The sound of waves crashing against the rocky terrain this island provided was a pleasant experience. If anything, it helped the normal person to forget the bad thoughts and simply push them away by saying "not now". For Feitan, he always looked gloomy, and so was his mood today. Everyone has their own bad days, after all. Donning a typical Iwagakure shinobi attire, Feitan took out a small book from his back pouch entitled "The Alchemist". It was suggested by an elder everyone looks up to in his own village. Feitan would always go to him for advices.

Opening the first page, Feitan began reading the prologue.

Peace of mind... it did not last for so long. The Dark user quickly picked up a foreign chakra. Maybe a resident of this island, for all he cared. He put the book in its place and got up, slightly annoyed. The bandana over his mouth did not indicate such a mood though, and his constant motionless face only helped the concealment of his annoyance. Taking a long leap forward, Feitan stops mid range from a grey haired man vested in a red jacket. Without thinking or judging twice, Feitan almost immediately took action. He did not want to get to know who this guy was. He interrupted Feitan's peaceful moments and for that he needed to be put in his place. Quickly, Feitan concentrated a huge amount of Dark chakra in his right hand which took shape of a five bladed scythe, with the four blades on the top and the fifth blade on the bottom of the handle. Swinging it majestically, Feitan takes another action by applying dark chakra all around the short range the man was standing, and formed an almost invisible dark layer. The layer is 2cm thick, but barely noticeable in Baan's case since he would really have no reason to look below, unless he had sensing. This because Feitan did not show any sign of casting a technique.

Following up, Feitan forms a lightning ball in his left hand and hurls it towards Baan.

Tsuindoragonringu - Twin Dragon Rings Reference

Description: Twin Dragon Rings are two almost identical rings which are made of solid, indestructible, coil-patterned gray material, with respective colored gems in the middle. One ring's gem has a dark/red pigment, whereas the other one has a light blue/light yellow shade. The gems are surrounded by two dragons facing the opposite of each other. It is said that they originate from an isolated region of the ninja world. The person who has created them remains a mystery, but legend says that he died upon finishing creating those. In the last moments of his life, he gifts them to his two twin sons. The sons, however, became corrupted with power and started using them for bad deeds. Eventually, they would confront each other and have a death-match. At the end of the fight, both brothers fell lifeless, however, the rings respectively on their fingers remained shiny. The twins' corpses started to rot, but nature had no effect on such rings. People would also not near the rings because they believed they would cast a curse upon you. That said, the rings have remained untouched for ages. During his travels, Feitan got to find about these rings. Without worrying about anything, he would take a hold of the two rings. Studying them, he realized that these could be used to amplify his main ability; Dark Release. With that in mind, he began working on these rings and would put them on.

The main thing Feitan noticed about these two rings, is that both rings were always ready to give the user extra chakra when needed. Making use of this feature, Feitan manipulated these rings to amplify his Dark Release techniques. The dark/red ring, he would name it the "Absorption" ring, and the light blue/yellow one, he would name it the "Release" ring. The rings also have the ability to sense any kind of chakra or energy, both techniques and beings alike (people, summons, clones, etc). The mechanism of this lies within the rings constantly releasing dark chakra waves omnidirectionally, similar to Revival Fist technique. However, unlike the actual technique, these shock waves are harmless. These shockwaves are invisible and act like detectors and sonars, but will take 5 chakra points every turn from the user. Though, this is only a small part of what the rings are capable of. The main abilities of them are divided into two parts, "Absorption" and "Release".

"Absorption" ring
This is the dark/red ring. This ring will grant him the ability to enforce absorption-related techniques. The most common example will be the Inhaling Maw technique. Whenever it is used, the ring will glow in its respective colors and assist in increasing its rank by one, thus allowing the user to absorb stronger techniques. These will include S-rank Wind/Lightning/Fire techniques, F-rank raw chakra and B-rank water. It has no effect on earth techniques. The rank won't increase for S Rank or above techniques of this kind. However, the user will spend less chakra (specifically -10) when performing said techniques without weakening them.

"Release" ring
This is the light blue/yellow ring. This ring amplifies release-based techniques. Whenever these kinds of techniques are used, the ring will glow in its respective colors and enforce said technique by increasing its rank by one, making them greater and stronger. This ring won't have effect on S Rank or above techniques of this kind. Regardless, the user will spend less chakra (specifically -10) when performing said techniques without weakening them.

