Chapter One: The Beginning

The year is 5402 Evelin and the sun is rising on the city of Charidol. The United Federation of Charidol has long been at war against the Kingdom of Trinexus but for the past few years peace has been a pleasant surprise. However.....the people of Charidol would soon learn, peace is never eternal.

*Sun rises as the day begins in Charidol*

*People begin their day as they would normally, birds are heard chirping and church bells ring in the distance*

*A child looks up to the sky to see the launch of the CSR Charidol, a magnificent inter-stellar ship carrying many high ranking government officials*

*As the child watches the ship blast off with excitement, she sees a flash in the sky*

*The CSR Charidol erupts in a ball of fire*

*Debris begins to rain down on the city, large chunks wreak havoc like a hail of meteors.*

Screams are heard throughout the streets as citizens run for cover. The girl is frozen with fear as he continues to stare up at the fiery sky. They then appear.

10 Trinexus battle cruisers descend upon the city, leveling buildings and causing destruction.

A beam strikes the building to the left of the girl and the top two floors are blown off and begin dropping towards the child.

Man: "Watch out!"

*A man runs towards the girl, grabs her and dives out of way. Barely escaping being crushed by the falling debris*

Man: "Hey where are your parents? You need to get to a shelter now, its not safe."

Girl: "uh....um.....ok......"

*The girl runs off to find shelter"

Man: "What the hell is going on....I need to get home and make sure my mom is okay."

__________________________________________________ _____________

Man: "Mom, I'm here, where are you?"
Mother: "Oh my God are you ok Kougi?. Let me see you."

Kouji: "Yes mother, I'm fine, are you hurt?"

Mother: "No, I'm.....I'm okay. Its horrible Kouji, they're destroying the entire city!"

Kouji: "I know Mom, but we have to hurry and get into one of the shelters! Its not sa....."

*An explosion rocks the house!*

Chapter 2: My Pain and Pledge

Kouji was thrown into the kitchen as an explosion ripped through his apartment. He stood up disoriented by the blast and his ears were ringing.

"...ugh.......mom?....Mom? Mother are you alright?"

The only sound that met his plea was the sound of the fire crackling.

"Mother where are you?! Are you ok?!"

Kouji walked out of the kitchen into the living room were he was talking to his mom. Kouji saw an arm protruding out from behind the over turned couch. His body went numb. His ears went deaf. All around him chaos was roaring. Sirens were blasting. Explosions were echoing. Citizens were screaming. There was crying throughout the streets. But Kouji didn't hear any of that. His heart had stopped beating. He slowly stepped forward.

"Mo........mom?"

Even though he couldn't feel his legs he moved forward. He got to the end of the couch and saw the lifeless, bloody body of his mother.

".....no.....no....god no....please not her....." Kouji thought to himself.

Kouji began getting dizzy. He couldn't breathe. Tears were pouring down his face. With war all around him, he had fallen into his own personal hell. He dropped down beside his mom and brought her limp body into his arms.

"Please mom wake up!" He cried as tears ran down his face.

"Aaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh!" He let out a terrifying scream that was filled with pain.

Everything began to go black around him. He collapsed beside his mother and everything went dark.

__________________________________________________ _______________

Kouji slowly came into consciousness. He opened his eyes to see a bright light over top of him. Screams and cries were still going all around him. People were running back and forth. Doctors, soaked in blood were working to save as many people as they could. Kouji looked to his left and saw an elderly man who had had his leg crushed by debris.

Doctor: "Someone get over here and help me with this one, were losing him!"

Nurse: "We need a surgeon over here, we're going to have to amputate!"

Kouji was confused. Where am I? How did I get here? He asked himself. It came shooting back. The chaos. The explosion. And then his mother. Kouji shot up, the tears were back. He scanned the other beds with wide wild eyes in hope that his mother would be there. His heart began to race.

Girl: "You're up...."

Kouji looked to his right and saw a girl sitting beside him. She was a young nurse around the age of 18. She had long blue hair that was tied up into bundle behind her head. She had a very soft face with large blue dough eyes. Beautiful would be an understatement. In this hell-hole she was a lone angel. Blood was splattered on her uniform.

Kouji: Where's my mom!?

Nurse: "............." she looked down and to her left with a grim look on her face. "I'm sorry...."

Kouji sank into his bed. He just stared at the ceiling unable to move. He sat there for what seemed like and eternity. Finally he jumped up.

Kouji: "I don't believe you."

Nurse: "....What?"

Kouji: "I don't believe you! SHE ISN'T DEAD!"

Kouji's eyes were fiery yet filled with tears and hatred. The nurse didn't know how to respond, she was scared.

Nurse: "Please lay down, you have to rest......you've been through a lot.......we all have."

Kouji: "No! I have to go back, I have to help her!"

Kouji turned and began to walk away.

Nurse: "Shes dead! They're all dead! Everyone is dead!"

The nurses eyes returned the look she received from Kouji. She began to weep.

Nurse: "I lost my family too ....but....there's nothing I can do for them now! We have to help those who survived!"

Kouji was stunned. The nurse's outburst made him stop dead in his tracks. He turned around and walked towards the nurse. His eyes were filled with tears as he threw his arms around the nurses neck, and his head fell on her shoulder. The nurse began to cry as well and wrapped her arms around Kouji's body and gripped him tightly. They stood there in each others arms, letting out all the pain they had.

Kouji thought to himself, "What can I do....I'm not a doctor.....I can't help anyone!" His heart began to fill with anger. "Mother...." Kouji then knew what he had to do.

"Mother I pledge....I will avenge you....and I will put an end to this endless cycle of death....and I will make sure nobody has to feel this pain again."

Chapter Three: Departure

Kouji sat in the bad as he waited for the nurse to return with some food. The hospital had calmed down quite a bit to a relatively low murmur. There was still the occasional scream, and the occasional doctor running down the hall. But it seemed like the worst of the attack was over. Kouji felt uneasy. The only people who knew what it was like outside were the doctors and they weren't telling anyone, but they were advising the patients to remain inside.

