Gerrard is the curse. Should be retired. The captain for both club and country. Slipping to make Liverpool lose. Eliminated his country by giving an assist to Suarez and poor defending on the first goal. The real mole in this team. This is treacherous captaining. Even when there were some who played well here. And at a time, there was players like Lampard, Bekcham, Scholes ect... by his side. Someone must seriously start to question his credentials!

That depends on the difference in goals scored/received. But luckily for them those are for the moment not that drastically apart. It seems though that 2014 yet again isn't going to be the stage for England to shine.

Don't forget Uruguay's ability to perform miracles, memory of 2010 win against the Ghana still lingers in memory.

OT-If Italy wins both of their matches, then England needs to win with a big goal difference (2+ or 3+) assuming italy doesn't thrash Costa rica and Uruguay, which seems improbable.

Just leaving few points
-Uruguay defended well in my opinion. Their defence looked pretty much solid.
-Suarez was really the Suarez that Uruguay except him to be. First was pinpoint header, second one was one touch and finish and both were really masterstrokes.
-Cahill and co wasn't impressive during first half, although Cahill worked well in second half.
-England had more possession but crosses into the box weren't accurate. Gerrard simply sucked today in my opinion.

England played with passion in the second half,they played more intensely in second half than they did in Italy match.
This english team if they go out, are probably underachievers and due to the fact they are in one of the hardest groups, many teams are playing poorly than them. In anyways they are a young team which are getting invaluable experience for 2016 France, they do need a few defenders though.

As for Uruguay, I think they just might qualify, anyways Italy game is going to be tough for them.

Next match Nippon vs Greece- I hope Japan takes this one, and that Kagawa plays an improved game this time around.

Japan vs Greece match still a draw, very intense battle on both the sides, Greece reduced to 10 men, Captain Katsouris sent off after getting 2 yellows, second yellow was foolish though lack of discipline.
Advantage to japan,samaras and Torosidis for greece and Honda and Yamaguchi for Japan playing brilliantly.
