles to reach their target

Therefore effectively using the ghost technique as a decoy or using the stone spikes as a method of immobilizing the opponent for the ghosts to finish him off.

You could also use the following techniques;

(Raiton: Ikazuchi Hakai) – Lightning Release: Lightning Destruction
Rank: A
Type: Attack
Range: Short – Mid
Chakra cost: 30
Damage points: 60
Description: After performing a small sequence of hand seals the user will place their hand on the ground converting their chakra in to lightning. The user then sends an enormous bolt of electricity that cuts through the ground in the direction of the enemy. The shape of the bolt is a triangular with the base in the direction of the user and the tip headed towards the target. It causes devastating destruction on its way and generates enough heat and power to destroy whatever it comes into contact with.

(Raiton: Chidori Nagashi) - Lightning Release: One Thousand Birds Current
Rank: A
Type: Offense/Defence
Range: Short - Mid
Chakra Cost: 30
Damage Points: 60
Description: This jutsu allows the user to generate non-focused electrically charged chakra from their body. Because the electricity isn't focused, it doesn't kill on contact, instead it only paralyzes. The lightning can be channelled through metal objects, as well as spread out into the air or ground.

By using one of the raiton techniques above ( following the release of the ghost technique) or a similar one, you severely limit your opponents options.

- Because of the Ghost technique is a fire release technique, you can assume that your opponent will use a water defense against it due to its elemental superiority. Following this fire technique up with a raiton technique allows the chance that damage will still be inflicted. For instance, if the opponent opts for a water counter there is a possibility that you can still inflict serious damage on your opponent despite them countering your initial technique, as Water conducts electricity, so your opponent could potentially become severely electrocuted.
-A Raiton technique as so would also cut through some earth defenses or earth in general (i.e. opponent escaped underground) and electrocute your opponent if your opponent opted for something like that to defend/counter against the ghosts. So like above, damage could still be inflicted upon your opponent even if the initial ghost attack was countered.
- As you said Sensei, it would be foolish to counter with wind, so Raiton follow up would be good to use as its elemental superior is the fire's elemental inferior, so you can expect that they won't use a wind counter which is good.

Ways to counter:

To counter this technique on its own, I would use:

(Suiton: Hahonryuu) - Water Style: Destruction Torrent
Rank: B
Type: Offense/Defence
Range: Short/Mid
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage Points: 40
Description: After waving the Boar → Dog → Ram hand seals, a water vortex created in the palm of the user’s hand that can then be blasted forward creating a spiraling wall of water which can then be used to attack or defend.
Note: No water source required

"Done Sensei"

I roll up the scroll and toss it to Sarutobi before standing up and taking a stretch.

I pace mid range from and leave him to mark, gathering my chakra in my stomach as I do so. Once in a good spot, I turn on my heel and face Sarutobi's direction, finished marking as usual.

I Know full well that this technique would be only too easy for Sarutobi to counter given the fact that he has a natural affinity in water; but I decide I'd still attack him nonetheless.

I perform the tiger hand seal,

At the same time I mold my chakra that had gathered in my stomach into katon chakra and release it from my body, using nature manipulation and shape manipulation to ensure that upon its release, this chakra had been converted into small bodies of transparent flames, shaped carefully in the shape of a horned demons head. When several have been created and hover around me, I send them flying towards Sensei in a swarm.

Hmm, lightning always makes for a good combination with fire. You'll need to clarify why you'd use Chidori Current however, it is only damaging in short range, only when channeled into the ground would it spread it mid range.

As the student starts forming the swarm of flame demons around him Sarutobi holds the scroll in his left hand and molds water chakra into his right, forming a orb of water in his palm as the flames roared towards him, sarutobi then casually swings his hand horizontally, releasing the orb outwards as spears of water that match each of the flame heads putting them out and creating a wide spread steam cloud around sarutobi as the steam continues forward, harmlessly passing by the teacher who throws his student the next scroll before continuing the next technique.

( Suiton: Shizuka Yari ) - Water Release: Droplet Spear
Rank: B
Type: Offensive
Range: Short - Mid
Chakra cost: 20
Damage points: 40
Description: Using their skills with water release, the user creates an orb of water in their hand which they can then release in the form of multiple spearing streams, that they can use to attack their enemy from multiple directions or in spirals.

Next is the Flame Pillar Technique. Very quick and hard to defend from normally as it doesn't require hand seals or advanced shape manipulation. Mold a large amount of fire chakra to your chest and exhale it in a stream aimed at the enemy's feet, then shape the flames upwards into a pillar 3 meters tall, burning them badly. I've only had to use this technique in battle once, the results were rather...stomach turning.

