Suarez is the most important player for Uruguay. Without him they will struggle. He needs to be in the team.

He should have thought about that before having Italian for dinner. He should be banned for the rest of the Tournament.

He should have thought of that before deciding to bite another person. Worst thing is, it isn't his first time. The guy has issues.

Amazing player, but he likes to bite.

Fair enough then, but it's a major blow for Urugauy and the worst part is they face Colombia next.

I know. I'm sort of hoping he's allowed to play and gets punished after purely because he's a great player. I just think he's an idiot.

It's almost certain he will get a lengthy ban.

Anyway can't wait till Argentina vs Nigeria and France vs Ecuador today. Get to see Messi and Benzema in action once again.

1. You are blaming only the ref and Uruguayan team for Italy's loss, Uruguay wanted to win the match they out performed Italy in every department, I am just objectively analysing their loss, no fanboyism from my side.

2. Italy looked poor in both of their last game, did you really think before the world cup that Costa Rica would defeat the Italians the way they did?

3. I know Italy never played/plays attacking football, I know that their playing style includes a lot of stalling, in fact they have many a times played just how Uruguay played today, their whole conniving footballing strategy is known to all etc. etc. etc but times have changed, similar things were said by Spanish supporters and see they had their poorest performance, if anything this world cup has taught us is that attacking football is the future.
In the game of Germany vs Ghana, even Germans had to play kamikaze football, which they are not comfortable with.

4. In 2006 times were different, players were different it had materazzi, pirlo in his prime, totti, toni and above all they were coached by lippi whose strategies were in a different level.
I still the memories of that final, where connivance of Italy won them a red card against Zidane, that team was playing to win much like uruguay today.

We all can cry that Italy deserved to qualify, probably might be true but Uruguay outplayed them in strategy today.
I will reiterate again Italians need a support to Pirlo in the midfield a genius like him.
You yourself are admitting to the fact that Uruguay packed their midfield which shows the domination of their strategy which simply Italians couldn't overcome.
In the end football is as much about strategy as it is about quality of play.
Also that Godin strike was not a fluke.

You know what's ironic is today Uruguay outplayed Italy in their own style and with tactics from their own book.

Ummm how exactly having a player advantage and win Via fluke header is outplaying ? you're not being objective at all
you're only hitting on Italy and praised Uruguay despite playing shit till they have a red card advantage

nope but after they beat Uruguay i know Costa Rica can do it,

and this is where you revealed your hate of Italy, conniving ? really ?
attacking football is the future ? tell that to Bayern and Barcelona,
the Germans struggle simply because they're adapting Guardiola style, if they played like the way they always did Ghana would have been decimated

Lippi ? he pretty much have the same team in 2010 and what happen ?
again connivance ? what is your beef with Italy ? provoking/taunting is no way against the rules it happens all the time even now, provoking/taunting is allowed in sport, They win 2006 WC fair and square

Uruguay packed their midfield never shown their domination over the Italian, if anything the Italians manage to completely kill off everything Uruguayan tried to do and the red card decided everything
yes Football is all about strategy but today we see the referees decided everything, and that fluke header coming after Suarez escape a certain red card have it been 10 vs 10 the corner would never happen,

Stop with the outplaying BS, Uruguay can't do anything before the red card every soul and intelligent being who watched the match know that.

German flops ? yes usually against Italy and Spain but they're gone
Holland flops ? sure, i don't get why people over hype them just because they cakewalk everyone in the group stage its what they do and usually after that they'll go out with a bang in the knock out stage,

Argentina ? really ? after their display against Bosnia(cherry boys) and Iran(WEAKLING/MINNOWS) ? they can only hope for the ref to save them in the knock out stage.

Depends. Germany have had a lot of run in with Italy and Spain recently who haven't been giving them the results they want, but I would be wary of Brazil, Holland, France all who can beat them. Netherlands have been to 3 finals now and lost them. They have a shot, but as of now not going to really consider them as huge threat (not saying they can be).

Arg, I've said it before they do have an unbalance team and their defence and midfield is almost non existence against Bosnia they played with 5 defenders and were still being bypassed easily, had that been the Dutch, Germans or French they would've conceded about 3-4 goals. Their offence is great, but Higuain/Aguero/Lev have been crap and only Messi/Di Maria are trying, but even they're poor at the moment. However the reason why I said maybe is because their still grinding out results and I believe who ever wins the WC will some how get saved by the ref no matter who it is.

If Arg beat/draw Nigeria tomorrow they top the group, that means they'll meet Ecuador or Switzerland in the first KO round, in QF they'll face the winner from Belgium. Now Belgium will face whoever the second place is in the last group were Germany/USA/Portugal/Ghana are and if Arg beat them they reach semi-finals were they'll probably meet someone like France, Netherlands or Germany. So, their ride to the semi-final isn't that difficult unless Germany finish second, but Arg can beat Switzerland, Ecuador, USA, Portugal, Ghana, Belgium (with some difficulties), but these guys are beatable for Arg, but again the WC has been full of surprises.