(Meiton: Chisuto-mu Senkai ) Dark Release: Bloodstorm Revolution

Description: By concentrating and channeling a good amount of dark chakra into either palm the user will release it and condense the dark chakra while having it take the form of a 5 bladed scythe. Four of the blades are at the top and the fifth is located at the bottom of the handle. This scythe just like any other weapon can be used to combat against other weapons like swords, kunais, shurikens, etc. While also being able to combat ones that have elements embedded into them like wind or fire, as the scythe itself being made of dark chakra carries the same properties as 'Inhaling Maw' and "Draining Touch' which allows it to absorb chakra from chakra infused weapons that touch it, and drain chakra from people who happen to get sliced by it. Being made of dark chakra and carrying the similar ability to 'Inhaling Maw' the scythe is able to absorb medium to small sized jutsus A-rank S rank and lower based on the strength and weaknesses of Dark Release by the user slashing into the jutsu. When the scythe has absorb chakra by means of a jutsu or from the opponent himself, it will begin to turn a light blue color where the user can swing the scythe releasing up to 2 medium sized dragon heads made of light blue flames made of dark chakra. These heads are under full control of the user allowing him to use them as he sees fit, be it attacking the enemy or using them to block attacks, etc. Just one dragon head has enough force behind it when used to attack that it can easily shatter bones and rupture organs of the enemy when it makes contact while also knocking them off balance. The moment a head makes contact with something it will begin to flash and erupt into a sea of intense light blue flames covering everything within short range of where it erupts, burning everything to ashes in a matter of seconds.

Meiton: Mōtaru no naitomea - Dark Release: Nightmare of the Mortal

Description: A technique which is controlled by the user and considered to be very fast in performance, the user activates either dark mark on his palm and sends a near invisible dark layer to reside on the ground. It is 2cm thick and the size of this layer is usually up to the user, but it cannot be larger than the short range radius from any target. The mechanism of this technique lies within any sudden movement done by a target with his feet. Be it a jerking movement in order to run, or simply a foot stomp, the dark layer will trigger and a total of two black, adult-sized and with elongated forearm arms will emerge from the layer and capture the target in mid-movement, restricting their movements. The way the hands emerge is dependant on how the user describes them in his move. These hands have the ability to absorb chakra, and as they start sapping, they gain a slight blue hue, and this will further increase their grip on whatever body part of the target. With the performance of one handseal, the user is able to set these hands aflame; creating a sea of full of blue flames which can cause 2nd degree burns to the target.

- The dark layer can stay only for three turns in the battlefield.

Here he was, Baan the Sin of Greed laying on the very shores of the Great Land of Lightning after receiving his day off which he decided to spend in solitude. Ever since he had rose up to the highest rank in his clan, he felt unease within himself. He wanted more power, greater than the one he had presently. It was this thought that ran over his mind while on the Turtle Island when he sighted a short figure from afar. Judging from the person's outfit, an Iwagakurian approaches the borders.
"When I thought I had the day off, then this ninja shows up!"
Hands in his pocket as usual, he walks up to the figure only stopping mid range from the man. Baan found the bandana seriously funny since it looked to feminine and probably didn't give Baan the "feel" the intruder was projecting.
The Bartholomew was at the point of asking him the typical border questions when he saw a scythe of dark chakra being created and held on the intruder's right hand. He wanted to ask if the man wanted to result to more amicable terms but he felt too lazy to do so and it looked like the man had his mind made up to battle. Following Feitan's creation of the scythe, Baan removes his right hand from his pocket and left the other in its place while slouching in his posture ; something that had become a silly habit.
He raised his hand slightly upwards towards where he could see his paw. The sight of his paw made him smile as he glanced at the intruder again.
Focusing chakra into his paw when he took a look at it, he repels himself towards Feitan. All Feitan would notice is Baan disappearing from his position (similar to Flicker Evasion) but in the real sense, Baan vanishes out of sight and moves at insane speeds above the atmosphere towards Feitan while his whole entity is coated in a tough paw bubble only to reappear a few inches by Feitan's left hand side crashing into him from the side colliding into him with enough force to break all the bones in the dark user's body. The unexpected force from the side would prove fatal to defend from, consequently after crashing into him (causing him to lean slant to the ground), The Bartholomew further lands his bubble on Feitan's damaged body squashing the remnant of the first impact into nothingness......as well as squashing all hopes of survival.
This leaves Feitan laying lifelessly, his clothes torn, bones broken, internal organs punctured, with little or no life in him.