( Katon: Honoo no Hashira Jutsu ) - Fire Release: Flame Pillar Technique
Rank: B
Type: Offensive
Range: Short - Mid
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage points: 40
Description: The user will manipulate their chakra into their chest and then they will release from their mouth a quick burst of flame towards their opponents feet which then erupts into a large pillar of flame reaching 3 meters tall and inflicting damage to the target.

Oh glad you do.. because they take so dam long to write xD

. . .

I hear Sensei say as I form the swarm of ghosts. I'd remember his advice. As my swarm of ghosts travel towards Hiruzen, again he impresses me as with ease, he extinguishes the flames with a wave his hand which releases a orb of water from it which turns into multiple water spears upon its release. Each stream plummets my little ghosts creating little bursts of steam as each is extinguished. Casually, Sarutobi throws me yet another scroll.

Sarutobi goes on to introduce the next technique.

Sounded fun. I badly wanted to learn more about this battle he mentioned. I was into my battle history. However, I refrain from asking and take out my pen to fill out the scroll. The ink was running out..

( Katon: Honoo no Hashira Jutsu ) - Fire Release: Flame Pillar Technique

Strong points
  • To begin with, an obvious advantage is it requires no hand seals making it quicker to perform.
  • Another obvious advantage is it is short -mid range. It is not limited to only one range.
  • Even in the description it says it moves quite quickly. This makes it harder to counter/avoid/anticipate.
  • The fact that it erupts into a pillar of flame is an advantage as it can catch your opponent off guard. It looks like a regular flame coming towards your opponent, so they may underestimate the technique and use an unsuitable counter or just in general be ill prepared to deal with the fact that it erupts into a 3m tall pillar.
  • The pillar is 3 meters tall. That is taller than your average human so defo should burn your opponent good if it comes into contact with it. It could even compromise some smaller summons I guess.
  • Aiming at your opponents feet could defo cause your opponent to react by going up. This is good as they think they are out of harms way..when really.. they could be within the pillars range..
  • Quite a wide pillar I imagine. So even if it landed just in front of your opponent, this could really take them off guard as they think they are safe.. when it erupts and well gets them.
Weak Points
  • The technique can be extinguished before it erupts into a giant pillar of flame, which is really the bulk of the technique.
  • It seems suspicious aiming so low. So an opponent would probably prevent the technique getting very far.
  • The large pillar will block your view of your opponent, so you cannot tell whether they have escaped or been compromised.
Combinations-strategies:
-I think I'd follow up with a lightning technique that traveled through the ground. This effectively will prevent my opponent escaping underground and should cause things to go wrong if he were to counter the fire with a water technique, I'd electrocute him. If he used an earth wall of some sort, my lightning would travel under it and get him or even break through it.
*Question: How would I justify why I used these techniques as follow ups as you told me to? (o_O )
-I could even use an earth technique as a follow up that caused the ground to violently shake. This would crush him if he were to escape underground, crumble some earth defenses (like a wall) and maybe crumble a pillar or two if he decided to escape by going up out of harms way on an earth pillar.
-If I was desperate, I could aim this technique behind me (enough so I wouldn't be caught in it) and use it as a substitution for a flash bomb if I had none on me and be able to successfully increase the range of my shadow so I could use shadow techniques of my clan more successfully. For instance,

(Kageasshou) - Shadow Giant Hand Crush
Rank: B
Type: Supplementary/Attack
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra cost: 20
Damage Points: 40
Description: Using Flash bombs to extend your shadow your form it into a giant hand that crushes the opponent.

Ways to counter:
To counter, I'd use:

(Suiton: Suishōha) - Water Style: Water Shock Wave
Rank: C
Type: Offensive, Supplementary
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra Cost: 15
Damage Points: 30
Descripton: This technique allows the user after claping their hands together to make a spiralling vortex of water out of knowhere. The vortex then proceeds to explode from the top in the form of a wave. The user can also control the direction the wave goes with hand movements.

"Okay Sensei, I'm done.. and just made it too.."
I say holding the pen that no longer worked between finger and thumb. I toss Sarutobi the scroll and pace to mid range from him; as usual leaving him to mark.

As I do so, I gather a large amount of chakra in my chest. When I am about mid range from Hiruzen I face him, not even surprised that he is rolling up the scroll.. finished marking so quickly. I mold this chakra into katon chakra then proceed to exhale it from my mouth. I use nature manipulation to convert this chakra into a stream of fire which I aim towards Sarutobi's feet. Hurtling close enough, I then use shape manipulation to manipulate this fire to erupt into a flaming pillar, 3m tall which seemingly engulfs Hiruzen..