Nurse: Here Kouji, I brought you your lunch.

Kouji: Thanks

*pokes the food with his fork*

Kouji: Ummm.....what is this?

Nurse: Oh its just some good old hospital food. Lots of protein and vitamins. Its not very tasty, but its very good for you and will help you recover.

Kouji: Ya know, you've been so nice to me, but I don't even know your name.

Nurse: Oh, how rude of me, my name is Muzai.

Kouji: Muzai eh? Thats a beautiful name.

Muzai: *giggle* thanks.

Kouji: Muzai....I need to go. I need to get out of here and do something. This can't keep happening!

Muzai: If you're going......I'm going too.

Kouji: Huh? But the hospital needs you. They're already understaffed as it is. I need to go, I need to avenge my moth-

Muzai clenched her fists gripping her uniform tightly.

Muzai: What about my family? Who is to avenge them....? I know I can't do much....but I need to do something as well. If you are going, then I am going with you.

Muzai's grim face suddenly was filled with light. A smile crept into her lips.

Muzai: Plus, someones got to make sure you're alright, and seeing as how I have medical experience, I'm the perfect person.

Kouji was taken back by Muzai's sudden show of strength and resolve.

Kouji: Fine, it doesn't seem like there's anything I can do to change your mind. Lets go.

Kouji and Muzai got up, and took their first step in a journey that would take them into places they couldn't even imagine.

__________________________________________________ ______________

They stepped outside the hospital and were stunned. The city was destroyed. There wasn't a building in sight that wasn't damaged or leveled. The street was filled with charred vehicles and dead bodies. Kouji and Muzai began to walk down the street.

Muzai: Where are we going Kouji?

Kouji: I had a friend, his name was Bouken. His father had a ship and I was going to ask him if we could use it.

Muzai: I see.

Kouji and Muzai came to his friends house. The roof was blown clear off and the windows were shattered.

Muzai: How do you know hes even here?

Kouji: His father built a bomb shelter in their basement just for this reason. I'm sure they went down there.

Kouji and Muzai walked into the house and walked over to the trap door leading down into the bomb shelter. Kouji knocked on the door and waited for an answer. Nothing came. He knocked again, and again no answer.

Kouji: Shit....where is he? Did he not make it in?

Kouji and Muzai began to walk away. As they started to walk, the door clicked and it opened slightly. Kouji turned around and saw a pair of beady eyes staring at him from the shadow of the door.

???: KOUJI!!!!! YOU'RE ALIVE! OH THANK GOD!!!

The door shot open and the man came running at Kouji. He jumped and wrapped his arms and legs around Kouji, taking them both to the ground. He squeezed Kouji so hard it seemed as though Kouji's eyes were going to pop out.

Kouji: AAAAAAAAAAAAAA! Damnit Bouken! You're going to kill me!

They both stood up. Bouken was a full head taller than Kouji. He was also much thicker, not with fat, but muscle. He was huge. He had short orange hair that was gelled up into spikes. He was wearing a white wife beater that had multiple oil stains on it. His jeans were ripped in some places, and dirty in the others. On his feet were light brown boots that were worn down from lots of hard labor. He came off as somewhat of a goon.

Bouken: Oh I'm sorry Kouji! I'm just so happy to see you! What happaned? What's it like out there?

Kouji stood in silence. The moment of excitement and happiness of seeing a friend was turned into sadness.

Kouji: I went.....to help my mom......and.......she was killed.

Bouken: Oh my god.....Kouji.....I'm so sorry.

Kouji: ....thanks.....but I'm not the only victim....the whole city.....its destroyed. Thousands, if not millions are dead.

Bouken: .....thats horrible.....how could they do something like this?! After years of peace, why?!

Kouji: We don't know.....but Bouken, were going to put and end to this. This cycle must be broken, so others don't have to deal with what so many have.....thats actually why were here. We need the ship.

Bouken: ........BWAHAHAHAHAHA!......good one Kouji. You just wanted to see me, I know. It happens a lot. But I have to admit......it usually happens with girls. But don't worry kouji, you're secrets safe with me.

Kouji: No....really Bouken. We're going to stop this, and we need your ship.

Bouken's playful smile went down. He seemed confused and shocked at the same time.

Bouken: You're serious aren't you? How in the hell do you expect to put an end to this? Our entire military has time and time again failed to destroy the Trinexus, and yet you and this girl think you can stop them? That sounds fucking ridicu-.

Kouji: Shut up! You think I haven't thought about how fucking ridiculous this sounds? Of course I have! But.......but its something I have to try! They took my mother away from me, someone has to do something! So just shut up....please....

Bouken: I'm....sorry Kouji.....but you don't even know how to fly my ship. There's no reason in even giving it to you. Its just not going to happen, you're going to have to try someone else.

Kouji: ........fine, just know that at least were trying! Instead of sitting and hiding, waiting for the war to take someone else dear to us, we're going to try. You remember that when you're sitting in your shelter.

Kouji and Muzai turned and walked away.

Kouji: Damnit! Now what are we going to do!?

Muzai: I don't know Kouji, maybe this is a little crazy. Maybe Bouken was right.

Kouji: No Muzai! He was wrong. If people sit around and do nothing, nothing will ever happen. The same thing will continue on its path, and the cycle will never be broken. If that happens, millions of people will keep dying. We have to try. Please, please help me try!

Muzai: Okay, I will. But now what? Where are we going to go?

Kouji: I don't know.....maybe we could try the airport.

Muzai: Okay, lets go!

Kouji and Muzai began to walk to the airport. As they walked they saw how truly devastated the city was. Downtown was burnt to a crisp. Not a single building was left standing. It was a horrible sight.

__________________________________________________ ______________

As they walked, day turned to night. Trinexus scouts were constantly hovering overhead, looking for survivors. They were trying to exterminate everyone in the city. Kouji and Muzai stayed out of their sights by moving through the city ruins.

