Italy have a tendency of doing it the hard way, but the next game for them is going to be very difficult as Uruguay are real tough in those moments, this complacency was the thing I was most worried about, I agree about Motta though, Italy should have attacked more fiercely against costa rica, who against Uruguay showed their attacking prowess, they needed to be more intense and should have tried to score more.
Actually in first 20 minutes when Pirlo was passing sublimely again and again, Costa Rica didn't looked that threatening, it was late in first half that they started to attack fiercely and scored. that moment changed the game. In whole of second half, save for a few moments Italian attack didn't seem fluid Costa Rica were intercepting their passes and creating problems for them.I also think Pirlo is the only reason for Italian creativity, they need more players like him or to support him more.


As for Costa rica they are probably one of the most underrated teams of this world cup, their attack was intense and they defended their fort extremely well, the most amazing thing about Costa Rica is their energy levels were as high at the end of the game as they were at the start.

Tough game for Uruguay and Italy next and Costa Rica is through.

And Uruguay is in for a trouble, this is like 2006 WC group stage all over again,
Italy drew 1-1 vs USA in the 2nd match and in the end they have to match up against Czech Republic who need a win in order to qualify, at that time Czech Republic is even better than the current Uruguay with Baros,Nedved,Jankulovski,Rosicky,Galasek and Cech
and Italy who need a draw beat them 2-0,

funny thing is just like Suarez, Milan Baros is also Liverpool star at that time.

This world cup should renamed as a facepalm world cup.
Italy's performance was really disappointing today so was Prandelli's. He showed the lack of creativity today.:|
Changing your attackers isn't the only solution when you are unable to score. It is world cup and no matter how many great players you have, one has to think about something different and take the risks. Balotelli and Insigne were caught offside on multiple ocassions with former looking completely unimpressive today.>_>

France leading by 3-0 against switzerland, they are one of the most underrated teams of this world cup, all of their attack line be it midfielders and strikers are in good form, they are performing fluidly, could have been 4-0 if Benzema didn't miss the penalty, they are just playing beautifully.

France won 5-2, Switzerland tried very hard in last 10 minutes, Benzema scored another goal at last time but it was ruled out as referee had blown the whistle, France ran riot today, they are seriously underrated.
Swizz defense was bad today,but they really shined in last 10 minutes, both of their goals were awesome.
One of the best match of the world cup.

If France doesn't qualify on a single goal difference, that last disallowed goal of Benz, will create one of the biggest WC scandals.

That apart, the Italy-Costa Rica second half was utterly boring. So, this goalfest of France-Switzerland was utterly pleasant to watch. There's a good vibe from this France team; something utterly missing from them normally since Zidane retired.

WTF FIFA thinking lol Costarica played smart. It was Italy who wasted chance by their players caught offside and some little mistakes