Although I knew full well that Sarutobi had slipped away from my pillars grasp. I look around, half expecting Sarutobi to pop up somewhere. I run to my bag to ensure he doesn't conveniently pop up right next to it and steal my cake.

Umm mind asking that question over? I'm not sure what you're asking me .-.
_____________

( Katon: Kaen Senpū ) - Fire Release: Flame Whirlwind
Rank: B
Type: Offensive
Range: Short - Mid
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage points: 40
Description: After performing the required four handseals Monkey → Bird → Dog → Ram, fire erupts around the user's body and then launches towards the target in a spiraling-manner or expands engulfing the surrounding area in a tornado of flames. Anything nearby is incinerated as the flames erupt upwards.
Would be a great technique if it didn't had no hand seals ;_; its still awesome though. So basically just perform the required hand seals, and release your fire chakra in an omnidirectional burst of flames. This will make a spiraling fire tornado form from your body, and goes outwards.

Continue to use the same template, and reply the same way you did with professor sarutobi. I enjoyed reading it ^_^

Instead of Sarutobi popping out, a completely new person appears. The shinobi doesn't introduce himself rather clears his throat and tosses a scroll at me. I unravel it and see a familiar template. I'm a bit confused as the man clears his throat and speaks.

"Okay this guy must be Sarutobi in disguise or the mans Senpai" I think to myself. I decide whoever it was, I better do as I was told.

I unravel the scroll, and pull out my pen and begin to fill it out.

( Katon: Kaen Senpū ) - Fire Release: Flame Whirlwind

Strong points

  • The fact that it launches in a spiraling manner or expands into multiple tornadoes makes it an unpredictable technique and harder to dodge.
  • Because it erupts around the users body first this could make it effective in defending against someone who was coming in quite close to the user before moving on to attack opponents further away. Basically a strong point is it has the potential to attack/defend against multiple opponents at once.
  • Can impact a large surrounding area, changing the characteristics of the battle field.
  • Should be able to successfully damage large summons or similar large things.
  • Not limited to one range, but is able to go short and mid range.
  • There is quite a degree of control. You can either pinpoint a target or effect a large area with no specific target.
Weak points

  • Requires four hand seals.
  • Can accidentally injure your own comrade or team because it effects an area so close to you.
Combinations-strategies:
- I'm actually unsure what you would combine this with. Please inspire my rusty mind !

Ways to counter:
- To counter this technique I'd use a large water technique such as:

Maybe:

The wall can also be formed from a pre-existing water source.

or maybe:

( Suiton: Suijinchū ) - Water Release: Water Encampment Pillar
Rank: S
Type: Defence
Range: Short - Mid
Chakra cost: 40
Damage points: N/A
Description: A defensive technique where chakra kneaded inside the body is converted into water, and then expelled from the mouth in a dense torrent, effectively creating a near instantaneous barricade that can be used to intercept incoming attacks.

"Okay Sensei/Senpai, whoever you are, I am done. Not my best performance, I need a bit of help but I threw a blank. I got a little rusty."

I chuck the scroll to the man and pace mid range from him as he marks it. As I do so I gather up my chakra in my chest. I mold my chakra in Katon chakra as I perform the 4 required hand seals.

Once completed the sequence, I turn on my heel and face the man who just finished reading by the looks of it. Wasn't as fast a reader as Sarutobi it appeared, so it mustn't be him !

I release the katon chakra from my body , upon its release using nature manipulation to convert it into unidirectional bursts of flames which erupt from around me. Spiraling, I launch the flames at Senpai, curious to see his ability.

Don't really got to use it in a combination. Unless its a jutsu like a paralyzing genjutsu.

*Fire phases through me* Oi! oi! z.z

+++++++

( Katon: Benijigumo ) - Fire Release: Crimson Earth Spider
Rank: B
Type: Offensive
Range: Short - Mid
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage points: 40
Description: After performing five handseals Tiger → Horse → Rat → Dog → Tiger , the user spews out fire that both surrounds the enemy and then transforms into a spider that attacks the enemy. This technique effectively traps and attacks an opponent at the same time, and can be used to force them into another attack.
Ok so this might be a little confusing. But basically with this jutsu, you make the hand seals and release fire chakra from your mouth, to spread across the ground around your opponent. Then seconds after the fire is spread, from it a spider will form and rush at your opponent. Dashing it's body on the enemy.

Here is a picture in case you don't get it.

( Katon: Hi no Iki ) - Fire Release: Fire Breath
Rank: B
Type: Offensive
Range: Short - Mid
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage points: 40
Description: The user breathes a powerful stream of fire from their mouth at their target.
._.
Release a stream of fire from your mouth, no hand seals needed and it reaches mid range. Easy xD