This is how KO round looks like right now

These are confirmed

Brazil V Chile
Netherlands V Mexico
Colombia V Uruguay
Costa Rica V Greece

These will depend on the next 2 match days, but at the moment

France V Nigeria
Argentina V Ecuador
Germany V Algeria
Belgium V United States

Urugauyans are known to have fiery tempers. You can't blame them.

Ofc you can blame them LOL, what kinda logic is that?

He should and will be banned for at least the remainder of this WC or FIFA will face even more unpleasant criticism, and Uruguay should get knocked out next match, they only got this far because of a disgustingly biased ref

And @fiend (or whatever) Italy was much better but it wasn't all that visible due to their playstyle, they were going for control, not aggression and they were doing it brilliantly, Uruguay (who was supposed to be the aggressor) couldn't do sh?? Which is also the reason for Italy's lack of attempts on the goal because the playstyle they played yesterday relies on your opponent actually being aggressive so you get chances from fast counters

But Uruguay was horrible until the red card, even Suarez sucked badly, Italy was in almost complete control

So no Italy didn't play badly, the ref screwed them up badly

1.Well this is discussion is extending more than I thought, I never in my original post said Uruguay were awesome or had finesse or used some magnificent tactics, what I simply said that they pressed and got a win, which is true.

2.I never said Italy played poorly, I said they should have been more focused on the win and should have tried to wrap it up, but Uruguay outplayed them in it, Uruguay as you rightly said packed their midfield and Italy could not overcome their strategy, which shows superiority of Uruguay's strategy.

3.Conniving Italy was the best Italy, I never hated Italy for their connivance in 2006 world cup, actually that was their strategy and it absolutely worked, only french fans would be sad, this is football psychology plays a huge part in it

4.Refereeing was bad but it was not as if Referee gave a wrongful penalty, ask Ivory Coast they were totally screwed last night by that 90 min penalty, he gave a red for a dangerous tackle, Did it deserve a Red, absolutely not, but worse has happened in this world cup. Italy can't hide behind the card

5. As for Barca and Bayern, I am a total cule and i love bayern too, but tiki-taka doesn't work, in its current form, actually Jupp heynckes Bayern showed that by beating barca 7-0, true last year Bayern won the league but lost in champions league against a Real Madrid who knew how to counter tiki taka by 5-0, attacking Bayern of Heynckes conquered it all.

6.Probably whatever I might say won't change your opinion that Italy were awesome, that Italy did nothing wrong,
they were just screwed, but truth of the matter is this is sport and there are no excuses, winning team takes it all, 2006 world cup finals zidane got a red card, was sent out, Italy won that is the fact, people can say whatever but there are no excuses, similarly yesterday Uruguay beat Italy, there are no excuses for that, ref might have been harsh, but Italy's players can't be absolved of their incompetencies.
By the way I too would have loved if Italy had gone through and I don't hate Italy but last night Uruguay beat Italy.

We can agree to disagree on this situation, I don't want to argue more about Uruguay vs Italy, none of them are the teams i absolutely adore and I don't care about Uruguay, who could easily be beaten by the Columbia team.

As for Germans I hope they stick with their original style, Guardiola's style is dangerous and I don't want them losing in this world cup.

Fun Fact : Did you know that the Uruguayans was the one that invented tactical foul ? they're that rough (and "dirty")

Damn I really miss Totti.:T_T:

That was kinda disturbing.XD jk

They should have included totti, last season he scored 8 goals and assisted 10-12 times, who knows him with pirlo might have created magic.

Goodbye Suarez. Uruguay won't get any further Lol

I hope fifa takes strict action against Suarez, but fifa if fifa, anyways even with suarez, uruguay aren't beating columbia.

Totti was good for Roma, I agree, but he is 37 now. Italy need to explore more talents rather than giving him a chance and but he perhaps might have been good for addition dressing room and who knows might have been produced some impact as a substitute.(if 36 year old Klose can do some wonders for Germany why can't Totti?Lol)
Italy ideally should have won against Costa Rica, but I have to say Prandelli didn't fire all his cylinders in that match, he should have substituted Mario Balotelli especially after his weak play. He should have taken few risks here and there in that match. They had Immobile on the bench who was impressive for Torino this season, he might have sent him in, but it's all 'if's and 'but's now.>_>
Against Uruguay though, I must admit they were unlucky.>_>

Uruguay got to this stage because of their team. You seriously need to look at this national team history. They are the first nation to win ever win the World Cup. That is a stupendous achievement.

What you need to understand is that Urugauy are known to play crap and still win the match.

Fun Fact : Did you know that the Uruguayans was the one that invented tactical foul ? they're that rough (and "dirty")

Yes i know. They are a threat to any national team.
