Having been on this for about 2 years, I know enough lmfao. Genjutsu is the art of casting illusions on a target or several. Chakra effects the targets senses causing them to experience various visuals and or sensations having to do with any of the five senses. Breaking a genjutsu requires one to essentially reset their disturbed chakra system by adding a large fluctuation of chakra, this can be done internally or externally. Pain is also a viable method, and their are special abilities capable of making it easier to break such as the infamous sharingan. Layering gen can be done but its important to note once the highest ranked illusion is broken the lower one will be as well. Basic summary really.

Good Good

So like you said, Genjutsu is the style of ninja combat that relies on illusions. It can affect either the user or the opponent. We'll discuss breaking Genjutsu later, since that one needs to be clarified more (very important). For now, we're going to move straight onto the actual illusions themselves.

First off, I'm going to break down the categories of Genjutsu. Those are as follows: Paralysis & Restriction | Deceptive | Concealment | Hypnotic

With each category, you'll be asked to group each respective Genjutsu Technique into the correct category. We'll start off with Paralysis & Restriction Genjutsu. While most Genjutsu obviously already deceive your senses, Genjutsu that fall under the Paralysis & Restriction Genjutsu are not as subtle. In fact, they're pretty blatant at what they do. The main sense that is affected is the sense of touch, and it's used to bind the targets' movements or actions.

In these types of Gen, while you may know that you're in a Genjutsu, the part that understands what a genjutsu is, is not what's being effected most of the time. What's generally being fooled is the part of the brain that controls your voluntary motor movements and even involuntary ones, like breathing. However, even in severe cases where one feels as though they are suffocating their body will not simulate such extreme adverse reactions that would literally cause you to cease breathing. So to sum it up, if an illusion is affecting motor movements, it's going to fall under Paralysis and Restriction. The way these generally happen are working tandem with your vision. Common illusions can be roots sprouting from the ground that wrap around your arms and legs; you feel specific tightening pressure around the areas of the arms and legs that were targeted in the genjutsu. Snakes that constrict around your body as if squeezing the life out of you and making it hard for you to breath; you will feel a tight pressure around your entire and your breath may even become shallow as a result, etc.

So say you had an illusion designed to bind your arms and legs with roots int he ground. Regardless of whether you knew they were illusions or not, you would be unable to avoid them in reality since your motor movements would be stunted by the effects of the Genjutsu. Your body wouldn't act as you'd would want it to, so you wouldn't be able to avoid them. Granted, the fact that you would notice your own body failing to follow what you'd want it to do before getting trapped would be a good signal of realizing one was inside a Genjutsu.

With all that said, if you have any questions, feel free to ask. If not, I want you to look through the canon Genjutsu list and post all the Paralysis and Restriction Gens you could find. Also, since this is Gen training, also be sure to post the "tell" for determining you're inside of a Genjutsu.

( Genjutsu: Shibari ) - Illusionary Arts: Binding

Non-genjutsu specialists can only cast only use the C-ranked version of this technique and use it on up to two others making the hold D-rank for each individual person. Users with genjutsu as their secondary specialty can use the B-ranked version of this technique and cast the jutsu on a maximum of three people. Users with genjutsu as their primary specialty can use the A-ranked version of this technique and cast the technique on a maximum of three people. Members who specialize in genjutsu are immune to this technique being placed upon them on others with a lower skill level than them; i.e a users with a secondary specialty can't use this on a primary specialist, only those of equivalent rank or lower can be caught with this technique.

In reality, the opponent is immobilized by the illusion, allowing the user to strike.

Chakra Cost: 20
Damage points: 40 due to stress on the mind

Note: Paralysis lasts one turn.

( Nehan Shōja no Jutsu ) - Temple of Nirvana Technique
Rank: A

Range: Short-Mid
Chakra Cost: 30
Damage Points: N/A
Description: The user makes one handseal, placing all the targets in the area under an illusion where feathers appear to fall from the sky. This slowly puts the opponents to sleep after one turn.

No questions, The "tell" of a gen is basically the indication that one is under a gen. Different gens have different tells and many things can be considered a tell such as a flash of light before the effects of an illusion occur. Regardless one can use his other senses to realize he is under a gen, seeing lava but not feeling heat and ect.

Pretty good, but a couple of things.

Your description of the tell is fine, but I was looking to actually state what the general tell of Paralysis Genjutsu are. In general, an shared trait that you should notice is your lack of ability to utilize your voluntary motor movements. If you notice you can't move a certain body part the way you want, that should be the initial identifier. Upon realizing that, you should use your other senses to determine why is it that you can't move your certain body part.