Kouji: The airport is right up there, lets go!

Muzai: Alright lets go.

They both left their cover and headed for the closest hanger. As the made a dash for the hanger, a spot light exposed them. They stopped dead in their tracks, scared stiff. Unable to move or speak. Kouji's heart stopped. "Oh no..."
he thought. "No it can't end here....we haven't even started..." A sudden burst of courage grabbed Kouji and he made his move. He grabbed Muzai's hand and began to run towards the hanger. The scout ship opened fire with its machine guns. The bullets created a trail following the two.

Kouji: Muzai! Take cover in the hangar. I'm going to try and make it follow me!

Muzai: But no! I can't leave you, it'll kill you!

Kouji: MUZAI GO! I'LL BE FINE!

Muzai split to the right taking cover in the nearby hangar. Kouji split to the left and ran as fast as he could. The plan worked, the ship followed him. "Good" he thought to himself "At least Muzai will be safe." Just then an explosion erupted behind him, sending him flying. He hit the ground hard and slowly got to his feet. The spotlight was on him in a heartbeat. He now had nowhere to go. This was it.....this was the end..... Kouji closed his eyes and braced himself for death.

Chapter 4: The Great Bouken!
Kouji was out of moves and out of time. He had nowhere to go as the ship's spotlight was on him. Sweat dripped down his face as he braced himself for death. Surprisingly he wasn't scared, he felt almost happy. His first thought was "Here I come mom." Kouji closed his eyes. A huge explosion almost deafened him and a wave of intense heat consumed his body. But he was okay. Kouji opened his eyes and saw the Trinexus ship fall to the ground in a ball of flames.

Bouken: KOUJI!!! Are you alright buddy?

Kouji: ".......Bouken.....you saved me....."

Bouken: "Haha! Of course I did, just like in the 3rd grade when that bully was about to beat your ass! But don't worry, you can thank me later, hop in!"

Kouji jumped into the ship

Kouji: Bouken, Muzai is right over there in the hangar. We have to pick her up.

Bouken's ship glided over to the hangar and opened the doors for Muzai. The ship was incredible. The outside was painted black with a massive white dragon painted over the entire ship. It was incredibly fast and had all custom parts. Bouken often bragged it was the fastest ship in all of Charidol. But the sleek and fast appearance is misleading to its power. The ship was outfitted with some of the newest weapons on the market, making it a force to be reckoned with.

Bouken: "Hop on in sweet cheeks, make yourself at home."

Muzai: "You know I have a name."

Bouken: "Ya, sweet cheeks is a good name too."

Muzai hopped in the ship and drove her fist right into the side of Bouken's head.

Muzai: "My name is Muzai *******."

Bouken: "You're right, Muzai is much better than sweet cheeks, what was I thinking."

Kouji: "Bouken......what are you doing here? I thought you thought this whole idea of mine was idiotic."

Bouken: "Don't get me wrong Kouji. I still think your plan is fuckin ridiculous. But don't think that me coming along is so I can "change the cycle" or any of that bull crap. Why do you think I keep this ship in such great condition?"

Kouji: "Well you are kind of a show off....I figured you just wanted to impress girls."

Bouken: "Haha! Well ya, thats part of the reason, but I'm not as shallow as you think Kouj. Its always been my dream.....to be an explorer. Every night I look up at the stars and imagine visiting distant planets, and of course meeting some sexy alien chicks haha. But I've always been so busy helping my parents run the business, I've never had the chance to try and achieve my dreams. But now.....you've given me the opportunity to do it. If I let this go by, I could never forgive myself."

Kouji: ".....Bouken....."

Bouken: "Now don't get all sentimental on me Kouj, haha, I'm not here to help you with your hippie bullshit. I'm here to make myself famous. I want people telling stories of the GREAT BOUKEN! The best explorer who ever lived! HAHA! So lets get crackin, you guys better hold on tight! This could get a little bumpy!"

Kouji: "Right! Buckle up Muzai. Lets go."

The ship shot up and the force made Kouji and Muzai sink back into their seats. This didn't go unnoticed however. Within seconds Trinexus scouts were swarming the Doragon.

Bouken: "Hang on ladies and gents, this could get a little bumpy."

Bouken handled the ship with precision. They were dodging the scouts' attacks with ease. The entire time Bouken had a smile on his face from ear to ear. He was cackling like a madman. Barrel roles, loops, boosters, he was throwing out everything. It was like he was a child playing with a brand new toy. He was picking off the scouts one by one.

Bouken: "Whoooo! Ya baby! Haha! Take that you son of a bitches! You can't stop the GREAT BOUKEN! HAHA! Ok guys, I'm having a blast, but its about time we got our asses out of here!"

Bouken threw on the boosters to max speed and shot straight up for the sky. In the blink of an eye, the Doragon was in space and the scouts were left in its plasma dust.

Bouken: "Haha! How'd you guys like that?.......Guys?"

Kouji and Muzai were both in the back of the ship in sprawled out on the floor. Eyes rolled into the back of their heads and knocked unconscious.

Bouken: "Aww you pansies......although maybe I did overdo it a little....oh well haha!"

_________________________________________________________________

Kouji: "ugh.....Bouken please don't ever do that again....."

Bouken: "Haha Kouj......you gotta grow some balls! Especially if you're serious about taking on the Trinexus!"

Muzai: "So guys, where are we headed?"

Kouji: "Well first we're going to need to get supplies. Bouken do you know any place we can get some stuff?"

Bouken: "Hell ya, this planet they call the Black Market Planet. Its got everything and anything. Its just over in the next solar system, I'll get right over there."

Kouji: "Okay great, lets go."

The trip was going pretty smooth. Space was really something. Both beautiful and deadly at the same time. Bouken was taking the Doragon close to a huge planet. Maybe a little too close. He must not have been paying attention because he flew straight into an asteroid field. Huge massive boulders were wizzing by the ship left and right. Bouken was having trouble dodging them.

Bouken: "Shit! Buckle up guys!"

