Congratulations to germany, this was by no means an easy match as people taught argentina has proved themselves to be among the best, germany make history by winning it on south american soil and well deserved at the end.

Lahm? No. Bastian man of the match aside from goetze but in 7 appearances messi scored 4 goals and made 1 assist he created the most goal scoring opportunities in this tournament and captained his team to the final when you add all this i say it is fully deserved.

GERMANYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY! IT IS DONE! 12 years of pain, sorrow, disappointment, and fading hope. FINALLY! I have waited so long for this moment. 2002 Germany made me fall in love with the sport, and ever since I've waited for this moment. Finally, done.
Messi did not deserve that Golden Ball. Rodriguez and Muller were both better than him as attackers. Hummels, Robben, Kroos all better as well. Blatter gives his boyfriend some consolation, oh well.

1.Match today was enthralling and entertaining till the last minute it was a passionate performance by both teams.
Both teams showed character, grit and determination as expected of both teams.
2.Germans were sublime as usual, they were playing their vintage game. They were pressing hard, passing the ball and were creating many chances.
3.They were playing as a unit, a well oiled machine, wherein each part is expected to perform with utmost efficiency and precision and were completely effective.
4.Match today was the closest and hardest for Germany as expected. Argentina were playing a defensive style for countering tiki-taka, they controlled the space and prevented their chances. But the German's were still creating chances, and were posing threat.
5.Schweinsteiger, Lahm, Ozil, Schurrle, were pressing the ball forward and Muller and Klose were creating problems. Germany had to regroup after losing key midfielder Sami Khedira to injury and I feel sorry for Kramer, he had to be substituted because of the bump he took, I hope he is fine.
6. In defense Boateng and Hummels have to be commended especially Boateng as he was defended for his life today, for me he was Motm along with Gotze and Neuer was brilliant as usual.
7.As for Argentina it was their best performance, this world cup.
8. Argentina were playing deep with compact midfield and defense, giving them little space, counter against tiki-taka and then countering them. Brazil were giving Germany all the space they needed which Argentina were controlling, and their strategy worked wonders, they put Germany in a fix because of their counter attack, which today they couldn't capitalize.
9. For me best part of Argentina was defense Mascherano, Zabaleta, Demichelis, E. Garay were awesome.
10. They missed Di maria clearly and Lavezzi was their best attacking player.
11. For me Messi was underwhelming in this match, especially in second half and extra time. He is a shell of his former 2008-2011 self. Higuain and Aguero were poor. They missed 2 clear goals first Higuain and then Palacio.
12. Inspite of this inspired performance by Argentina, they just couldn't best the German team which were superior.
Nonetheless the match was worthy of a final.
13.German team are best summed up by:-
Germany captain Philipp Lahm: "Whether we have the best individual players or whatever does not matter, you have to have the best team.
"We stepped up time and again in the tournament, did not let ourselves get distracted by any disruption, went on our way.
"And at the end you stand there as world champions - an unbelievable feeling. The team has remained quiet and patient."
14. Germany deserved this world cup after years of toil and years and years of consistently playing good football.
They were spectacular as a team, which in fact was a precision machine designed to play sublime and beautiful football like a piece of art.

Great match, Germany totally deseved it, but c'mon Messi MVP of the tournament, yeah, I call bullshit FIFA. James Rodriguez, Robben, Muller, Lahm, Shweinsteiger, these guys deserved it more than Messi, hell. But it's FIFA so what can we do, give the prize for the guy who played like shit against Holland and didn't played that well today. If they wanted to give the award to a guy from Argentina then why not give it to Mascherano, he deserved it more then Messi.