Now, regarding the Genjutsu list for Paralysis and Restriction, you missed one genjutsu that is considered Paralysis and Restriction. That missing one is this

(Magen: Chō Shinka) — Demonic Illusion: Butterfly Evolution
Type: Supplementary/Offensive
Rank: A
Range: Short - Mid
Chakra Cost: 30
Damage Points: 60
Description: The user makes one handseal, placing the opponent in a genjutsu. The user then tosses a large number of explosive tags at the opponent. To the opponent, it looks as if they are countless butterflies. The opponent then believes they are sinking into the ground, in reality making them immobilized; this allows the user to place one final exploding tag on their forehead before detonating all the tags simultaneously
Also, two of the Genjutsu that you posted is an incorrectly placed. While we're moving on, I want you to identify which ones you put are the incorrect one.

The next group we will be working on is Deception Genjutsu. Now the concept seems redundant since all genjutsu possess the nature of deceiving your opponent. However, the techniques in this section don't possess any of the paralysis, concealing, or hypnotic effects of the other methods. Specifically these techniques are designed to deceive your opponent regarding events and that would otherwise go unnoticed as genjutsu but would provoke certain actions. Though the techniques in this method tend to be the most inconspicuous in nature. They attempt to be harder to figure out than other techniques. I'm currently working on a hybrid technique that utilizes movement restriction and discrete occurrences.

The points I like to emphasize with this method and generally with non-hybrid techniques in such a method is the fact that, what I label as deceptive, generally encompasses a factor of difficulty in terms of understanding that one is trapped inside the illusion. That may not be the case for some of the canon techniques. Most custom techniques try incorporate some form of deception to make their technique hard to break out of. Not to mention with right descriptive skills you can add features that would ordinarily make jutsu virtually impossible to "realize" are genjutsu.

Tree Binding Death could be just as hard to figure out if used by a Wood user if used properly, despite not actually being considered a Deceptive Genjutsu. Flower Head death utilizes aspects of paralysis and deception as the effects of the explosion on the target remain for as long as they are within the genjutsu.

After you post the techniques that were incorrect, you can move on to asking any questions you have about Deceptive Gen

I don't know which techniques were incorrect, enlighten me please Citrus. Seriously if you could explain that would be dope.

( Magen: Kokoni Arazu no Jutsu ) - Demonic Illusion: False Surroundings Technique
Rank: D
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra Cost: 10 (+5 if you use it double)
Damage Points: N/A
Description: The user casts an illusion over an area that allows him to manipulate the way an area looks to fool an opponent. He can only change the way the terrain looks, and not any other feature.

( Kasumi Jūsha no Jutsu ) - Mist Servant Technique
Rank: D
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra Cost:10
Damage Points: N/A
Description: This illusion creates numerous illusionary clones of the user that appear to emerge from the ground, trees, rocks, etc. If these clones are attacked, they appear to multiply. The user can co-ordinate his attacks with the clones to make it appear as if they are real.

(Magen: Nijū Kokoni Arazu no Jutsu) Demonic Illusion: Double False Surroundings Technique
Type: Supplmentary
Rank: B-Rank
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra: 20
Damage: N/A
Description:
The user will do a sequence of 3 handseals, putting his opponents under a double layered Genjutsu. The user is able to create false surroundings to fool his targets, much like the simpler version of the technique. However, the illusion is in fact layered. If the opponent manages to release the first one, he will then feel the effects of the second illusion. If, for example, the first illusion is that of a desert and the second that of a forest, upon releasing the first one, the opponent will see the desert fade away while the forest appears around him, making him think he dispelled the illusion while in essence he is still caught in one. Each illusion is equivalent to C-Rank and both are casted at the same time. While normal releases will release only one illusion at a time, a strong enough pain or an external source of chakra can dispel both at the same time.

( Genjutsu: Iwa Kōka Genjutsu ) - Illusionary Arts: Rockslide Genjutsu
Type: Offensive
Rank: B
Range: Short - Mid
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage: N/A
Description: This is a technique that can be cast on multiple targets. The user creates an illusion where their target(s) experience several explosions going off near and around them. The ground around and beneath the target(s) will begin to collapse and cause panic and mental damage from the perceived reality of the explosions. The technique, however, is weak when cast upon multiple targets as it only takes one individual to release the technique for large groups of people.
Note: This technique can be cast on multiple targets but when done it only takes one person to release the technique for all parties involved with genjutsu kai. However all members need to be within short range distance.

( Kori Shinchū no Jutsu ) - Sly Mind Affect Technique
Rank: C
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra Cost:15
Damage Points: N/A
Description: The user casts an illusion on the opponent that makes them believe they are travelling in a straight line, when instead they are moving in circles. This is only effective on moving opponents. If the opponent travels in the circle for hours, they will be exhausted.

( Genjutsu: Jigoku Gouka ) - Illusion Technique: Hell Fire
Rank: C
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra Cost: 15
Damage Points:N/A
Description: The user casts an illusion where the opponent sees a huge ball of fire descending from the sky and enveloping its target.

( Genjutsu: Kasumi no Jutsu ) - Illusion Technique: Mist Technique
Rank: C
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra cost: 15
Damage points: N/A
Description: The user creates an illusionary clone that charges towards the enemy, jumps, then explodes in a cloud of cherry blossom petals which results in confusing the opponent and obscuring their vision, leaving them open for attack.