Kouji: "Damnit Bouken!"

Muzai: "We're not going to make it!"

Bouken: "Hey! How 'bout you pansies shut the hell up and let me fly! I'm having enough trouble as it is! I don't need to deal with you fools too! Aww shit! Hold on to something!"

Bouken tried to maneuver but it was too much. The ship went crashing through one of the boulders.

Bouken: "Ah shit guys! Were going down! Damnit! The engines are failing. This is going to be a rough landing! Hold on!"

Bouken pulled the ship towards the nearby planet and went through the atmosphere. The ship was falling way too fast. The ship was heading straight for an open field, not a bad spot for a crash landing.

Bouken: "Here we go guys, hold on to your underwear! This is gonna be rough!"

Chapter 5: The Child of Prophecy

The Doragon slammed into the ground and slid for a distance as long as 3 Bristleball fields. If finally came to a stop after it slammed into a very large oak tree. The windows were shattered and the left wing had been ripped clear off. The ship left a scar in the ground that was 10 feet deep. Smoke was seeping out of the ship from almost every crack and the ship was covered head to toe in mud. There was no movement within the ship.

_________________________________________________________________

Kouji woke to the smell of chicken ramen and a cold rag on his forehead. He was confused at first and unaware of where he was or what happened. The memory of the crash came rushing back into his mind and he shot up. A sudden burst of pain ripped through his ribs and he looked down to see his chest covered in bandages. He looked around but Bouken and Muzai were nowhere to be seen. The room he was in was very small and the walls were plain brown wood with a dome ceiling. The ceiling had a small hole in the middle where smoke from a fire in the middle of the room was seeping out. Kouji's head was throbbing and he was having trouble breathing, he had always heard the saying "I feel like I've been through a ship crash" but now he actually knew what it felt like. He collapsed and went back to sleep.

Kouji awoke several hours later to the sound of a woman humming a relaxing melody. He sat up with a cringe and grabbed his ribs.

Woman: "Oh....you're awake, good!'

Kouji: "Ugh.....where am....I?"

Woman: "You're in my humble adobe, heh, I hope you like it."

Kouji: "How did I get here?"

Woman: "We heard the crash, when we got there you and your friends were in pretty bad shape. You're lucky to be alive you know!"

Kouji suddenly remembered Muzai and Bouken and fear overcame him.

Kouji: "BOUKEN AND MUZAI! WHERE ARE THEY!?"

Women: "Heh......don't worry little one. You're friends are fine. The girl is just in the other room. But that big guy, hes a tough one alright! Hes already working on your ship! heh."

Kouji: "Is Muzai alright?! I have to go see her!"

Kouji jumped up but fell to his knees from the pain in his ribs.

Women: "Careful little one! Your ribs are broken. Don't worry about the girl, shes okay. She broke her arm, but shes resting. You need to get some rest yourself! Here, have some of this ramen I made for you. Its from an old family recipe! It helps accelerate the healing of wounds heh!"

Kouji sat down and began to eat the ramen. It was delicious.

Kouji: "Wow this is so good......oh how rude of me, here I am in your house and I don't even know your name!"

Woman: "Heh, my name is Nisou. What would be the name of your companions?"

Kouji: "My name is Kouji, the girl in the other room is Muzai, and the big oaf fixing the ship is Bouken."

Nisou: "Ah hah. So what happened out there?"

Kouji: "We got caught in an asteroid storm, and got hit. We had to make an emergency landing......here.......by the way, where would here be?"

Nisou: "Oh, this is the planet of Tomoshibi, named after the God of Light. You are familiar with the old religion aren't you?"

Kouji: "Ummm....well not really, my family wasn't very religious."

Nisou: "Hmmm....what a shame, the old religion is really something! heh. But tell me, what were you and your friends doing all the way out here?"

Kouji told Nisou about what had happened to Charidol and the rest of his family.

Kouji: "So....I've decided to put a stop to this whole endless cycle...I will stop the Trinexus!"

Kouji had that glow in his eyes, the same glow he had when talking to Muzai back into the hospital. Nisou smiled.

Nisou: "I see! haha! Come with me boy, there is something I want to show you."

Kouji: "huh?"

Nisou: "Hurry up now! I have a small chapel behind the house, there is something we need to see! This is exciting! Very exciting indeed!"

Kouji and Nisou got up and began to walk to the back of the house. They went into the backyard and a small wooden chapel was there. They entered the chapel which consisted of one underlit room with a giant mural of the old gods behind and altar. Below the mural there were 7 unlit candles with 7 different symbols above them. As soon as they entered the room, the middle candle lit.

Nisou: "Oh my! This is so incredible! Kouji, its time for you to learn about the old gods. Long long ago before people, before solar systems, before planets and before stars, there was nothing. From this nothing, came everything we see in the world today. But they didn't just "appear". They were created. From this nothingness, 7 beings were born. Each of these beings controlled a different aspect of the world. Light, Fire, Water, Earth, Wind, Lightning, and Darkness. Each of these beings worked together to create everything. Together they formed habitats that were able to support life. Light, Fire, Water, Earth, Wind and Lightning were all needed to create life, and life they created!"

Kouji: "This is all interesting Mrs. Nisou....but why are you telling me this?"

Nisou: "hoo hoo! Don't fret little one, in time you will understand. Now let me finish! As I said before, Light, Fire, Water, Earth, Wind and Lightning were necessary for life. But sadly, darkness was not. Imagine that! The most abundant element in the universe, is sadly the only one that is not necessary! Well you can imagine, darkness was jealous. He wanted to be important. He grew envious of his 6 siblings, and began to plot against them. One day Darkness began his plan to put an end to life, and his siblings. He used his control of darkness to create a force that would suck in all the other elements with such strength, that they could not resist it. This vortex began to consume everything. Light, earth, fire, wind and lightning were all being drained into this empty abyss until all creation was gone. Only the siblings remained. This angered Darkness's siblings who then teamed up against him and this began a war unlike anything this world has ever, or ever will, have known. The war went on, but Darkness was much more powerful than the other elements. They were weakened by the loss of their creations and the toll was apparent. When all seemed lost....it was Light who arose to the occasion. Summoning the last of his strength, he cast Darkness into his own abyss. Upon contact with the abyss it exploded in what we now call the big bang, releasing creation into nothing once again."

