The fact that Narutobase has over 30.000 members

The fact that Narutobase has over 30.000 registered members is very much a perfect statement. Only when it comes to how many of those 30.000 who are a active members in the forum of the site the number seems to be drastically much lower..

When browsing through the forum and checking on pretty much every "New Posts" I can't help to notice the same people repeatingly over and over again. It may be that the same people that I observe are the people who brows the same parts of the forum as I do, and that there are many other active members in other places. However every new post should appear in the “New Posts” section. Browsing through NB all day at college and all day at home always being logged in I cannot help to always see the same few people's names over and over again.

As my memory has its limits of memorizing names I have come to the conclusion that there are aloooot less people active on the forum than there are registered members. Say 30.000 members, only around 400 people seem like an evident number of active forum-members.

The other 29.000 or more people seem like the type of people who are registered only with interest in the Narutobase mangareader/anime-watcher part outside the forum, or for reasons such as Accessing certain topics and threads in the forum, or double-users for additional reasons.

Leaving this as it may be I would like to hear your thoughts on this. Perhaps you have something to include or to disagree with.

Sad but true. Im not going to elaborate on this, but there was some nasty things that happened recently and alot of members moved to other forums because of that. It was thought that there is only a few people that did it, but in actual fact the effect was much worse than anticipated.

The numbers are slowly decreasing :|

And yes, it actually does more damage by advertising the amount of people you have and when the person logs on, he only sees 10 - 20 people.

Yes it is true that not 30,000 people are active in the forum and some of the active ones have more than one accounts. For example, I have 2 of them. The thing that i don't get here is if you really expected to see 30.000 people here chatting and being active every day. Cause that is pretty much impossible to happen. NB is a highly active forum nevertheless, much more active than most other anime related forums and the visits to the main page everyday are thousands, not hundreds. And that is what matters the most for NB to be running, the main site above all.
Now, I don't know which is your timezone exactly, but I live in Greece and my time is: GMT +2. I'll give you my statistics based on that: During my mornings the members are always less and that is because we have many members living in America and they are sleeping at that time. In the evenings, with America awake again we have most of the days 55-85 active members on the forum, number which on weekends sometimes surpasses the #100. Now, if you, as you say are online all day from home and online from college also, means that you are always on and it is natural for you to think that always the same members are on. But that happens cause you are on all the time, not the others.
To be honest, i don't see the point of this thread. I doubt if you can find 10 anime related forums more active than NB

Actually, the nasty stuff happened there also. It was silly of these members I am guessing you mean, to think that we didn't know what happened. We were there and we saw everything told there, by all members
And allow me to say please, that NB has never had a better manga section than now, that Naruto RP is finally revived and that in here we will never cuss someone without him/her being present. Cause here we have decency and please allow me the expression, balls. Those who left NB are the people who did that, attacked without reason and without decency, hidden behind the glass walls of other forums, NB and members of it. Lying to the members who joined them so much that you couldn't believe. If NB's staff wanted to make some things public, trust me many people would be: "O_O"
Those people, are free to come back and free to never come back again, but certainly I will tell you that this forum does not need people without decency.

I dont know what happened, because I'm not up to date with the quarells, but it always shocks and saddens me to hear about these sort of things, cause the NB I knew from when I joined (I've been here longer that what it says on my profile ) was never like that, people here we're always very friendly, and thats what I liked about this forum

You shouldn't take my post offensive m8. Like I said a number of approximately 400 people being active on an average basis would sound realistic if not less. The idea is just that over 30.000 members on a forum somewhat blemish the thought you get when you see the same people submitting to all the contests and commenting on threads. I AM NOT like said earlier offending you when saying this, and I am NOT saying that there are other anime forums that are more active than NB (which I personally have doubt about)

To get the Forum clock alike mine I have to set it to GMT+2, I don’t know if you have the same problem. Might have to do with winter savings time) Yes Americans are online around 18.00 – 06.00 GMT+2 which would equal approx from noon till midnight depending on where u’re from in the US. So I am aware of this fact all taken in consideration.
The point of this thread is just to illuminate the fact that when u say that NB has 30.000 members you shouldn’t expect a whole lot of 30.000. And like I said in my first post, most people are most likely users who brows the manga/anime sections of NB which you will find on the front page.

Do not think I am trying to offend you ma’m cuz I’m not. Spreading some light on silly topics should be as much as appreciated as counting to 5000 or kiss/hug/slap/kick/love games.

It really doesn't help to broadcast your numbers like that when roughly 30% of your people are actually on. But forum communities are dying everywhere. Recession can't be that bad. But oh well.