Paw Arts: Train Wreck - Nykyu No Mi: Toren Keigei

Description: Despite the bulkiness of the
founder of the clan, he is able to move as
light as a feather. The trick behind this
prowess is nothing but the paw's power to repel. A simple jutsu developed by the
Bartholomew to execute simple but swift
movement. Using the repulsion power of the paws, a Bartholomew is able to move or perhaps, cover a fair distance in a very
miniscule amount of time, a feat way past the ability of a normal ninja. There are three variants of this art:
First Pilgrim
The first variation of the Bartholomew
movement jutsu is a simple but rather
delicate process which requires high level of skill and balance. The Bartholomew would focus chakra into his paw(s) and repel the air before them upto 15meters around a 90-180 degrees area originating from the user. The repulsion can not be blocked nor negated as it does not interact with anything but the surrounding air friction. Upon repulsion, he would have removed the entire air resistance/friction in the affected area for a very short period of time. By running within the affected area, a Bartholomew member would be running without limits thus his speed increases 2 folds. Due to the area affected by this being narrow, the Bartholomew may be limited in terms of movement, depending on how he wants to move. The removal of air friction however is temporary and only last for 2 turns before everything returns to normal. The affected area can only be utilized by Bartholomew's that have received training in the art. This ability requires the user to
spend chakra equivalent to A-rank and it can only be used once every 3 turns. A
Bartholomew legend could use it once every 2 turns. Can be used 3x per battle for normal Bartholomew while a legend is able to utilise this 4x per battle.
Second Pilgrim
The second variation of Bartholomew
movement jutsu deemed as near
instantaneous due to its speed.
The Bartholomew focuses chakra into his
paw and repels himself to a desired location upto a 200m distance if he so wishes. Unlike the first variant, the Bartholomew is not actually running but rather pushing himself
at near instatenous speed. Just like (Paw
Arts: Repel), upon repulsion, the
bartholomew vanishes from view and appears at his destination in a near intanteneous manner. This ability requires the user to spend chakra worth of S-rank and can only be trained and used when a bartholomew have attained a legend title. This ability can only be used twice per battle with a 2 turn rest in between usage.
Last Pilgrim
The last variation of Bartholomew movement jutsu. This is normally used by the Bartholomew legends to traverse between very long distance e:g miles, without having to walk or go through traveling hassle. The Bartholomew focuses chakra into his paw and repels himself in the direction he wishes. Upon repulsion, he vanishes out of sight and moves at immense speed while he is coated in a rather tough paw bubble. The Bartholomew encapsulated in the bubble, traverse through a space a little above the atmosphere, i.e: The troposphere. Upon reaching the destination, the bubble containing the Bartholomew descends and crashes on the ground leaving a fair crater in the shape of a bubble, though the user within the bubble would not be harmed in any manner. The bartholomew is able to use this to transport his comrade through long distance if he wishes. This ability is S-rank and can only be used once every 4 turns. This ability can be used only for oneself, allies or techniques/objects and can not be used to transport enemy ninja away from a position.

NOTE: When First Pilgrim is used, the user
can't use paw arts above S-rank in the same turn
NOTE: When Second Pilgrim is used, the user can't use S-rank and above in the same turn. In the next turn, he won't be able to use paw arts above S-rank
NOTE: When Last Pilgrim is used, the user
can't use any paw arts for 2 turns
NOTE: Second and Last Pilgrim can only be
used by Bartholomew legends.
NOTE: Paw Arts used in the first pilgrim also are influenced by the no friction zone and thus their speed is increased two folds.

Before Feitan could go on, he saw the opponent "vanish" from sight, but in reality he just had jumped at fast speeds really high in the clouds. The Dark user could tell all this because his rings provided him long-range sensing. He'd also understand the fact that the enemy had reached an apex, and now was falling down towards Feitan, covered in a air-pressured bubble or whatever it was. Sighing, Feitan doesn't even fret. He embraces the falling opponent whose speed wasn't even an element of surprise. Raising his scythe, Feitan strikes it forwards moments before the bubble could actually touch Feitan. Since the bubble was nothing but air and chakra, the dark scythe which has an advantage over it easily could burst it open and also absorb it, and unfortunately betray its owner by dispersing. Mercilessly, the four blades of the scythe in the front would cut the Kumo ninja in two, leaving him literally no chances to even know what was going on.