Kouji was captivated by the tale.

Nisou: "While knocked unconscious by the blast, the 6 siblings imprisoned darkness in a cage combined with all 6 of their elements. The 6 of them discussed what to do, and then agreed to give Darkness half of their creation in order to appease his envy. They freed him, and they all reconciled their differences. This is why we now have night and day."

Nisou's face grew serious.

Nisou: "Now to how this involved you. It was not an accident that you arrived here today my child, it was fate. You see, ever since the Great War of the Gods so many years ago, there has been a cycle. Every 200 or so years, a generation is born with extraordinary powers. One child for each of the 7 elements. These 7 children are then intertwined by fate, and destined to recreate the Great War. Now follow me behind the altar."

Kouji followed Nisou behind the altar and they came to a stop in front of the candle that lit when they entered. Above the candle was a circular symbol with lines all around it facing in an outward direction.

Nisou: "This symbol is the symbol we of the Old Religion use to represent the God of Light, Tomoshibi. This is the single most important symbol of our faith. It symbolizes courage and strength, and all that is good in the world. When we entered the chapel, this candle lit by itself. This candle is a special type of candle they make in our religion. There are 7 different types, and each of them are imbued with the energy of a different element. This candle in front of us is imbued with the energy of light. When someone who possesses the power of that element enters the room, that candle lights. Do you know what this means Kouji?"

Kouji: "......"

Nisou: "You! You are the child of light! The child of prophecy! The child who comes once every 200 years to cast darkness into the vortex of its own envy! It is you, who will unite the elements of fire, earth, water, wind and lightning, and it is you, who will defeat Darkness!"

Kouji stood there in disbelief.

Kouji: "There must be some mistake....I haven't felt any extraordinary powers in my life. You must have it wrong.....I'm sorry."

Nisou: "Hoohoo! No, Kouji, you haven't awoken your powers yet, but they are there! I'm sure of it! You, Kouji, are the Child of Prophecy!"

Nisou: "Hoohoo! No, Kouji, you haven't awoken your powers yet, but they are there! I'm sure of it! You, Kouji, are the Child of Prophecy!"

TO BE CONTINUED!

__________________________________________________ _______________

Kouji was stunned by these revelation. He hadn't done anything extraordinary his entire life. His lived a boring life, running errands for his parents. Hell, he was even just a B student in school. What had started out as vengeance for his mother was now going beyond anything he could have ever imagined. He was supposed to save the world.

Nisou: "Hoo hoo! Kouji we have much work to do! I need you to gather your friends and bring them here. There is something we must see, when you get them, tell them the story I told you about the Old Gods and the Great War. It is important that they know the story."

Kouji: "Ok....."

Kouji left the hut and went in search for his friends. He first went to the room where Muzai was resting.

Kouji: "Hey Muzai, how are you feeling?"

Muzai: "I'm feeling much better, that woman did a great job healing my injuries. Its a little weird being the one being cared for."

Kouji: "How's your arm?"

Muzai: "My arm is great, it feels better than it did before the crash! Theres something weird in that Ramen the woman made for me.....I'll have to ask her about it so I can get some for our trip. It really helped heal the wounds almost instantly."

Kouji's expression turned grim. Something was on his mind.

Muzai: "huh? Whats wrong Kouji?"

Kouji: "Muzai......I think you should go back to Charidol."

Muzai: "....What? Why?"

Kouji: "This is too dangerous, things are getting complicated. I just don't think its safe.....It was wrong of me to get you involved, if something happened to you I wouldn't be able to forgive myself."

Muzai: "....Kouji...."

Kouji: "Bouken can bring you back right after we leave this planet. You'll be safer back home."

Muzai: "Kouji stop it! Did you forget what happened to my family?! I have no home! This is something I need to do. If I go home.........I don't know what I would do......theres nothing for me there!"

Kouji: "........Muzai.........*sigh*..........Lets go find Bouken, we can talk about this later, Nisou wants to talk to everyone."

__________________________________________________ _______________

Kouji and Muzai made there way outside and went over to the ship.

Kouji: "BOOOUUKEEEEN!"

Bouken popped out of the **** pit covered almost head to toe in oil and sweat. He jumped down and had a huge smile on his face.

Bouken: "haha! How about that crash Kouji! That was something else, wasn't it?"

Kouji: "You could have killed us all you big *******!"

Bouken: "Oh lighten up you buzz kill! That was fuckin' fun as hell! I bet Muzai was turned on by it weren't you hunny?"

Muzai: "Ugh......you're a pig Bouken."

Bouken: "Haha! I'll take that as a yes, please give me some more Bouken!"

Kouji: "Bouken, stop messing around. Hows the ship?"

Bouken: "The Doragon? Oh she's a little banged up but its nothing I haven't seen before. The only problem is without the supplies I had at home, I'm going to have trouble fixing the wing that ripped off. We're going to have to head into town at some point to get some things."

Kouji: "Hmmm....okay, but we have to talk to Nisou first. She said she has something important to tell us."

Bouken: "Hmmmm, aight that sound good. Is she going to give us some more of that ramen? That shit was amazing!"

Kouji: *sigh* "Lets go.""

Bouken: "What? Did I say something? Where are you guys going?! Wait up!"

As Kouji, Bouken and Muzai walked over to the chapel where Nisou was waiting Kouji told them the story of the Old Gods and the Great War.

__________________________________________________ ______________

Kouji, Bouken and Muzai entered the chapel where Nisou was waiting. Two more of the candles lit up. One candle had a symbol that looked like the flame of a candle, while the other was a bunch of circular swirls moving towards the center.

