Uruguay have again created a miracle, Italy is out of the world cup, heartbreak for Italians, Italy should never have laid back and gone with the mentality of attaining a draw, the should have created more chances.

As for Uruguay they again win in the dying minutes, that corner goal by Godin proving to be the winner, Italy defended that poorly, the goal was brilliant, Suarez escapes a red card for a seeming bite on Chiellini.
But nothing should be taken away from Uruguay as the proved that the wanted the win more and kept pressing.

WHAT ?!!! Uruguay just sit back the entire 1st half and only go for a counter, start of the 2nd half Italy take out one of their striker cause of Injury and then the red card happened, what do you expect Italy to do in that situation ?

this is no miracle its all the ref, in all my years i have watched the Italians screwed by the refs over and over again,
and today it happened again,

The refereeing in this WC is even worse than in 2002.....
clear favoritism to the south american teams.

I'm sorry but this was barbaric. The images speak for themselves; except if Chielleni hid some love bites from a torrid night before, what Suarez did was a complete disgrace. His World Cup should end right now - in fact, he should never play in a World Cup again.

He bit a player for the 3rd time on a football pitch! That's self-explanatory.

I don't know why people are making fuss about European teams losing. Actually only three big European teams are out at this moment, England, Spain and Italy.
France are pretty much advancing and doing well.
Netherlands are looking phenomenal.
Germany will most probably qualify.
Switzerland, Portugal, Greece and Russia still has that chance.
England and Spain lost because of their bad play.
Italy were unlucky today to say the least.

Refereeing is bad I agree, that should not have been a red card, and Suarez did appear to bite Chiellini, but Italy wasn't as hungry for the win as Uruguay they weren't pressing hard and started the game on obtaining a draw mentality.
Yes I do sympathise with Italy, red card decision was bad for them but I still can't understand why didn't they try harder in the first half.

Also Balotelli was bad today, the was committing many nagging fouls and didn't seem interested.
Italy needs another tactical mastermind like Pirlo, he is their anchor in the midfield, but now clearly needs better support.
Italy played negative football in this match.

Italy is not one of my favs, in fact I wasn't really a big fan of them and their last minute "luck" in the past, but holy f??k was that game unfair, I was pissed at the poor refing after Croatia v Brazil (not the only one either) but this was on another f???ing level

Uruguay did not deserve to win, Italy were much better (even if their play style didn't make it obvious) until the completely bogus red card, if that is the standard for a red card every game until now should have had at least 4 of them, Urugay's poor performance and their general idiocy on the field (now that bite THAT deserved a f???ing red cad) even if not by all of them made me genuenely hate the team

Italy deserved at least a tie, I hope Uruguay get's f???ing demolished in the future

England, Spain, Italy, B&H & Croatia are out. Greece and Portugal will probably follow. Switzerland and Russia are far from certain to qualify. It's basically all hopes on Germany, Holland, France and the dark horse, Belgium.

4 teams are not really something to rejoice, if you consider that the last 2 World Cup finals were all European affairs.

And more than the failure of European teams, it's more of the South American teams' utter dominance that is shocking.

If Honduras is excluded, nearly all of their representatives have clinched their tickets for Last16. Ecuador will still need to fight for it while Brazil/Chile/Costa Rica/Uruguay/Argentina/Columbia/Mexico. We'll have a Last 16 that will have almost double, the amount of S.Am teams compared to European ones. That's quite something.

"but Italy wasn't as hungry for the win" they don't need a win to begin with!!!, and it was Uruguay who should have coming with all their might to win this match yet the're sitting back and wait for a counter, Italy was never looking for a draw, their formation and starting line up is the prove, if Italy wanted a draw then they should have park the bus from the get go,

yet they played 2 striker and played Verrati instead of Motta.....
so i don't get this bullshit about Italy playing negative football when Uruguay is the one who packed their player in midfield and penalty box before the red card.