"Now this is what I call a real time-waster. May your soul rest in peace although your body is resting in pieces right now."

Baan, having moved above the atmosphere away from the dark user and planning to use a surprise attack. He descends from the heavens while being covered by a giant paw shaped bubble to crush down on Feitan. As he descends, his attention was drawn to the blade on Feitan's hand but he shrugs it off not knowing it could cause him doom, harm if left unattended to. Baan thought his plans would go through successfully without problems until it becomes thwarted by the dark user's action. Feitan swings his blade which cuts through the bubble causing it to pierce through it and disperse it with ease. Alarmed by this and by the swing of the blade as it continues in one fluid motion, only to be stopped by Baan's left palm (paw). Instantly as it makes contact, the force behind its movement would be absorbed totally causing it to halt in its cruise and be left deformed. The idea behind the defense is that, Baan would have focused chakra into his left paw and created a suction pad around it which takes in all the impact behind the blade's flow. Simultaneously as the impact is absorbed, within the same timeframe, Baan would release the absorbed force through his right palm along with him repelling the air in front of him sending a devastating blast of compressed air that eradicates the dark user. Due to the close proximity, its "absolutely impossible" to quickly defend from this at point blank range. The counter attack would be unexpected and be one of massive damage, one that the dark user's body couldn't possibly withstand.
Landing on his feet, Baan pities the dark user as his lifeless body lay battered and pierced like a pin cushion leaving a paw print on his chest and blood gushing out of every part of his body.


∆ Paw Paw Arts: Impact Dial - Nykyu Nykyu no Mi: Inpakuto Daiaru ∆

Damage Points: Varies(Depends on the rank of the absorbed technique. When the absorbed force is expunged, it can cause 60 damage if previously used to absorb A-rank, 80 damage if used to absorbed s-rank force)
Description: The user takes advantage of their paws and, upon physical contact, any impact is absorbed instantaneously. This is seen by the clan members as an invert push. The impact is stored on the paw until the user is able to catch his opponent off guard, striking them with the full power of the absorbed technique. The absorbed force can be released also as a focused blast of air pressure from the paw that absorbed it. While the paw instantaneously absorb the impact, the momentum of the jutsu or technique in question stops totally and either falls as a dormant entity or deforms while proceeding no further. The user can at the same instance, release the absorbed force instead of choosing to store it for a while. Alternatively, the user can use the paw in form of a suction through reverse repel action to stop a surrounding force be it push or pull by absorbing the closely embracing kinetic energy (only if they are close to the user) like any remote force, encapsulating the user. Also after absorption, he can release the absorbed force immediately.
*The user can simultaneously perform a Paw Paw technique to add damage*

*Can only absorb techniques one rank above maximum, higher than that, the paw will take half of the damage, and will be useless for 2 turns. This means it can absorb an impact from up to S-rank jutsu, if it is normal chakra, force, energy, tangible matter/entity, earth, water, wind or elements technique related to them but can only absorb up to S-rank impact from lightning and fire or elements similar or related to them, leaving the paw useless for 2 turns.
*Can only be used once every 2 turns for normal members why Legends can use this with no turn rest except when their paw receives damage*
*Normal members can use this only 4 times, using it on an S-Rank allows only 1 additional use*
*Bartholomew legends can use it 5 times per battle, regardless of what rank is used on*

Description: Bartholomew clan members repel the air around them, sending a devastating shockwave of compressed air towards their opponent. Depending on the chakra imbued into the paw, the shockwave can do damage ranging from concussive to lethal damage. The shockwave is extremely fast and can travel directly through the body of the victim and continue into the distance, leaving paw imprints in its wake. Anyone and anything that is in the path of the blast receives Extreme damage. Alternatively, the user can instead of repelling, create a paw bubble up to mid-range from himself and through the use of inverse repel, call it back to his paw at immense speed. The same affects also would occur in terms of things standing in its way. However, at the end, it is absorbed back into the users paw.
~ S-rank level can be used 3 times per battle for normal Bartholomew's while 4x for Legends
~ When S-rank level is used, the user can not use paw jutsu for the following turn