Nisou: "Ah ha! I see, this is very interesting indeed! Hurry up you three, come over here. As you can see these three candles are lit. Kouji, you know what your's means. You are the Child of Light."

Bouken: "Kouji what the **** is this loon talking about?"

Nisou: "Loon eh?"

*THWACK!*

Bouken: "OH! WHAT THE **** YOU OLD BAT!"

Nisou: "Hmph......I guess I shouldn't expect more from someone like you! Come over here. Kouji told you about the Old Gods right?"

Bouken: "Ya, what does that shit have to do with me?"

Nisou: "This candle here before you lit when you entered the hut. It is imbued with a certain element, and when the candle is in the presence of the Child of that certain element, it lights. You Bouken, are the Child of Fire. And inherently, you are short tempered, powerful, and sadly........mischievous and flirtatious."

Bouken: "....What.......the......****.....are you talking about"

Nisou: *sigh*

*THWACK*

Bouken: "OOOOOWWWW! KOUJI I SWEAR TO GOD! I'M GONNA SMACK THIS WOMAN!"

Kouji: "Bouken, calm down. Show some damn respect for once! You're acting like a child!"

Bouken: "Hmph....Well according to this lady, I am a "Child"."

Kouji: "You know what I mean!"

Bouken: "Ya Ya.....fine, I'm sorry Mrs. Nisou....."

Nisou: "Hmph......good.....Now listen. Fire is the most powerful element in terms of destructive power. This is something you must learn to control, as if you try to use it before you are ready, you may end up hurting the people you are trying to protect."

Bouken: "You hear that Kouji? You may be the "Chosen One", but I can still kick your ass ha!"

Kouji: "Ya sure you can."

Muzai: "Umm.......Mrs. Nisou, I see this candle is also lit, what does that mean for me?"

Nisou: "Aaaah.....if you above your candle you can see the symbol of water. This means you Muzai, are the Child of Water. Water is revered for giving life, and its ability to heal. You are the epitome of serenity and are kind hearted and are able to bring comfort and calmness to those around you. As water, it is your role to make sure the ones around you are healthy."

Muzai: "Water......okay!"

Nisou: "Now listen. This is the planet dedicated to the God of Light. In the main city of Tomoshibi, named after the God of Light and this planet, you will find the Temple of Light. There you will meet the head priest of Tomoshibi, and he will be able to help you come to terms with your power. You must hurry, I fear that the spread of Darkness is moving very fast."

Kouji: "I understand Mrs. Nisou, we'll leave right away."

Bouken: "Okay, lets go guys, while we're there, I can pick up the supplies needed to fix up the Doragon."

Muzai: "Mrs. Nisou, thank you for everything. But if there is something I could ask you, what is your recipe for that ramen? It healed us all so quickly, I think it could really help me take care of everyone else."

Nisou: "Ha ha, I have the recipe right here. Be careful with this, it was handed down over many generations within this family. We call it "Regenerative Ramen". Its like magic!"

Muzai: "Heh, Thanks Mrs. Nisou!"

Nisou: "Now go children, you have much to do, and not much time to do it!"

Final Fantasy Odyssey Chapter 7: The Temple of Tomoshibi

Kouji, Bouken and Muzai began packing for their journey ahead. It was much hotter on this planet then back home, and the heat was already taking its toll. They made sure to pack plenty of water and food. After they finished packing they began to head out.

Nisou: "Kouji I need to tell you something before you leave. Can you two give us a moment please?"

Muzai: "Sure Mrs. Nisou, we'll be waiting outside Kouji."

Muzai and Bouken headed outside to give Kouji and Nisou some privacy.

Nisou: "Kouji you must be very careful of whom you trust, friends can become foes when you least expect it."

Kouji: "What do you mean Nisou?"

Nisou: "In your battle against Darkness, you must be very careful of who you surround yourself with. Darkness's true power does not lie in its ability to cause destruction."

Kouji: "Its power isn't just to destroy? What do you mean?"

Nisou: "Darkness's true power lies in its ability to corrupt the soul. It can cause people to harm those they care about as if they were possessed. If the soul of a person is weak, they will be overpowered, and they will be controlled. You have the power to break that control, remember that."

Kouji: "I understand Mrs. Nisou.....thank you."

Nisou: "Oh, I almost forgot. Take this."

Kouji: "Huh? What are these keys for?"

Nisou: "They're for the hovercraft outside. Its a long ways to Tomoshibi, I have no more use for that thing out there."

Kouji: "Thank you Mrs. Nisou. Thank you for everything."

Nisou: "Haha, its been my honor child. Now go, the world's fate rests on your shoulders."

Kouji: "Good bye Mrs. Nisou."

Kouji turned and walked out the door, unaware of just how incredible the path ahead is going to be.

Kouji: "Okay guys lets go, Mrs. Nisou gave us the hovercraft to make things a little easier."

Bouken: "......You mean that thing over there?"

Over to the left was a hovercraft with a cover over it. Kouji walked over and lifted the cover off revealing something that resembled a relic from the olden days. The craft was covered from end to end with rust and dirt. Kouji hopped in and thrust the key into the ignition. When he turned the key the craft let out a loud sputter and dust poured out of the exhaust.

Bouken: "......Kouji I'm not getting in that thing. It looks like its about to explode."

Kouji: "Well then you can walk, Muzai hop on in."

Muzai: "Okay Kouji. Just be careful."

Muzai hopped in the craft and Kouji started to drive away.

Bouken: "KOUJI! WAIT UP!"

Bouken ran up and jumped in the back, almost sending the craft into the ground. They headed off towards Tomoshibi.

