I’m not expecting a crap from our national Saudi team. It’s natural. Yet it’s painful to watch or even think about it. Football in Saudi Arabia is garbage. They could even dream about winning Asia Cup.

Keep your heads up guys, I'm half english half austrian but I live in Austria and my Austrian half didn't even manage to go to the WC. I don't want to sound corny but arabian or asian teams have alot of quality players nowadays and I'm sure these counties will produce more and more good players. Only was able to see the first 20 minutes. Not really surprised by the score and it's good for the neutral football fan, but honestly it's not so much that the best team won, but the least worst. From what I saw, I wasn't that particularly impressed by Russia. I got this vibe going that now they have that monstrous win, but will end up third after Egypt and Uruguay. They just seem that kind of team.

Imo Real Madrid are certainly to blame in this case, they should've kept their mouths shut until after the World
Cup and not leak it to Ramos or other RMA players.



But sacking him because of that went a bit overboard imo, did the non real players really make that big of a deal out of it?

It makes sense that they asked Ramos as he first hand experienced Lopetegui skills. The Spanish federation though didn't know anything about Real contacting Lopetegui. Only 5 minutes before they made the announcement they contacted the Spanish federation. So I can imagine they were not very pleased. Yeah if Madrid would have waited till after the tournament, it would have been better, but this is the 21st century...it would have been a small miracle if they actually would succeed in that. Rumors alone are enough to cause turmoil, so they decided to come clean on their own terms.

Now the intention was that Lopetegui still would finish the tournament and then become coach of Madrid. For the Spanish Federation however this is humiliating. So they only had two options: sack the coach at the risk of ruining the tournament or continue with him and make it rather obvious whose truly in charge of Spanish football. That it was Madrid of all teams makes this extra painful as they were supposed to be the most nationalistic Spanish team.

Just came home from my night shift only to see such a thrasing. Maybe I underestimated Russia when I predicted 2-0? Or maybe I overestimated the opponent? From what I've read and seen it was neither, lol, but I can't really see a reason to complain about the lack of real tension just yet, just have to wait for tomorrow's matches for the bigger excitement.

Someone above mentioned their National team not being in here, I can relate, lol. My Country hasn't qualified for shit since the 90s so I've long since stopped watching them. Funny thing though is that they are higer ranked than both Russia and Saudi Arabia on the FIFA Ranking so it could have been different indeed.

As for the Spain "incident," only tomorrow will give us some real answers. I hear that there was a turmoil in today's press conference and that Ramos said it felt like a funeral before he left, even after exclaiming that their spirit was all good and well. Maybe the pressure is piling on, just in time for Ronaldo to shine.

Predictions;

Egypt 0-2 Uruguay
Marokko 0-0 Iran
Portugal 1-0 Spain (or maybe a late equalizer on a corner from Ramos and 1-1).

Uruguay Wins, so close to the end! Egypt did well, their keeper was very good. Suarez and Cavani didn't produce, Salah didn't make an appearance. Disappointing.

And Spain were on the top favorite list since the beginning , last match they lost was in 2016. Just look at their line up. They simply have the best team on paper. Better than Germany , Better than Brazil. I know, since I play FIFA.