_________________________________________________________________

The trip took almost 2 full days by hovercraft. One day spent fixing the car, the other day for traveling. The city itself was beautiful. The architecture was very classical, most of the buildings were stone and had pillars and domes. The hovercrafts and ships flying overhead were a stark contrast to the city's historical atmosphere. At the center of the city was an enormous building. The building was all stone with a perfect dome covering the top. At the front of the building stairs with two giant statues to the sides. One statue was of a man wearing a robe and a crown. He held a staff in his left hand and held out his right arm as if to beckon people inside. There was no mistaking it, this was the temple Mrs. Nisou was speaking of. Kouji, Muzai and Bouken made their way inside the temple. As soon as they entered a large flame shot up in the middle of the temple. The priest who was standing at the alter with his back to the flame slowly turned with a bewildered look on his face.

Priest: "My God........it can't be!"

Kouji: "Hello, my name is Kouji, these are my friends Muzai and Bouken. We were told to come here by a priestess named Nisou.

Priest: "Then you must know who you are and what this means......this is incredible! Please come with me, I must take you to the head priest! But your friends must stay here, only a select few are allowed into the back chambers. And you my child, are one of the select few."

Kouji: "Okay, you two stay here."

Bouken: "Awww come on, we gotta stay out here while you get to have all the fun?"

Muzai: "No its okay Kouji, we will wait for you."

Bouken: "Hah! Well as long as Muzai stays with me, I'll be fine. Finally I get to have some alone time with you baby."

Bouken crashed through a pew and collided with a large thud into the wall. There was a large red hand mark on the right side of his face.

Muzai: "You speak to me with respect. I'm not some floozy!"

Bouken: "....ouch......."

Kouji and the Priest made there way through a door into a large chamber where an elderly man was kneed before a statue in prayer.

?????: "Hmmmmm? What do we have here. This feeling........"

The priest walked over to the old man and began whispering in his ear. The old man's face lit up and he jumped to his feet.

?????: "Amazing.....I never thought this would happen during my lifetime. My child, I am the head priest of this temple, my name is Yogensha."

Kouji: "Its nice to meet you Yogensha, my name is Kouji."

Yogensha: "Kouji, we have no time to spare. As you know Darkness is spreading through the world at an alarming pace. We must begin your training now!"

Final Fantasy Odyssey Chapter 8: Purging the Darkness

Kouji and Yogensha wandered through some hallways of the temple and down a large spiraling stair case which was dimly lit by candles on the wall. Dust was covering every step, it was clear that nobody had tread down these stairs in a long time.

Yogensha: "This is the way to the training chambers. They're specially built for bringing out the light in people in the quickest and most effective way. The training will be very difficult, both mentally and physically."

Kouji: "I understand."

The two made their way into a large chamber. It was a medium sized circular room with a large dome at the ceiling. In the middle of the room was an old wooden chair.

Yogensha: "This is the purification room. Light is a very difficult thing to master. When the user has a heart possessed by darkness they will be unable to control the simplest of techniques. This room may very well be the most difficult to overcome. In order to purify the mind and body, one must overcome their greatest fear and anger. When you sit in that chair and the door is sealed, the room will show you these things, and you must overcome them."

Kouji: "I understand, I will do my best to overcome them."

Yogensha: "Your "best" may not be good enough. You can not, must not fail."

Kouji: "I will NOT fail, understand?"

Yogensha: "Hmmmm......I see. Well go sit in the chair."

Kouji walked into the room cautiously and sat in the middle of the room. The door sealed shut behind him. He sat on the cold wooden chair and looked around. Suddenly a swift breeze blew past his face and blew out the candles lighting the room. Kouji became nervous, not knowing what to expect. The room was now pitch black, and there was no noise. Suddenly there was light. Kouji was no longer in the chamber, but awoke in the comfort of his own bed by a light coming in through the window.

?????: "Hey Kouji!"

Kouji whipped around at the sound of an uncomfortably familiar voice. "It can't be he thought to himself." He saw the face and his body went numb. He was barely able to squeak out,

Kouji: "....Oh my God......Mom?"

Mother: "Yes Kouji, you sound surprised, whats wrong?"

Kouji: "This can't be....real....you were.....killed...."

Mother: "What? Kouji you shouldn't say things like that! Whats wrong with you?"

Kouji: ".....whats going on? Was it all a dream? It couldn't be......it seemed so real...."

Mother: "Kouji you're acting real strange......are you feeling sick?"

Kouji: "...huh? Oh....no.....I'm feeling fine."

A smile jumped up on Kouji's face.

Kouji: "Its good to see you mom."

Mother: "..heh...Its good to see you too son, as weird as you are."

Suddenly the room burst with an explosion. Kouji was thrown into the other room. When he got up he saw his mother's lifeless body laying on the ground.

Kouji: "...no....not again! God no!"

All the feelings from that day rushed back into Kouji's mind. Fear, anger, hatred, sorrow, everything. As he stood there, a large figure entered the room.

Kouji: "Who the hell are you?"

The figure didn't say anything. It just stood there. He was large and dressed in black armor. Kouji realized who it was, it was the leader of the Trinexus, King Yuugure. Kouji's rage went out of control. He ran at Yuugure and lashed out with all of his anger in one strike. Yuugure grabbed his arm with his left hand and thrust his sword through Kouji's stomach. Everything went dark. "What the hell is going?" Kouji thought to himself.

The darkness slowly went away as the candles in the circular chamber lit up. The light from the candles were reflecting off of Kouji's wet, tear drenched face. The door swung open and Yogensha slowly walked in.

Yogensha: "Do you understand how difficult this is going to be now?"

Kouji: "What......what the hell was that?"

Yogensha: "It was the event that has filled you with darkness. The loss of your mother, and your vow to vengeance. Kouji......revenge is not the right path. You must come to peace with what happened to your mother. It is clouding your vision, and without clearing your mind, you will never be able to control your powers."

Kouji: "What?! What are you talking about?! My mother was killed because of him! I MUST avenge her!"

Yogensha: "Hmph....you will destroy the forces that killed your mother. But you cannot do it for the wrong reasons. Revenge is NOT the right reason. Do you see where it leads you? It makes you angry, and fills you with hate! These are aspects of darkness, if you use them, your soul will be corrupted, and darkness will be reborn from light!"

Kouji: "Then tell me what I'm supposed to do!"

Yogensha: "You must fight for justice, not vengeance! Now you have to clear your mind, fight off the hatred in your heart!"

Kouji: "Yes, I will."

Kouji entered the room and sat back down in the chair. Again it went dark. And again he awoke in his room and with his mother at his side.

Kouji: "Mom...."

Mother: "Kouji, good morning."

Kouji: "Good morning Mom. Its good to see you again."

Mother: "Haha, its good to see you to son."

Kouji, knowing what was going to happen next, needed to say something.

Kouji: "Mom.....I love you, goodbye....."

An explosion once again rocked the house and Kouji found himself in the room standing over the body of his dead mother. It was different this time....there was no hatred, no anger. He was at peace.

The dark figure again walked through the door and stood silent staring at Kouji. Kouji walked up to the man and stopped a foot away.

Kouji: "You spread anger and fear, hated and sorrow, you spread darkness wherever you go. This is unacceptable. Justice must be carried out."

Suddenly Kouji was surrounded by light. The light shot out in all directions and made contact with the man. He slowly peeled away with the light and when it disappeared the man was gone. Kouji didn't feel happy, he felt justified.

Kouji opened his eyes and he was back in the chamber. Yogensha entered the room with a large smile on his face.

Yogensha: "Very good, you have purified the hatred from your soul. You are now ready to learn how to control the light. Lets go to the next room. :D )

Chapter 9: In the Heart of the Temple

Yogensha: Now we must continue to the next step in the training. Now that your heart and mind are pure you can move on to controlling your inner light. To do this we must travel to the heart of the temple.

The pair continued deeper into the the depths of the temple. As they went further it seemed as though time itself was being rewound. The architecture and building materials were becoming older and older. It was a testament to the true age of this place. Had this cycle been going on over and over for this long?

Kouji: Yogensha.......if this fated cycle has been going on as long as this temple has stood.....then how can I bring it to an end?

Yogensha: Hmm.....you want to end the cycle my child? For that to happen.....not even I know. It is something that you alone as the child of light must find the answer. Here we are.

The pair came upon another room. This room was made entirely out of stone. It was circular with a domed top. In the center of the ceiling was a thin hole that extended all the way to the surface, allowing a beam of light to enter. The light focused down onto a pedestal in the center of the room with a crystal ball in the center which lit up like a light bulb.

Yogensha: This is the heart of our temple my child. That is the most sacred object in our religion. The Orb of Tomoshibi. This item is what will aid you in awakening your powers, and will accompany you on your journey. Go place your hands on it child.

Kouji obeyed the priest. He moved over to the pedestal and place his hand on the top of the crystal. Even without access to the light from above the crystal stayed lit. A surge of energy flowed into Kouji's body, it was truly incredible.

Yogensha: Do you feel it my child? That energy is the power of light. By touching the orb you are granted the ability to bend light to your will. Now we shall begin training on how to manipulate that light.

Bouken: "Man! This crap is boring! When is Kouj gonna get his ass back here?"

Muzai: "Relax Bouken, this is important."

Bouken: "Pssh! Remember sweet chee-.....I mean "Muzai", I ain't here for your saving the world business. I'm just here to explore. This shit is really slowing down my pace."

Muzai: "Be that as it may, you are still here with us."

Bouken: "Ya ya ya, I know. Don't ya worry babe, I ain't gonna leave you and Kouj. But I can't stand this temple anymore, it gives me the creeps. Why don't we save some time and get them supplies we need for the Doragon?"

Muzai: "Alright, thats a good idea. Kouji won't need us for a while, and this will make us useful. Lets go.

Muzai and Bouken left the temple and departed into the town. For a main city it didn't seem too populated. But there was something off......the people kept giving the pair odd looks.

Bouken: "The hell these guys starin at us for Muzai? I don't like how this looks."

Muzai: "They're probably just not accustomed to seeing many foreigners, relax."

They entered a mechanic shop and began searching for the items they needed. They brought them to the register and payed the clerk. The clerk didn't even say a word to them.

They walked out of the store.

Bouken: "What the hell?!"

A group of men were waiting for them, with assault rifles aimed at them.

Bouken: "Shit! What the hell is wrong with this place?!"

???????: "Now, now. No need to get out of sorts. You see, I'm the sheriff of this here city. You foreigners seem to have come at a strange time. Word is the Trinexus is back on the offensive. And I think you might just be their spies.

The mystery man crept through the crowd of armed men and stepped out in between the two groups. He was a tall and lanky person and sported a white suit with white cowboy boots and a brown cowboy hat. He was holding a lit cigarette in his mouth right underneath his bushy mustache.

???????: "Now see the only way for me to know you aren't a spy is for you and that gal to hand over whatever cash ya got on ya. Heh, that way we'll be sure."

The sound of the guns clicked as the crowd of men prepared to fire.

Bouken: "F*ck you you damn corrupt *******! I ain't givin you shit!"

Muzai: "Bouken! This isn't the time! Lets just do as he says!"

???????: "Heh, you should listen to that little missy friend. No need for nobody to die today."

Bouken tensed up in anger.

Bouken: "grrrr...........shit.........take it you bastard!"

Bouken reached into his pocket and tossed his cash onto the ground.

???????: "I knew you'd understand."

The Sheriff walked over to the pile of cash and picked it up.

???????: "Now I don't want no trouble from ya while you're here. Ya understand boy? But you seem like the hot-headed type of little shit who might just try to pull somethin'. So I'm gonna need to take a little collateral."

The man reached down to his hip and removed a white plated pistol from his holster. He took the gun by the barrel and swung it at Bouken's head. The butt of the gun smashed into Bouken's skull leaving a gash in his head and sending him to the floor.

???????: "Now to make sure you don't try to pull anything I'm gonna take little missy here. She'll make a damn nice maid."

Bouken's vision blurred as he laid, bloodied on the ground. As his vision faded the last thing he saw was Muzai being taken away by the man.

Bouken: "......shit......ugh....."
